Reclaiming Gilneas (spoiler 10.2.5)

My argument is that she can’t be worse than her dad since he was just about the worse leader in WoW.

no garrosh was the worst leader and he wasnt bad literally no one could have predicted that a massive 100k year old dragon would burst from the elemental plane and create world spanning magnitude 9 earthquakes aswell as other natural disasters. Without deathwing gilneas would have never fallen to the forsaken.

That’s not what I was talking about. Gilneas was in on the brink of civil war when the worgen came up and bit them in the bum and took over the city cause Genn was dumb and had a fallout with Crowley. Then the Forsaken showed up and caught them again with their pants down. Nah, there’s no one worse than Genn. Garrosh was a genius next to Genn.

That happened becuase Crowley wanted to help the alliance and his lands fell outside the wall, gen didnt want to risk it. This isnt bad leadership this is the difference between and old mans cautiousness and a young mans sense on initiative. Moreover the forsaken never would have been an issue even during a civil war if not for death wing becuase the wall was easily defensible.

Also speaking of crowley if anyone should be the new leader of the worgen it should be him.

Very weak and short quest line. I’m sorry but those who say they enjoyed it you have very low standards of both the game and story telling possibilities.

They need to do better in the future, especially when it comes to things that relate with the old world. MUCH better than what was presented here. Sure, few years ago we were worried that this would happen off screen between expansions… Guess it didn’t but all we got is this.

No threat whatsoever, no real odds, Genn’s inner conflict barely shown…

They’ve forgotten how to tell stories of a people as a whole… Genn’s story isn’t just his, but should represent all of Gilneans… What we got in game could basically be boiled do to “hmmm I’m not sure about this guys, oh wow we solved the problem thx everyone”.

There could have been so many extra quests where we see the struggle and distrust of Genn and other Worgens expressed… Maybe the tensions rise at some point, and we’re actually going hostile to each other for a bit… Just there Tess gets injured badly, some dramatic scene plays out but Calia heals her up, Genn snaps out of it and we make truce… Just such basic simple story beats to add to the story…

Really lazy blizz team. I’m hoping that this is the case because 95% if your team is already working on 2 expansions ahead.

No, that happened because of bad management and lack of information. Look, I don’t need you to agree with me. You like the old fella that’s fine. All I’m saying is that Tess is a step in the right direction as far as girlbosses are concerned and again, in my opinion, a major improvement on her father’s terrible kingdom management skills. I don’t like Genn, he should have been the one shot by Sylvanas not his son and his son should have been king instead, but since that didn’t happen, well Tess is fine with me.

And Genn agrees with you.

I’d probably agree if it wasn’t for the fact the Crusade have constantly seen anyone who isn’t aligned with them as evil. At first, it was just the undead, but now it’s everyone. Not sure when exactly that happened, but I think it was cata.

Nah they were always messed up in the head. They’ve been doing their thing since vanilla. What’s idiotic about this is that they got pulled out of where the sun don’t shine. They were gone. They lost literally every place they had. Their monastery is gone, their leaders are gone one way or another, they death knights destroyed their home. Their mission to the north got blasted by Forsaken. There was nothing left. But BOOM they are back and … lose again. Badly… again. Who falls for that crap?

What might have been interesting is if we saw a return to the Twilight Hammer cult. In DF we know they’re still kicking around, and with TWW and Midnight coming, it would have been a decent idea.

This questline was awful, I don’t think ANYONE wants Genn to step down, feels like a girlboss moment from Blizzard.
As well, it took me 15 minutes to do this, what am I even paying Blizzard for?

This is probably the least important problem in the questline.
It was short and full just of battles with an help and now gilneas is still barely populated. Plus horde helped genn to retake the city and this doesnt make sense.
And your issue is having tess ruling.

I thought me saying “I was able to do it in 15 minutes” covered the “short and trash” part.
And of course it’s my issue, I want Genn there, Tess feels like she has been retconned pretty hard for this role.

I don’t think it was that bad, but definitely rushed.

In fact i was hoping in gen abdication. Hes the last old king remained. And tess fought hard.
I just hope gilneas will be like a capital city with a teleport and flight point.
And worgen pally. I could switch back to alliance for queen tess.

What’s with greymane new voice? He had one of the best voice actors in game imo now he sounds terrible. Guess the old voice actor didn’t want to do it or was asking for to much money? Could have at least tried to sound like the old one…

no chance. And no wonder, why would they. Nobody goes to any city other than Stormwind and maybe ironforge. Why spend precious resources in making it a functional city if they are not going to introduce content to get people to visit the zone?

I had planned the whole evening:
first, reclaiming Gilneas.
Second: Bel’ameth and the new vendors.
Third: Azerothian Archives and vendor
Fourth: M+ break.

…. I’ve reclaimed Gilneas in 15 minutes, no much else to do there after.
… went to Bel’ameth, was emptier than Camp Turajo…
… Azerothian Archives… done and dusted and I’m still waiting for one (and I mean one) task to do. There were so many ppl I just stood there for 12 minutes.
Spent the rest of the evening depleting WM23/24

Gilneas let me down tho… I was expecting a long chain quest like going somewhere to rekindle with Worgens, rally them, burst into the city, fight, kill bosses, something more :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:
Instead just kill bunch of mobs, fight a boss, done :+1:

Hshahshs.

I went early morning to check out the patch while I reas emails from work and it was pretty full. It was quite cool. I collected the trabsmogs, visited every building and went through the portals and flew in the world world through the belf areas. Not a lot to do but it was cool and felt good.

I went back late this evening to fly around while in queue to see if i’d miss some detail or little settlement, and…well, there was nobody anymore as expected lol

I hope they plan to add content and they didnt spend all that time and effort on creating it just to leave it like that, nobody to visit it ever again…

I dont know they could’ve added some weeklies about collecting stuff and hope build the settlements or clear some vermin or something…At least I’d have more of an incentive to go back there ever again

Does anyone know if they’re keeping the city neutral forever?
So after reclaiming the city there are still horde running around, does anyone know if the city is going to remain neutral, has there been any word by Blizz on that?
Or is this just a temporary thing until the city receives an update
