Yes, that is sad. They should rise the honor for WSG and later AB like they did in SoD. As soon as they did that, the nice BGs had their instant pops again. And AV was dead. So you can see that the majority doesn’t enter AV “for fun”.
Well, yesterday morning I decided that I want some 10-19 PvP and made me a little lock. In the evening there were instant pops with no time for a cigarette between them. At 12:30am I decided to log out bc I saw myself queueing for some more hours if I didn’t.
PvP isn’t fun in the first place for many people, so rushing in AV makes the rep grind bearable. Blame Blizzard for putting gear that is too good to miss out on for PvE’ers behind a PvP rep.
I do find it funny though. Back in the vanilla days, the people on PvP realms complained that queues for AV were too long. It took “forever” (literally hours) to get into an AV. So Blizzard put PvP and PvE realms into battlegroups together, to make queues shorter. Then when the queues were shorter, the PvP’ers complained that the PvE’ers were no good at PvP and didn’t do the BGs properly. NO S**T SHERLOCK! PvE’ers generally don’t care about the PvP, and want to rush for quick BG finish. Sure, if you enjoy the PvP gameplay, you want it to last. If you loathe it, you want it over and done with asap.
There is no way to please everybody.

If they don’t like PvP, why are they doing this? Nothing you can get in pvp has any counterpart in pve…
Items obtainable via PvP/BGs are of interest only for those who do not like the Pve precisely…
It’s pure madness the mentality of WoW players currently, they obviously do nothing for fun, everything is an obligation just to be able to parade in Orgrimmar with their stuff “BiS” or to increase by 0.1% their dps just to have the impression of having accomplished something in their life. This is literally the definition of cancer, they alter and destroy everything that they touch.
This. I really don’t understand the mentality of these players. They play content which they themselves say they don’t really enjoy to obtain better items, which enable them to play even more of the content they say they don’t enjoy.
This would make sense if there was anything at the end of this spiral which they do enjoy. There’s nothing though. It’s just an endless cycle.
However, I don’t judge here. They are free to do whatever they like, but please let them have their own seperate min-maxer servers so the rest of us are not affected by their playstyle. It just ruins everything.

Also tge thing with vanilla is that you get bis items from pvp to pve. And a 90g mount that saves you 1k gold.
AV is poorly designed, so the meta kids broke it completely. So boring.
Luckily the best bg WSG is still great.
I got called a retard for taking a tower Instead of trying to cheese the boss. Last time i played AV I’m sure it was perfectly acceptable to take the four towers and then kill the weakend boss.

Yeah some people can be rude.
Its ofcourse acceptable to do all towers. However you usually dont have the time doing so before the game is over by the other team winning.

this is indeed a thing thats ruining the game for so many, most of the people i enjoy playing with have already said a big FY middlefinger and quitted, the min maxers and greedyness is seriously ruining a perfectly fine MMORPG, cause they feel the need to play it like a singleplayer facebook game.
they dont care for working together, they dont care for others.
all they want is the best gear so they clear the content asap and then whine that the game is boring and dead…
If rather drag myself through AV like this than to sit afk dead at a GY in WSG vs premades 95% of the time.

Every thing in classic is alredy counted in maximising and not.
to do 6 min AV,s is the max if you win.
But right now it’s the side whit most epic mounts that wins. You can delay things by having mages and hunters slow it down.
I farmed AV this weekend as much as i could, but its sooo boring and i had to take breaks from it after 1 houer. Still im 10k rep from exalted and way ower in honor than i need.
For maximising rep im not sure what is best way.
So you think, buffing, then running the same exact route for 3-4 minutes and then try and kill the boss before the other faction is fun? Sure maybee the first few times, espcially if you win, but doing the same 5 min run 100 times pr week? If you think that is fun, you are weird. People do it for rep and honor. Maybee it’s fun to see those bars and numbers ticking up, but if it would tick up just as fast doing some actual PVP and play this BG as it was ment to be played, I bet over 90% would have chosen that option and just the AFKers would be mad as they can’t leech to the same extent then, as they would be to far away from the battle to get honor and rep.
AV is perfect designed just the ppl with “10 kids, 3 wifes and 2 jobs” cried to Blizzard so they made the shell of AV used during prepatch for TBC.
Original Vanilla AV could last for days but ofc the ppl cried they can just play 6 minutes at a time. And they will report U if U try anything else than rush boss.
Blizzard please bring back original perfect AV!
It’s not the dads with 10 kids and 3 jobs who created this situation, they just buy gold.
It’s mainly the sweaty min-maxers who optimize everything, even the fun (as long as the fun is still present in their minds) and rush the content by all means possible.
You know these progamerzzz so much better than the vanilla noobs in 2005-2006, that they can’t clean MC without complete pre-bis stuff (mastercard power), with addons that play in their place and the complete collection of Worldbuffs available and finally grind rank 14 without doing pvp.

Well its the “dads with 10 kids, 3 wifes and 2 jobs” who cried hard on the forums to give quick fast AV and no way we can have 1 day AV as in old Vanilla.
Like they can buy gold but they cant trade gold for honor points so they cried about the only thing they cant just buy unless they buy some guy to play for them (at that moment I dont care cause its a human playing, same would be with gold if Blizzard was able to remove bots and real humans would have to farm the gold. Because even if they managed to remove goldbuying just like the bots, someone could still hire a guy to play their char and farm the gold. So its impossible to remove pay to win but please remove the bots + give normal BG).
The point is those people with 10 kids, 3 wifes and 2 jobs they want to play the AV themselves so they cried for fast stuff aka prepatch TBC AV.
If Blizzard gave us original Vanilla AV then “sweaty min-maxers” would have to play the normal way doing full AV. Only thing they could do is make deal with allies “We win one and then you win one fast, fast” but literally nothing else since old AV was not doable in 6 min.
So this is Blizzard fault to cater to people crying on the forums “fast fast”, they had the ideal AV already aka prepatch AV from Vanilla and they CHOOSE to not use it in game even if we are in P1 and not in preTBC patch…
If this were the case, there would be almost no more AV because everyone will go premade WG as this will be the new best method of farming honors.
Whatever happens there will never be any more PvP for fun with this community, that’s a fact. The wow classic adventure ends once lvl60, because after that the fun disappears. Do you want to pvp? You’re not here to have fun but to optimize your grind. Pve? Check pre-bis/Worldbuffs/flasks/HR. Use AH? Inflation is insane. Farm your harvesting job? Everything is invaded by Bots.
And if you ever persevere, by the time you catch up, TBC will already be there.
Well there would still be AV since all the single queue or queue with 2 others ppl would go AV.
Who would enjoy being stomped by premade in WSG? So in the end premade would be fighting premade in WSG and they would find out its not fun when opponent resists and they would probably go back to AV.
Its what happened in original Vanilla. On Darksorrow the AV was going on all the time and you could join at anytime almost without queue even when it was just one server and it was small.
You also had honor and rep gains for completing repetable quests in the AV and I think honor system still gave you honor in AV even after U killed same alli 4 times.
It was a perfect AV but Blizz CHOOSE to drop it and use the ruined prepatch TBC AV.
Yeah, i still remember, all the ppl (mostly DKs) spaming AV during the begining of woltk classic because a random Youtuber demonstrated it was the fastest way to level up. Then LFG with auto tp in instances came out and everybody just leveled in dungeon. No place for fun and personal preferences here, just minmax stuff.
Until last night, I thought blitzing the boss was only possible in retail. I guess Classic and Retail players aren’t too dissimilar after all.
They certainly know how to suck every inch of fun and PVP out of the game in an attempt to rank up in PVP.
