Blizzards preview post about the upcoming patch more or less sealed the Troll heritage set’s fate.
We’re getting elephants on Horde.
Sounds like a McDonalds degree to me. Jk ofc.
Just roll a random Troll ungeon head item on any Troll dungeon or raid and fix their easily solveable problem, lmao.
Given how the existing Troll items are absolutely shotgunned through the different armour types, it shouldn’t be hard…

“Two additional headslot cosmetic items” definitely implies they’re going to provide split options without the elephant trunk but it remains to be seen I guess
An interesting comment from mmo-champion:
My biggest fear with TLT is they are going to think just naturally progressing Northrend is too boring and decide to Cataclysm it.
And with Metzen back at the helm, I think its a very possible reality. I don’t want to see Icecrown turned into a volcano or Grizzley Hills as desert because its “cool”.
I was watching some questing in one of the new zones and I can’t help but feel LOTR: Shadow of War vibes from the big caves. There’s even a gladiator pit.
The Last Titan is going to be the climax of a trilogy. There’s no way on earth that it’s just going to be set on a Northrend that has naturally been left to its own devices with little tampering.
We’re talking about a land that has Titan, Dragons, Undeath and to some degree even Druidic influence.
To say that you can’t do a lil’ bit of terraforming here and there for believable reasons just doesn’t seem far fetched. I do agree that I don’t want or need Northrend to suddenly have a volcano or an entire zone suddenly turned into a desert, updating/revamping them with modern assets oughta do with some natural progression depending on their respective and original questing.
PS : Boring Tundra is the exception, do whatever you want with that zone, it’s your free canvas.
I’m fully expecting stuff like the Storm Peaks being annihilated by a cataclysm that exposes all of its Titanic machinery guts, or most of the Dragonblight being dug up to truly unearth Galakrond, and so on. Entire zones will likely be wrecked and ravaged, not for random reasons but for plot development.
Also:
Priests get a naaru-inspired look with a shadowy alternate look, shamans get a watery ponytail.
Oh, and dracthyr want to emulate Deathwing after all.
Wow players: Nooooo don’t change the world, you are ruining my nostalgia!!
Also wow players: Why is the world still stuck in Cataclydm?!?!
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Whoever says this should be thrown from the top of Blackrock Mountain.

The Arathi under the earth have no longer been there for “centuries”, instead this has been changed to an expedition that has lasted roughly 15 years (timeline wise, this places it around WotLK - TWW should be taking place in Year 42, Wrath happened in year 27).
In addition, there is still a full Arathi Empire, lead by an ‘Emperor’…somewhere. Highly implied to be on the ‘opposite side of the planet’.
You all know my opinion on stuff on the ‘far side’ of Azeroth (it’s dumb and I hate it).
Australia expansion confirmed.
This is the worst news that could have been delivered to me today.
Really really really don’t like this.
This is actually good and makes sense. I even assumed this was the case before some interview mentioned they’ve been there for centuries.
This is stupid
Maybe a hot take here, but I think sets would be LOT more interesting if they DIDN’T have big glowy parts freaking everywhere.
It really feels like they have two teams, one who designs the NPCs, who understand balance, ‘rule of three’ and design principles.
And the one who designs PC gear, which just… LOUD. Ugh. Dislike, dislike, dislike…
omg they’re mormons
Not a fan of the Arathi Empire still existing.
You’d think they would keep in contact with their former capital of Strom
