well yeah, you’d also complain when the spotlight is you getting in hit in the face by a stinky
it’s a known warcraft adage that the best story comes from races who aren’t in the spotlight

You said it yourself though, the complaints, at least some, have been valid and no one can deny that Nelf victories feel tone deaf, vastly underwhelming. There’s a clear decline here and dissonance of what the writers think the players want and what the players get.
I do see your point still, Nelfmongers do be eye-rolling on their own. Personally I just cope by repeating to myself that since Nelves are descendant of Trolls, it’s no surprise they keep losing in modern WoW.
That’s actually deep…I hadn’t thought of that before, but yeah, both races can commiserate on being Blizz’s favorite punching bag in each faction.
Using the Forsaken as an example, I have complained about the Forsaken receiving Calia as their ‘iconic’ character when she’s the antithesis of everything that the Forsaken are. However, I didn’t complain about the post-Shadowlands sequence where the Desolate Council is formed, even if it’s spoiled by the presence of Calia. It’s not perfect, but it’s a step in the right direction.
This is because I’m able to accept a small win without being grumpy about the minutia and how it wasn’t a perfect, absolute victory in my eyes. This is still a win for the night elves, they’re still getting a new home to replace Teldrassil even if it’s not the ideal location in your eyes. There’s no need for night elf fans to treat this win like a loss just because the tree isn’t being placed in the perfect location.
This isn’t another case of night elves getting hit in the face by a stinky , it’s just a fly in the ointment of an otherwise sound success. That might be why I have a hard time taking people seriously when they act like this is yet another slap in the face.
Okay? Many undead players did.
Uhhh. First, we don’t even know the extent of this. It doesn’t even look like a World Tree or anything ‘livable’. My prediction is this will somehow just be used to ‘re-immortalize’ Night Elves, but who knows what else has been datamined in relation to this.
It doesn’t look likely to be a ‘new home’ regardless of location.
Also consider that Twitter doesn’t really let you post long essays to give a nuanced take, so if the reactions are ‘boo, wrong place’ then people do mean it in a fly-in-the-ointment way. Much like ‘gee, I do wish Calia wasn’t present in the Desolate Council’.
Tyrande should ask Murozond to undo Teldrassil’s destruction.
Get the Alliance bronze magic using dracthyr to fix it
why don’t we just take a teldrassil from some stinky poo alternative timeline (maybe moments before destruction, perhaps from the AU azeroth pre-light’s dominance or w/e the maghar hinted at??) and place it in ours!
What other terrible moments in time should we be forced to make happen via the Caverns of Time?
I’m thinking:-
Teldrassil (again)
Path of Glory
Corruption of the Eredar on Argus (KJ/Archi)
Cairne dying to Garrosh
Arthas claiming the Helm/LK armour at Icecrown (owning Illidan 1v1)
Enslaving of Alexstrasza/red dragons.
There’s gotta be more.
I don’t think night elves getting new world tree in a zone terrible for RP, inaccessible to anyone besides geared 70s and also cross-faction is some W.
Night elves peaked in 8.1 with their return to savage race they were in Warcraft 3, everything since then has just been one big downhill ride of stupid storytelling.
Stop the Nightmare spreading in the Dream/Val’Sharah
So says the SHADOW of Xavius…
This time SACRED VINES ENTANGLE THE CORRUPTED! will be properly aimed.
Less of a spotlight and more of a hell light.
Most people aren’t so meek as you, to accept everything they’re handed without complaint. Especially when it concerns something they are fond of that has been repeatedly kicked into the dirt.
Popsicle’dorei.
We need new draenei…
Frozenei.
Draenegative’degrees.
Yeah sorry.
but Draenei don’t have long ears sooo… we can’t actually give them a dozen sub variants, yeah really sorry about that, but thems the rules.
