I think that the Eredar timeline retcon was the best retcon ever to happen in WoW tbh. Now Eredar became the dominant species on Argus 25K years ago and got recruited by Sargeras 13K years ago. It makes it feel slightly more relatable in the context of other, Azerothian races.
Reminds me of that old roleplayer joke about taverns with non-euclidean geometry because every single person there is brooding in a corner at the far side of the tavern from everyone else.
I am hoping they will add the other emotes like /shovel - /prowl - /cooking - /gathering - /skinning - /channel. I also really want all the /guard selections and the /readyattack and /readyrange animations (and throw in the aiming and firing ones to boot). I was so sad the idle holding animations for hunter were client side only.
Most importantly however I want the ātalk subduedā they added in Undermine as an optional replacement for some of the default talk gestures. Some races / genders can over exaggerate and not reflect the character I want to roleplay. The talk subdued option looks really nice as an alternative.
Female Night Elves, en mass, staring at the devs: āGive. Us. Better. Options. Damn. You.ā
What do you mean you donāt like stomping your foot every time you end your sentence with an exclamation mark?
Question: will Kāaresh be accessible to various groups?
IE. Will it be RP content like Nazjatar or Outland, or secluded more like Argus?
Seems more secluded like Argus, but thereās a portal to Tazavesh next to the Stormwind portal in Dornogal which Iām sure people could use.
I guess weāll find out when we learn more about the plot but I could imagine Tazavesh as a magic interdimensional market city could be fairly theoretically accessible to characters of the sort who might visit a magic interdimensional market city.
Unless your character and/or guild get up to high power level cosmic shenanigans, I think itās safe to say that Kāaresh is probably out of bounds for you. For most characters roleplayed on Argent Dawn, itāll just be a quiet spell, much like 11.1 for any character that didnāt have ties to goblins. At most, there will probably be rumours that a bunch of void elves and mages have buggered off to somewhere.
And while there is something to be said about Horde representation, with the main character being Alleria, Locus-Walker and Veānari, with a supporting cast of void elves, I donāt think itās worth complaining about considering that weāll be coming straight out of a goblin patch and that we have a supposedly sinādorei-centric expansion waiting for us.
Just waiting for Olā Emma to show up on Kāaresh
supposedly in big olā italics after that novel announcement
Just let the bile build up, I donāt think itās worth complaining about it right now.
If Midnight craps the bed, then we can let it all loose.
And sheāll be wearing Tier 8 DK armor and riding Old Blanchy. Flying around like the Headless Horseman and burning void wells as part of a weekly quest to destroy X void wells.
Yes⦠the Tazavesh part will surely be a promising RP hook - as Brokers are bound to be open to āreach outā to various races.
Tazavesh and RP hooks are mutually exclusive, sadly. With such origins it canāt be otherwise.
You donāt have to acknowledge the Shadowlands aspects of it, especially if 11.2 brushes over that stuff.
Thereās absolutely nothing wrong with just treating Tazavesh as a teleporting market home to a type of ethereals who wear metal instead of bandages, without mentioning the afterlife for a second.
Worth noting: there are still Shadowlands residents hanging around Tazavesh in 11.2. Thereās not many though so probably ignorable.
Just another point then. If all we do there is ignore what this place is, why go there at all?
Iām not sure what youāre arguing for here. People have always selected bits of lore they vibed with and isolated those they did not⦠since the dawn of times.
Personally, I find the ethereal lore, aswell as the lore surrounding the Void, to be quite compelling! Should I toss it all in the bin because I donāt vibe with the brokers? It feels like a missed opportunity.
Mind you, youāre right: I donāt like the Brokers being there and would have preferred if it was an entirely void/ethereal patch. At the end of the day however, I see it like this: Kāaresh is not about the Shadowlands, it is about the Nether and the Void.
As others said, one could easily wave off the Brokers as āmore denizens from the Netherā or the ghosts/deceased from Kāaresh that came back for some kind of poetic justice, which is all but unique from what we have seen in WoW, and focus the role-play on the elements you do care about the most.
EDIT.
Mind you, I might be rushing it right now. There is no indication that various adventurers will travel to Kāaresh, so we shall see.
WoW planets are crafted more and more like King Kaiās world from DBZ.
