They basically are making a Star Wars out of Wow. If the Canon is being constantly broken and changed for stupid reasons, why would any fan care? You’ve failed big time when a decade long community just isn’t engaged anymore.
Idk, it seemed fine to me, although yes the chummy nature of it was really off. I can get feeling some connection because of their fight against the Legion but not that, especially since Illidan isn’t above abusing the Elderly and smuckling at them.
my issue was that it went from illidan dunking on his religion at the start of the patch, to velen then memeing on it in their final conversation before illidan died (yes that’s my headcanon) like that audacious horned demon hadn’t treated him and his beliefs like garbo from the beginning
The writers were pushing for the strange angle of Illidan being all about making his own destiny, to which Velen suddenly feels some sort of connection because the Naaru has directed his own people’s destiny but now they won’t anymore(?).
illidan making his own destiny is literally about him determining the destiny of everyone around him by making world changing decisions that usually have little impact on him but huge impacts on everyone around him
And it fills me with pure sadness. Throughout the Warcraft RTS games and my first years of WoW with TBC/Wotlk I always considered Blizzard to be nr. 1 when it came to fantasy genre, I loved every word they have written. Now its…
Sounds to me like you need to make a YouTube video with a thumbnail that has a big red arrow pointing at an insignificant detail in the picture, with the title: “YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE THIS HIDDEN DETAIL WITH SYLVANAS AND ANDUIN”
edit: make sure you flesh out the video with a long sponsor at the beginning, talk about something inconsequential next, spend 10 seconds on the actual topic of the video and then close with another sponsor and a long outro. total video time 10 minutes.
Oh lord, I’m starting to imagine that Sylvanas will somehow be saved/purified/restored to her original self at the end of Shadowlands, and it will, somehow, end with she and Anduin will get together to unite the factions. Tyrande won’t like it, and leaves, and Genn will do what he always does: Grunt, talk about his dead son again, and maybe also leave. Somewhere in all of this, maybe at the end, Anduin will say: “B-B-But I thought you wanted peace!” and shed a tear.
Bold of you to assume Tyrande will survive the expansion(Insert the ol’ narrative of "She is corrupt guys, she wont forgive Sylvie :(( "), or even get any spotlight at all.
Ah yes, my mistake! Still, if Tyrande becomes so overly bitter and then somehow Elune would try to calm her down, I look forward to her to be all like, “No, you’re not my Goddess!” and then fights her and takes her place.
I shimmer with rage that this can actually happened, at this point I am just wishing for a magical nuke to wipe out all the old characters, take out all the characters who has been part of the game since the RTS and TBC days, just total Wipeout and lets work with what is left.
