You shouldn’t. The forum can detect if you are playing on Classic. It could automatically grant your avatars posting privileges.
I already played classic for over a year like 10 years ago. Even if I had no characters on wow classic at all I’ve still played it longer than anyone who’s only played the recent classic release.
If you don’t play World of Warcraft you do not have posting privileges.
Game’s only been out for a month and people already think they deserve special posting privileges because they downloaded 2 gigs and created a character. Literally anyone can do that.
I have 4 accounts - only play Classic on one of them ……
Four battle.net accounts?
no only 2 B Net’s
If anyone can do it, then what seems to be the problem? Why would anyone care how long you have been playing vanilla? You wan’t recognition for being a veteran?
I’m out, people are putting words in my mouth. Quote me if you can.
Because they like it I think - you can be disgruntled here and there are hardly any repercussions
If its so easily it’s a pointless restriction. It’s not going to serve any purpose other than to force people to walk through hoops to post on the forum. It won’t make a difference unless there is a level restriction; and that comes with its own issues. We shouldn’t be putting off players from talking about wow classic wherever they come from. People who have played it for a decade and people who have played it for a week or people who have never played classic but want to see what the community is like should all be welcome. There is already a restriction that you need a wow account to post. You can only access classic if you have a paid subscription so the only purpose your request would serve is to put a payment requirement on posting which should not have a payment requirement.
If it’s anything like GD on retail, you do already need an active subscription to post. So there already is a payment requirement.
I have posted without an subscription before, not sure what the current implementation is.
We could put it at level 40 instead if you’re more comfortable with that, troll?
Forum levels also don’t represent actual levels, but I guess you’re not familiar with that since you’re just a tourist.
See Harrand for example? He’s not level 22. It says he is, but he isn’t.
I think there is an additional hidden requirement. I can’t select any of my Retail characters even though I have loads of them. I can only select Classic characters.
I think this is because the last time I played any of the Retail characters was in WoD. So I guess I must log in with them again to be able to select them for posting in the forums.
And yes the Retail characters still exist. Weirdly enough I could select them in the archived and read only section of the forums. Just not the active forums.
Seeing as Tourism is a lifeblood industry for many communities and that Tourists are people (toons) just like you & me, it seems unnecessarily aggressive and xenophobic to denigrate them and demand they be treated like cattle.
This is WoW not Combat 18.
Hey, I’m posting on my original vanilla character. Damn I was a n00b back then.
Re-rolled on a PvE server when TBC dropped to play with a group of friends. I think I did a couple of Outland quests on this char before re-rolling.
It will not matter to me…
…because my chars…
… share the same name…
(sorry, couldn’t help it)
