I’ve started playing WoW retail with Shadowlands (leveled from 1-50 on BfA content though) and haven’t touched Classic.
Greatly interested in The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King and Legion due to story and setting.
Once TBC pre-patch releases, can I start a new character (Blood Elf to be precise) right off the bat and will I be able to level it in TBC environment exlusively? Or do I have to hit a certain threshold in WoW classic before moving through the portal to Outland in TBC classic?
My plan was to start from scratch once TBC classic releases (pre-patch?) and I’d like to level my char exclusively in TBC environment.
Also, as of now (30th of March 2021) you can’t create a Blood Elf char on classic realms, right?
No. You have a starting zone for Blood Elfs and then after a short while you need to quest in normal Azeroth a.k.a vanilla until lvl 58, then you can go to tbc environment.
But seeing as you know nothing of this world, there is no need to be dismissive of vanilla content, it’s very beautiful as well!
Also it will take you a lot longer to level in TBC Classic than retail. Far longer.
You level in the Blood Elf starting zone, which will be much longer than Retail, then you go to undercity and move on to silverpine forest or you can go to other zones until you hit 58, then you go through the portal to the higher TBC zones.
I find this useful. The 1-10 and 10-20 zones are like the Blood elf start zones.
These numbers don’t change as you level in Classic and TBC Classic as they do in retail. So you are limited as to which zone you can level in.
As of now you can not create a belf char and neither can you start leveling in the appropiate starting zone. Imagine that’ll be only possible once the pre-patch hits.
