Rules for Official Classic Hardcore Realms

Would agree with this. Might not be polished but a way to start. Trading at lvl 60 should be available anyways, otherwise there won’t be many raids. But free trade for all…that’s going to end in a mess.

I don’t see the risk for buyers, i know a lot of them and no one ever got banned. Blizzard just bans some bots periodically and it’s not enough to really hurt them as recent reports have shown. Restricting trading to lvl 60 might turn them off a bit as the market wouldn’t be as profitable as in other WoW versions.

Cheating is nothing on my side … I don’t like it.

But I don’t feel that non-forced DC’d shouldn’t be ripped off from appeals. At the very end is something you can’t control yourself.

Other thing is abusing from system and forcing a DC’d in dangerous moments. In that case, may Blizzard could make you sent, as proof, any kind of cripted keyboard log. That way if they record your DC’d due to an Alt+F4 keypress … your appeal is dismissed.

They won’t do this job. A death is a death, live with it!

Some could kill the Warcraft process, besides on official realms you stay connected for 20-30 seconds after you Alt-F4, only the addon can be cheated in this way.

It does not work that way … but almost.

When client is running, is always sending “queries” to the server-side, maybe asking for new information, maybe updating your information. When client stops receiving responses from server-side, after some retries, it tries to make a force login and if it fails, then you’re disconnected. Therefore, stopping the game client by force (Alt+F4 or kill the process) breaks the process above, so it there’s a kind of record or log, is possible to determine if the client DC’d by a server-side issue, a network issue or by any human action.

The thing is that, obviously, in order to avoid cheats and key-loggers, that record should be ciphered or crypted and only Blizzard be able to read it.

I just checked and it takes 65 seconds to disappear ingame if you Alt-F4 or kill the process in Era. Btw I think you are wrong about the client trying relog you in as it’s been killed and is no longer active and the rest of it is just a guess.

I doubt Blizzard will record all that data for every login as it would mean vast amounts of data.

What you are suggesting is far too much work, to then have to go trawling through all that data just to check for every appeal.

No, they are going to say if you die in any way, we flag your character as a ghost permanently and there won’t be any appeals.

Blizzard aren’t going to let anyone access the data anyway as it’s goes against the GDPR.

Why not just implement the hc community rules and just make them official. There. Job done.

Mainly because there is more than one level to hardcore.

At the most minimal it’s just not dying, at the other end is complete solo with nothing except white gear and weapons.

Because not all no-death challengers agree as to which ruleset is right one
