convenient that your very nuanced level minimum requirement to post on a forum happens to be so close your level. Wonder what process you had to go through to get to that decision.
I and Iām sure many others will be happy for this to happen on the retail forums too
The reverse of what I am suggesting would be:
āMake it so people who have characters on Classic, but not on retail, canāt post on the retail forumsā.
Sounds fair to me, but I donāt think there are many Classic players who do not have any character on retail as well.
ok so hereās how it is: classic players on classic forums = honor and pride
retail on classic forums = boooooooooooring
I donāt but Iām beginning to think I should!
Then do the same with classic players spamming classic crap outside of the classic section
What makes you think these spammers donāt have any characters on retail?
I mean by putting a barrier, not the exact same barrier x)
I play both, really annoying to see people talk about classic in other forums, specially when the title doesnt indicate classic & doesnāt until half way through the post, wise versa of course aswell
Ah yes, more gatekeeping is just what WoW needs.
/s
Gatekeeping is when someone takes it upon themselves to decide who does or does not have access or rights to a community or identity.

Totally irrelevant here since these people are not playing Classic.
You donāt have to be outright playing classic right now to make use of the forum. I played classic for and BC for years and I havenāt started playing classic properly yet because Iām still trying to get a feel for the community and the game play changes before making a commitment. Plus; what if newcommers have questions? What if people want to mention an exploit or what if people want to ask about a bug they maybe experiencing? What if they have a question or comment about the experience to more seasoned players? You canāt put a level cap on that or a game cap. Weāre all playing warcraft here.
Yes, letās make the Classic community look closed off, especially to new players who wish to ask more about the game before starting their journey. Personally I donāt think any part of the PUBLIC forum should be closed off, as long as you have an active subscription. Thereās enough animosity and estrangement between Classic and retail as it is. Letās not make it any worse.
Never mind how excluding people is a terrible first impression to give, on top of everything else you stated.

How can they experience an exploit or bug when they are not playing?
Some people played beta test realms and stress test realms and may not have played the most current iteration of wow classic. I for example played the beta and stress test but I donāt have a character above level 10 on classic yet. For example, I may want to ask āāhas X/Y bug been fixed yet? has XY feature been implemented yet? is there a confirmed change for X yet?āā
But you do have a character on Classic.
Likely responding to attitudes such as the below quote.
only since yesterday, but Iāve been posting on the forums for longer. And as Kirin said some people are making ridiculous statements about level restrictions.
Having that character would grant you full access to the Classic forums. You would then be able to post on it with a character from retail.
Why should I change my forum avatar just because someone else needs proof that I play classic and have managed to navigate my way out of the starting zone?
