Return the Clone Service MEGATHREAD

Now you know. You had the option to play in either Era or Burning Crusade for free (or both for a fee).

I’m not sure if you are serious or not… Rofl…

Sorry but nowhere in the world is it ok for a company to cause massive dataloss for a customer without actively contacting and warning them so that they have the chance to save their data.

And these arguments do not cut it:

“Well we did have a blogpost on our webpage…”
“Well if you had Twitter and followed us there…”

You actively contact the customer and make sure they are informed.

They did but you chose not to receive those emails and if Blizzard sent you those they could be breaking the law, dependant on the country.

Removed - Can’t be bothered!

Nobody ever showed a email with subjegt line “Character Clone Seervice will end on 26th”
I had mails, only like “See our new Expansion”, “Discount on Holiday package” and like subject. If you then open mail and read, in bottom “Clone service is retiring”.
This is not informing in my book.

Thats true, i paid clone services and now my characters are deleted. this is blizzard, money addicts

Did you try opening a ticket to complain?

It’s odd that when I ask people who have said this go to their transactions and then never come back to post as they actually didn’t pay for a clone.

Haha this was exactly my thoughts when I realized all my characters were deleted and they had/might have some “service” where you have to pay to get access to your characters again. I thought; “hey, that sounds exactly like ransomware!” =´D

Smh…

They were not deleted, they are exactly where you left them.

Eh? No they aren´t. But if it makes you feel any better I can use Blizzard´s support own wording instead:

Your characters have been “purged”.

Here is a dictionary for you:

Purge:
1. To clear (a container or space, for example) of something unclean or unwanted.
2. To remove or eliminate.
3. To rid (a person or thing) of something unwanted.

Unless YOU moved them to Era then they are EXACTLY where YOU left them as those realms moved on to TBC then Wrath.

The Era realms are not the old Classic Vanilla realms.

Great! I will open a new ticket and inform Blizzard that they are wrong and that they never did purge my characters. Thanks a bunch for the clarification I never needed! =´D

People like you bore me. You had your chance and you had plenty of time. If era hadn’t been revived like it has been for months, you’d still give a f… about an era character. So go cry

I played continuouosly. I knew about Clones, I played most Era all time  Only 2 went to TBC-C and then on to Wrath. So I live fine with my many Era Characters. Just saying that would be nice to have back “home” last two as well.

People like you with lacking reading comprehension is most boring kind.

You obviously have no idea what actually happened back then so I told you.

If you were playing at the time it ended then you would have known it was ending and should have cloned. It’s too late now.

There were no misunderstanding between me and Blizzard about what happend. I’m not sure what stone you crawled out from under but like I said, I can write a new ticket and inform Blizzard that their wording “purged” is not to your liking. Hopefully it will make you sleep better.

How many times I have to say: I did NOT clone back then because

  1. it was too expensive
  2. I liked TBC and Wrath when they were actual content
  3. I kept all but 2 (TWO) characters in Era, where I have played most, still play almost exclusively, and probably will continue play only.

Now - or rather long ago - already when TBC-C was made shorter, made on last patch and was not fun as it was, and later with patch 1.14 that “retailized” Wrath-C I regret not have left all in Era.
I still hope for clones, not much for me – would be nice to have last two “home” but not an issue as I have around 14 characters from back Classic still in Era, and innumerable alts made along the way – but for those that did not see the “Clone service is retiring” in bottom of emails titled like: “See our new Expansion” or “Discount on Holiday package”

Is 5€ expensive?

You are wrong, you don’t know how it worked when the new Era realms were activated and you are assuming it worked a certain way when it didn’t.

Show where blizzard have said purged.

I can tell you know you are wrong as the insults you throw are to cover up your embarrassment.

It was for me that time. You know even in a western country not everybody is “rich” all time. Of course 10 € – remember 2 toons – is not much money, but was too many for gaming purpose that while.
