Raider.io Should be broken if it continues charging players for fast updating

So i suggest you move to big wigs then as dbm takes donations.

TBH I think he had more of an issue with patreon type support rather than one off donations.

No no, i are not threaten you, i am only expressing my opinion about your MVP status. I dont like your opinion but i think that you should have the right to say it. I have nothing personal againts you, no ofense but you are just a random unknown person from internet whose name i forgot five minutes after closing the forum (no ofsense but i never could remember any forum user name)

and you say in same line

But you want her to lose her MVP ??? what are you on about ,

Lol this thread is insane

No it is not a personal vendetta against Rio, it is against having to pay for a premium service from a 3rd party addon. As I already said if all the other essential addons like week auras, DBM, skada, recount, etc. start doing the same it will end up costing players a multiple of what they actually pay to Blizzard to play a game they already paid for.

As for timing, WOW Progress contains the same information on players and is almost an insta update.

Deliberately slowing down an addon update for some players because they didn’t pay also has nothing to do with voluntary contributions which are a different matter entirely.

Let those sites make money from advertising if they can, but they should be told either you don’t charge players for premium services or you get broken by Blizzard.

DBM is free.

Raider io is not fully free, like a Tesla you have to pay money to unlock higher speeds. This is not acceptable.

How about DBM start giving you normal but not heroic unless you pay premium, or recount limit the data you can see, perhaps you can see where I’m going with this. Addons could end up costing you over €1000 per annum.

At the end of the day, I pay blizzard to pay their game, I do not want to have to pay tom, dick and harry as well so I can play the game I already bought.

And please don’t say addons are optional, they are not, this isn’t a single player game, and the community makes the use of addons mandatory for group content.

But you don’t have to pay for the services if you don’t want to. It’s not like WoW where you have to pay money to actually get access to the game. You learn when you can update Rio/sim gear without having to sit in a 5-10 minute queue. You can also do other stuff in the meantime so it’s not like you have to sit glued to the web page waiting for it to be finished.

Just exactly what do you think will have changed to make me invite you to a run in 11 hours?

Will your score have jumped by 200 points?

Given I don’t just look at the score but what you done for that given instance.

If I didn’t deem you worthy of an invite 11 hours prior nothing will have changed in those 11 hours after.

This is a ridiculous topic.

This thread deserves to be locked.

Technically they use their website to cache the data that is available to public. When it has been synced from the REST API, they enhance this data so that it gets into a human readable format. Those syncs don’t happen every 5 minutes or so because it costs extra ressources and bandwidth.

I don’t use their service - and that’s the keyword. They provide a service in which they invest time and hardware (server infrastructure) or in a cloud they pay for SKUs. It’s just fair enough if you want more, then you have to pay for the forced sync.
If it was for free - everyone would want to sync their data on demand, which would gets us back to “it costs extra ressources and bandwidth”

And never get it for granted that Devs put time into an addon for free. Imagine talking like that to a plumber for repairing the kitchen sink demanding that he’s doing it for free. He will laugh at you and not even come over.
So you carbon entities should be VERY grateful to Devs (in general) that we are so generous to give you lots of stuff without charging you.

Yes.
Thruth is that if your run is above leaderboard, you don’t even need to scan your pg, the site will update itself in minutes, and the addon they next day.
So no need to pay unless you want to support them.

The wow community have made it more or less mandatory to have RIO if you want to push and run M+ as your main gearing option. I must have ran about 40 keys over the weekend on my main, and now already outgear the heroic raid (pretty sad to see raiding outside of Mythic rendered useless for gear but that is another debate).

If Blizzard let paying for addons creep into the game it will be final destruction of it.

Nice to see someone running sixes and sevens flexing their epeen this early in the morning. Wheather or not an individual invites someone to a run is subjective. The fact is that the higher your RIO score the more likely you are to be invited.

So you do work for Rio? Just because you see no problem with having to pay for an addon so you can play a game you have already paid for doen’t mean that others haven’t a serious problem with this.

Oh great, free for the 1% of mythic raiders on the leaderboard, doesn’t matter about the rest of us scrubs having to pay so.

I’m no myth raider (I do my try with my guild but no world first here and maybe no clear at all) and i have no issue.
I’m lucky to be on a small pop server, but even if i’m on a big one, why do i need to update every day?
If i can’t make the leaderbord, chances are i’m not good enough to go above a certain level, and if so, it’s just matter of waiting a week or two, close the key i can and then your raider score it’s set for the rest of the season. So why you should worry about fast updates?

You don’t have to pay and likely no one in this thread pays aside of you. I didn’t even know they have such service.

You still need azerite armor and buying 400ilvl from titan residuum takes some time. M+ was designed to be an alternative to raids and that what +10 is right now.

Then you really don’t need RIO quick updates any more.

I was flexing nothing at all, stating fact.

what would change in the 11 hours that would be the difference between an invite now or later? answer is nothing.

But so glad you looked at my raider io as it’s proving something of yourself.

This week I actively avoided anything much higher because the affix combo isn’t fun.

Only if you opt for doing M+ with PUGs, though. That is a choice, not the only way of tackling this content. There are guilds, communities, and people on your friends list too, that offer an alternate way of running M+ dungeons.

Since when is wow about fun, that ended in vanilla once players realised it was engineered to be a test of skill.

Lore and RPG are gone out the window and jumped the shark a long time ago, even Blizzard themselves now try to market it as an esport. It is an MMO version of a highly competitive MOBA with a grind attached. Fun isn’t part of the equation.

If anything now WOW is a rat race, and if you fall behind for a couple of weeks you are finished for that season.

hmm technicaly what raider io is doing is wrong, and goes against blizzards own policy, you se the difference between starting to sell warcraft toys whit no license, is in a way same as providing a site that shows your M+ score where you have to pay a fee to get it to works as it should be done, but thats just my oppinion.

Unless you are in a very, very, large guild you will not get the key selection at the level you want without pugging.

If any content in the game requires full on pugging for most players it is M+.

You don’t just run a +10 to get a weekly chest. For example I still need a trinket upgrade, which at the moment lets me only pick about three dungeons. Once I get that then I will want a BIS trinket upgrade, that will mean having to do the same instance maybe 9 or 10 times at an appropriate level, even in a large guild getting that many at level keys for the same instance in one day would be very difficult.

The guild and group of people I play regularly with numbers less than twenty, though some of them have a bunch of alts that they do +10s for, so there is usually a good selection of keys. If I wanted to, I could run several M+ dungeons every night. (I only came back to the game less than three weeks ago, so I haven’t done more than +11 in BFA yet.)

I suppose if you want to run higher keys, likely in the +15 and up range, you’d be more reliant on pugging, but still, when I did this back in Legion, I had a list of people that I had ran M+ with before, so the score mattered only initially. With the new-ish Communities feature, it should be easier now to maintain a roster of folks you did higher keys successfully with.

Oh poor little team didn’t got a trinket. Pretty much everyone has a slot to target while the game and the RIO score will push you into running every dungeon there is. You have many weeks of this tier to get you BiS not to mention high ilvl gear. Giving everything already would burn the tier way way quicker and the game does not want to allow it as people would just unsub to next patch/tier.
