Wait, what, we don’t share a buff exclusively with BM hunters, every raid has arcane mages for arcane empowerment.

Patch 3.2

  • [Seal of Blood] This ability has been removed.

  • [Seal of the Martyr This ability has been removed.

  • [Seal of Vengeance] [Seal of Corruption]: These seals have been redesigned. Only auto-attacks and [Hammer of the Righteous] can place the debuff on the paladin’s current target(s). However, while the seal is active, each melee swing or ability (excluding judgements) that lands on the target will deal a percentage of weapon damage as Holy damage to the target. This damage maxes out at 33% weapon damage with 5 applications of the debuff and scales upward evenly based on how many applications of the debuff are active. This Holy damage deals double-damage critical strikes. In addition, the damage-over-time debuff is now considered a melee attack for the purposes of determining its chance to hit, miss, be dodged or parried.

This is what you’re all complaining about. Tier 9 launch patch this happened.

9.2 is like, Shadowlands?

Yes, every single patch was a nerf for the retribution tree OR for the spells we could use.
Meanwhile, DKS are hyper viable in all of their 3 specs and nobody cares.

Maybe so, I know in our 25 man naxx runs in 2008, our highest DPS was a death knight. He used to pull around 4k DPS on patchwork, how they can now hit 10k with a good heroism is just dumb.

Mages are likely to go fire soon-ish assuming the bossfights arent REALLY damn short.

Yeah that post was utter bs, specially the ‘class’ vs ‘spec’ ideology and only part of the class needing to be viable. Why even bother having 3 talent trees and dual spec then?

Oh yeah, they actually wanted to remove dual spec to begin with. Makes sense.

Guess you got lucky if you won the lottery and got 3 viable specs. cheers

There is a fairly large gap between being ‘meta’ and being ‘viable’, which means your milage may vary significantly.

Which 1 specs are viable? Prot warrior tank is garbage(you will see on ulduar). Later on Arms is doing far less dmg than fury, basically 1 spec is viable.

They should bring seal of blood , removing it in WOTLK was huge mistake , and the only reason they removed was because the devs back then where , well i was gonna say idiots , but turned out was a lot more then that .

Yes you got rightly nerfed throughout WOTLK because Ret was busted. But in 3.2 Ret was pretty much in its current form, the nerfs people are complaining about are specifically those, with specifically those being the target of what a lot of people are asking for in buffs.

Ret in 3.2 was fine, which is effectively the version you play now. So you suck for Naxx and Ulduar, like a few other specs have sucked when they didn’t originally, and yet people are still taking Rets to top 5 speedkills and speedruns. Nobody is benching you like they are benching other less meta specs, meanwhile Prot and Holy are the best tanks/healers in the game.

we don’t need to get a nerf revert or anything of that sort, and honestly i can see the whole 2pT10 baked in argument also being unrealistic even though i suppose that’s what i’d want, my personal advice would be to just give ret’s a % damage buff within raids that they could easily remove or tune differently when needed

I would advice to not buff any character, everything is in good spot. Let’s focus on bugs.

Yeah that’s right, it’s baffling to be honest. Why one spec was nerfed into the ground, while the other is still S tier? :thinking:

I personally wouldn’t mind even if warriors get some buffs if that’s what it takes for blizzard to start doing something. I think it will be much more fun overall.

Azeroth needs more paladins and DKs.
