the mole man are an ancient powerful threat spoken of only in whispers and children’s tales, for every day walker they kidnap, their armies grow…
I don’t know how much of this is Danuser’s influence but the fact that the last two expansions of main story - Sylvanas’ full villainbat mode - have lead to “find out next time on Dragonball Z” is offensive to me, and since he’s basically been in control, I feel pretty comfortable laying at it his narrative-lead’s feat.
This isn’t a syndicated TV program that runs every week.
This isn’t a comic book where we get a new release every fortnight.
The end of the War Campaign, when Sylvanas was all “ooh spooky guess what’s going on” was September 24th, 2019. Two and a half years ago. In that intervening time we have learned nothing. She’s not told us anything. The Jailer didn’t tell us anything.
I am not joking: with what we learned in the Shadowlands about the supposed big bad that Sylvanas betrayed the Horde for, you could excise this entire expansion from the canon and lose nothing.
What an absolute waste of time.
Sole redeeming factor is that the Venthyr are hot, but I can get sexy vampires without the baggage.

The fact that they were publically huffing their own 
about how awesome this finale of the Sepulcher is truly sad when everyone is lambasting them over how they still have their jobs for doing such a poor work… It’s on par if not worse than government officials at this point.
Bring Metzen back.

Hell throw some of the lot in Westminster in a room with typewriters and a few bags of weed. They’ll come up with a story 10x more innovative than “OooOoOh there’s an ever bigger badder guy coming for you!”

metzen and danuser are both hacks (but at least danuser iirc isn’t voicing anyone, though i wouldn’t be surprised if zovaal was voicechanged danuser’s voice)
Here we go: actual speculation time. Firim was all “maybe the universe wasn’t meant to endure” last forever and we find out that the First Ones did a planned obsolescence on the entire reality and that we need to fight them to show that actually reality isn’t bad.
Or in other words:
Citizens of Azeroth! Raise your eyes to the skies and observe! Today our reality’s destruction has been averted in defiance of our very makers!
D’nuzar, herald of the First Ones, has been defeated by our brave comrades in the depths of the First One city of Rauldu.
D’nuzar was sent here to judge the fate of our reality. He found a reality whose races had deviated from the First One’s blueprints. A reality where not everything had gone according to plan.

Metzen is now what Lucas is to the SW franchise after it was handed to JJ and Rian.
We really had to see a terrible custodian, someone so insidious and venomous to all that we loved and cherished about this universe to realize that “It wasn’t so bad back then when Metzen/Lucas was in charge.”

Don’t jinx Jailer being dead… He’s like a robot who’s had his off switch pulled. Would not put it past them to pull an “Illidan” with him two expansions down the line and turn his power back on.

Im genuinely impressed at how bad the story has been this expansion excluding Kael’Thas in the Venthyr storyline, that was actually decent. I can’t imagine people sitting in a boardroom and all agreeing on “Okay, what if we just take Sargeras’ entire story, attribute it all to a new guy and make him do the exact same thing but he’s even more evil”.
Spent about 10 minutes trying to write just this I’m that speechless. Zovaal is really just a boneless, undercooked Sargeras that was plonked into the story and we’re told he’s the finale to a story being built up since Warcraft 3 (supposedly).
