and i think if blizzard dont post anythink about this after all this forum post in EU/US, twits to Warcraft,Mike Ybarra i think(hope) they will bring it back. but i dont know blizzard not it self after panda.

- Theres 100s posting (lurking numbers will be WAY higher) people that want: or the clone service back, or a new blue post saying it will never come back
- Theres like 5 people (dottie and co) against that, that have nothing to gain or lose from this, or to add to this discussion
- You guys say there already is such a blue post , there is not
- there is a post from customer service saying THEY cant help us (sure, the service is down and theyre not devs)
- The original post saying the clones will be deleted was logical when there was low demand, now it isnt anymore. Purging this data is not logical. These chars where available for clone to the ptr for SoM naxx after their promised āperma delete dateā. The demand is now here
- So we want a new post, from Blizzard, now that things have turned around
For me and my friend group; we would pay 100ā¬+ for our mains back. We genuinely missed this deadline and we did not know this service would ever disappear.
Or - after being so gutted to find out the service disappeared - we would like a post so we can move on. And no, although im sure its with the best intentions, not from some forum guys

The data was purged and deleted according to the GDPR, which mean permanently.
Yes, the demand is here but they said the data would be permanently deleted a few weeks after the end of July. I am sure I have linked that many times. Copying from wrath to the Wrath PTR is not the same as copying to Era.

Data in the EU has to be deleted according to the GDPR guidelines by law, especially if it contains personal information.
I didnāt know there was an SoM PTR currently. Last time I thought it was a template for SoM not a copy.
@Dottie u spend far too much time here in the forums talking about things you have absolutely cero clue about.
They will bring back this service if its in their best interest. Simple as that.

I also lost my characters, Iām really pissed but blizzard does not seems to care about classic players, we are just the dairy cattle

My characters were on a french server and have been migrated to an English server without notification, complete mess, the guys taking those decisions should be fired and never be allowed to work in the video game industry anymore

And the data for most things were for all they knew deleted until they found a backup of a backup with 1.12 and some of 1.11 on it, and if it would have been a few more years that data would have been gone as well seeing as it was a tape backup tape is so senesative that we are lucky they still had anything readable on it.
Deleting or just putting data in deep storage is something companies do, if the clone data is not outright deleted like Blizzard stated it was it will be in deep storage (and character data is not likely to be put in deep storage tbh you put important things like a item data base in deep storage) now and data in deep storage have a tendency to be misplaced. For everyone except a select few server engineers and developers anything put into deep storage might as well be counted as deleted as they wont dig anything up from there unless they need to

Iām afraid asking here wonāt achieve much. Youāre better off asking the developers on Twitter or some other social media platform. Alternatively, try posting on US forums. EU forums rarely if ever get any response from the developers. The chances of this or similar threads being seen and answered are astronomically low.
You are not a classical player. You are a hype player who just wants to take a look at the current situation again. An email a year ago wouldnāt have done anything about your current situation as they would never have cloned her character for money because classic was dead at the time. I hope that it is not technically possible to reintroduce the service.

I know, but I suggested that they add their voice there. That thread looks like a good place to do that. The chances of being answered by the devs are low even there, but better than near zero they have here.
Iāve even tweeted the devs about it and got no reply as the warcraft devs twitter is hardly used.
