It was my understanding that come 8.1, as long as you were exalted with a specific faction you could go to the vendor of that faction on an alt, and buy gear, for example, that required exalted status? This doesn’t appear to be the case.
I swore I heard this talked about at Blizzcon and it was said.
Also, I know the account-wide flightmaster map has been temporarily removed for those wondering due to a bug.
You can’t BUY anything on an alt that does not have the rep, but, what you can do, is use the Tabards that are hidden behind Exalted reps through the transmog window. The only thing you can go and do that required rep before is the CoA rep, where you can now go and get the extra 45 ilvl’s for the neck.
Nope, what they said is that reputation requirements are removed from item appearances but not the actual items. That way once you aquire an item and unlock the appearance you can use it on any character even if it required reputation to obtain. You just misunderstood
this is what people have been asking for for years basically. and recipes.
however as i understand it, what we are getting will be:
CoA rep will now be boa once one toon is exalted so all alts can upgrade neck,
if a transmog item is already known on one toon, any rep barriers for other toons are removed, ie tabards and gear can be used by any alt, once your main gets exalted with that faction and buys the gear first,
getting 100 exalted rep achieve and mount is now account bound. you dont need all 100 exalted reps on one toon.
so i still wont be able to get plate or 2h’s or recipes for other professions on my rogue, even though its exalted with EVERYTHING. i will need to get exalted on all armor types and with each profession user.
limp d*** changes which ignores what people have been asking for, for years, in relation to rep changes and making them account bound.
UGH! I knew they wouldn’t have fixed all the bugs, they are truly useless sometimes. Why release something so late if you don’t even fix the freakin’ bugs?!
I would’ve liked the vendor items to become BoA, it’s silly to think someone would grind the reps on each armor class just for some random mog boots, but it still scratches at the part of my brain that laughs at my incomplete mog list.
Only thing I noticed, any different is that this character now has 92 Exalted Rep.'s, where he had <90 yesterday.
Not looked much further than Boralus, yet but if the CoA change did go through, it wasn’t yelled about anywhere as loudly as new profession Recipes, new War Campaign & new Warfront.
