Like others have said, there’s nothing really to be critical of. A minor change that’s inclusive to a broader demographic of players can only be a good thing.
It’s not like they’re withholding another patch worth of story content from us in exchange. Some junior dev has been told add it in, we can quite easily assume.

Blizzard is a large company. They can afford to do small, minuscule things in addition to large things. Just major and significant things are just soulless, you need the small things as well.
Also, what seems like a small, minor cosmetic thing may be minuscule for you, but may mean the world for someone else.

Yet they have neglected the smaller things for almost a decade. It’s not some advanced formula, if you have low effort high reward things to implement just implement them and your players will be ecstatic.

Does that mean they should continue to neglect those small things?

I like how shadowflame, and by extension shadow/void magic, isn’t being dismissed as “fire only different looking” when someone is injured by it.
Screenies do spoil things, ye be warned.

We need Glyphs and things like the Fel Fire color for Warlocks. Honestly, Customisation is key to make this game great.
Make things like: Primalist elemental attacks for Shamans (It affects elementals too) or Frostfire for Frost Mages or something.
Glyphs also would be neat if we had things like: Glyph of the Elemental Ascention, that instead of transforming you into the ascended, makes you become an elemental, or Glyph of the Arcane Knowledge, that turns your Arcane shield in a bunch of books floating around you.
More Customisations FTW

Silver spells for (future) Night Elf Priests(/Paladins)…
A glyph to keep DH wings out at al times…
Glyph of Necromancy for frost mages(transforms water elemental in an undeath pet)
So much can be done with Glyphs…

For warlocks, giving them undead minions instead of demonic minions. Your average necromancer and warlock share a lot of spells already.

I for one am happy about the voice change.
Maybe they’ll add the pronoun change too? That would be baller.

Yea, but a mage using the icey chill of the frozen waste, alongside a Skeletal Mage or whatever, to freeze their enemies to death is a pretty cool concept aswell😩
Also I would like some variation for Water Elemental, cause Warlocks have different species of different demons to glyph between(aside from their Felfire questline).
Mages have:
Light Blue Water Elemental,
Darker blue Water Elemental,
Silver Water elemental,
Smaller Water Elemental,
Northrend Water Elemental.
I wouldn’t mind Skeletal Mage, or whatever, for some difference in spice
And a Frostfire Questline to counter with the Warlock Felfire. And a Shadowflame questline for (S-)Priests would be cool aswell😏

Pandaren elementals for shamans and mages. Just like that, no questions asked except why not do it 10 years ago, when the assets were implemented.

It’s going to look so good on my goblin.

Even Scarlets fall on hard times, they can’t be picky with their members now!
In a few months, the Watchers and Wardens will follow suit and Orc, Tauren, Goblin, Gnome and Human Wardens will grace the world with their pressence!

That’s what gets to me. Quality of life improvements and customizations aren’t complicated things that’d take decades to implement and do not need to be hoarded as a major patch feature. Make it a steady trickle of improvements from the start to the end of an expansion and do some social media marketing around it and you’ll have a lot of happy players.

It adds to my fascination of Shadowlands as an entity of failure, not just as a game but as a focal point of thousands of terrible internal decisions at Blizzard all laid bare for the world to see.
With DF there appears to be an actual effort from people who seem like they want you to enjoy their game and it is wild how different even core design philosophies appear to have changed between expansions. The trading post is a great addition for example, I just wish it had been implemented like 6 years ago.
