-no devouring plague or shadow guard = way less dmg as shadow or disc in pvp
-fighting shamans = super cancer (bye bye bubble, hello one shut burst and non stop interrupts), paladins are way easier to deal with
-tons of undead out there = aoe fear and mind control are useless half of the time
-Most pvp videos out there are from horde priests, I can’t find a single alliance priest pvp video worth it
I went dwarf priest because I love the idea of playing a drunken, beardy priest, and because I prefer alliance overall. But it looks like it was definitely a bad idea: shadow spec is way worse as aliance, and pvp looks less fun as priest and so on…
I feel like shadow is super useless on the alliance side, and more boring to play overall.
I think I’ll just focus on pve for the entirety of vanilla, and play discipline in tbc when both factions have both shamans and paladins, and dwarf disc priest is actually very good for pvp.
Every alliance class and race sucks compared to their horde counterpart, except when you bring a holy paladin to the party, then the tables start turning around…but that’s not most of the time.
I got an ally priest too, I’m only gonna pve with him, and I’ll play him in tbc too. So I understand where you’re coming from
You are talking about 1v1 only, in that case ur right. Paladins 1v1 stand no chance even if they were blood elevs, they are healers a support class in wow not 1v1:ers. Try dealing with them in organized pvp, everyone has trinket or fear ward so the result for psychic scream is the same except that you cant even use it to interrupt because fear ward disallows interruption. Your dev plague gets dispelled by paladins who intended to cleanse something else.
Your paladins have blessing of sacrifice that makes them almost immune to sheeps and saps , your paladins give you blessing of freedom so you can run away from the warriors that are constantly on you hamstringing. Your paladins can divine shield whenever while wearing plate and shield and only to have your mana burn or mc resisted because paladins have an insane resistance against shadow.
The only thing remaining is having a mage counterspelling with improved cs csing a paladin and besides priests are the only defensive dispellers on horde side which makes playing a horde priest really annoying.
Yes, shadow is a meme, your mistake was playing shadow, not playing alliance.
Stop posting false assumptions . Why support faction imbalance further more ? Horde dont always win AB , horde dont always win WSG , horde wins AV mostly only because map favours them. WSG is always premade horde or ally , AB is semi premade horde or ally . Poolwise both factions have thier fair share of good teams .
As you can see I am R10 which means I have done my fair share of PvP.
Here’s what happens in reality:
Alliance never has any Holy Paladins. We only have rets.
Nobody alliance side cleanses or dispels or decurses anything at all.
Alliance never get holy priests, we only get shadow priests.
Alliance loadins, who all play as Retardins, never ever cast Freedom on anyone else but themselves so they can get to you in order to auto-attack you with their 2H for 480 damage.
Alliance Loladins do not have Blessing of Sacrifice. In the unlikely event that there is an Alliance loladin with the right spec for Blessing Of Sacrifice and they actually make it to a BG, they never use it because they didn’t have enough gold to buy the spell from a trainer.
Alliance side, nobody ever heals you. I got through about 20 healing draughts from AV vendor per day as well as 2-3 stacks of food and like 20-30 bandages per day when I was farming rank because there was usually nobody there to heal me and those who could heal preferred to do “DPS”.
Throughout my journey to Rank 10, no loladin ever gave me Freedom and I never saw Loladins casting freedom on anyone else but themselves.
I spent at least 40% of my time in battlegrounds bandaging, eating, drinking or potting because nobody healed, cleansed, decursed.
Dwarf priests don’t even cast Fear Ward on me in raids (I play a Rogue). When I asked why, they answered that Fear Ward has got an internal cooldown and it’s on global cooldown so it is very annoying they said to even try to buff the melees, even those who do Top DPS.
In organized PvP, I have never ever seen Dwarf priests cast Fear Ward on anyone else but themselves. Frequently they don’t even cast it on themselves either b/c they can’t bother.
Compare this to Horde Shamans who litter the entire battleground with Totem Farms with near spammable fear totems and grounding totems thus making fear completely useless versus Horde.
Grounding totems are really Scuffed and in only works on party grp so in AB where everybody is spamming spells and considering it has a 15 sec cooldown a mage can easily trick a shaman into wasting it.
Yeah ive encountered a lot of ret paladins that run around with tuf being completely useless the same way we also have enh shamans that are useless besides landning two purges on their target and are oom. In my experience of AV horde has less dispellers and healers and the games we won against pugs has always been due to the allies lacking offensive dispels or healers.
Nah. Current horde racials are not enough, they should be stronger
Please please please Blizzard! Give them paladins and an aoe silence racial.
Oh wait…
There’s a simple Ret code I follow:
-Only heal good players.
-Only Freedom good players.
-Hunters are lowest priority for heals - Melee take more damage generally and keeping up actual healers is more of a priority when they get focused.
-Freedom goes on Arms Warrior and Rogues if they are good. Never on a hunter.
Unfortunate that you rolled a hunter but in general you will always be the lowest priority for heals and support in group PvP.
Also to the horde players commenting on Blessings such as sacrifice - they can be purged so Paladins are not immune to CC if your priests and shamans are doing their jobs.
retards play ret, you’re part of the reason why alliance sucks in pvp. You ret paladins are just special snowflakes at the end of the day anyways: druids, priests, and shamans understand that they’re hybrid classes, but you gotta play your …itty ret spec because you feel so special.
I hate paladins so much in vanilla my god, you guys disgust me
Since when do Horde have a map favour? You are delusional. Alliance jump over a wall so hard to get in, we get a bridge of death to get overwith 0 cover from the archer towers. Both sides have a back door.
How alliance are supposed to do solo drek ( which rarely happens pug wise because the majority doesnt know) :-
How Horde solo pull van naturally. And this is done majority of the games as horde pug wise because its intended :-
Horde backdoor strat skip video to minute 3. ( Any hybrid spec can pull this off and you dont need any CC to cap the flag because no ELITE npc at gy flagin comparison to RH gy ) :-
How to backdoor horde as an alliance ( you literally need CC to cap that GY flag because elite npc ):-
Conclusion , you can see how minimal effort is required for horde to use any of those advantages in comparison to alliance ; where , they need specific requirements to do any of the " Similar " advantages which the alliance has . As how many people has claimed.
The couple of times I dared venture into a bg, I noticed noone bothered to try keep me safe. I just joined for some fun, in my pve raiding spec, so me being squishy as hell was my own responsibility , but if you want heals, make sure you do everything you can to give healers the chance to do so. If you actually do so, thank you! If not, it might improve the results.
Yeah, this reminds me why I’ve re-rolled from horde to alliance back then when I started to play WoW even though I always wanted to play Tauren.
I always thought that horde have it easier.
It might not be very smart from me to do this but I always choose the more difficult path just for the sake of challenge, watching as everyone is mocking the faction/race/class I’ve decided to play.
Was it a bad idea? Should I have rolled horde after all?
