“LFM ZG idols and mounts gbid”
I see this kind of stuff constantly in trade chat and its the dumbest thing I have ever encountered in this game. Sure, making a ZG pug takes a minor amount of effort, but that doesn’t mean people owe you money.
If you participate in a raid and do your part well you should be able to roll on whatever loot you want. Its not like the raid leader is carrying the entire group.
I just hope this toxic nonsense doesn’t carry over to TBC.
Make your own group if you dislike other people’s rules. Complaining about it is stupid.
Have you actually been in any full gbid runs? Most of the time you end up with more gold than you entered with.
I don’t have to make my own group, I run ZG with my guild. That however doesn’t prevent me from seeing that it is absolutely stupid to pay gold for loot that you have earned through playing the freaking game.

You dont unerstand the concept of a GBID/GDKP run.
You are not paying the raid leader, you are paying the raid. The Gold is being split / players and everyone gets a piece.
You can make money with it by “carrying” or spend money. Most gdkp runs will have a good balance between those two. Getting payed 500g for a MC run is a good time investment, you should be more open to different ideas.
You don’t “earn” things just by participating.
A participation trophy isn’t earned.
Miylee, I really really really hate to point this out, but your account doesn’t really convince me to take anything you say seriously. Not even max level in BfA, no max level classic character, less achievement points than my grandma. Absolutely no disrespect towards you, but are you really qualified to discuss this game when you have obviously hardly even played it?

No, participating can mean anything from carrying the group to being AFK and occasionally using a shadowbolt. Each level of participation isn’t worth equal reward; that is all dependant upon your group and your rules.
If you want purely equal loot chance; go play retail and enjoy your personal loot.

Are you really discussing about gbid runs? It has been since vanilla and a lot of ppl enjoy this, what’s your problem? Not enough gold or what?
Gbid runs are not as half as bad as you call them, you judge them yet as you said you haven’t even been in any. Now if that doesn’t disqualify you from this topic I don’t know what else does.
If you partake in your guild ZG runs that’s great, some of us are not so lucky to attend every guild ZG run due to job/family commitments and have to look for pugs to not waste resets.
Also, no offense, but resorting to judging people on this forum based on their level/achievements is you slowly shifting away from the topic because you’re losing confidence in your initial arguement.
This really. Get a core of 5 people from your guild, pug the rest, use your own rules. If we end up pugging anyone for an alt ZG it’s always just “roll on anything you want/need” - it’s ZG after all.
That being said, I used to run GDKP ZG/MC runs in vanilla where we’d just do 1/3 of the raid as guildies (mains/alts) and fill up the rest with people willing to drop some gold - was a good little earner late game when farming gold and/or mats for Naxx attempts was a pain

A lot of people don’t post here with their Classic mains, for the most different reasons - either because their previous character already earned a Trust Level on forums that they wish to maintain, or because they don’t want to publicize their guild name tag, etc.
Considering you seem to have no idea of how a GDKP run works, as others told you, you might as well take your condescence elsewhere.
I had to skip my guild’s BWL this week, so I joined a GDKP pug. Earned 1300g.
Actually, many of big buyers must be big goldbuyers, so I’m indirectly supporting them, so part of me feels bad. But the bigger part of me appreciates this system. It’s a good way to get items you want, and a good way to make money.
well there probably are, but a legit way to fast and easy money is boosting. you earn around 300g per hour boosting maraudon. let me do that 10h a week since it became popular (5month ago) and i have 60k gold.
or just work 10h overtime a week and buy 10k for 300€ works too i guess
I have no problems with gbid runs as long as the gold is split between the entire raid. The simple truth is that you can spend months trying to get an item you really want or alternatively you can do a few gold bid runs and if you’ve put in enough work outside of raids to accumulate enough gold then you can get an item you desperately want.
It also lets players who cannot commit to a raid schedule actually gear up their characters. It eliminates the RNG of rolling so the only RNG you have to deal with is the item actually dropping.
Imagine your a Warrior and you really want Ashkandi to PvP with but your not really all that interested in joining a raiding guild to get it since you mainly PvP and don’t fancy doing BWL pugs for months to keep losing the roll to other players - well it’s nice for someone like that to know they will get it if it drops (assuming they can outbid everyone else)
Even when it comes to ZG there are some items still highly sought after such as Jin’do’s Evil Eye which I would happily pay for since I’ve been doing ZG for a few months now on my alt and still have not won the roll on it.
Understand that every player has different circumstances and goals in this game and Gbid runs is win/win for everyone, even the losers get compensated with gold.
I have not seen someone so thoroughly owned in his own thread no less since that one incident with slave/master erp.
I wish I could “carry” a GDKP run, since I’m pretty much phase BiS and despise AoE farming, but alas, I don’t think my realm really has any.
I have a very simple solution for you. DON’T GO. People that are stupid enough to do this they have only themselves to blame.
