[Scarlet RP] The Crimson Inherent đŸ”„

Guess I’ll retrace my pilgrimage to the Monastary back south once more

Just to spark some life into the Thread and give those following it a bit of a read - Hope you enjoy. More coming fairly soon.

With a sense of urgency, an individual could have been witnessed, scouring through the Library Sanctum-- They were hobbling from side to side, bookcase to shelf. All the while, the distraught elderly man was uttering indistinguishable phrases and musings to himself. Carrying heavy loads of tomes and leather scroll casings, the Arcanist Mephastis Arnstead made his way back to an already overflowing table that now functioned as his work station. Taking centre stage this time was no Relic of the Holy Light-- No Censer that would turn the tide in skirmishes to come-- No. Cushioned against the rough wooden boards of the surface by a satin pillow was to be examined a single piece of jewellery. Those that took heed whilst observing the Magus from time to time mayhap could have recognised said ring; it was a specimen of golden nature, gilded and inscribed with numerous runes and scriptures of old - Arcane and Thalassian tongue interwoven as one: this band of pure golden ore was a feat of blacksmithing prowess and mastery-- As well as expert inscription skills. Yet, its most noticeable feature would be the single, blood red gem that was fitted into a socket somewhere along the gilded band. The jewel was the size of a thumbnail, yet appeared to posses depths that boggled the mind-- Endless depths to behold when peered into. And inside of this crimson sea, swirls of fire and scorching mass. The ring seemed to coil and writhe within with a life essence of its own - Ny’arra, as you may have heard the Magus speak out once or twice, The Heart of Flame.

The Magus’ jewellery was displayed as is, yet one factor had to be noted still: the ruby-esque gem that crested atop the gilded band showed a single, albeit jagged crack in its blood-red surface. The fracture spread from one end to the other, its oval shape nigh-on witnessed as divided in two halves by this phenomenon. The swirling essence harboured deep within the crimson abyss would clash with the surface of the gem time and time again-- Flame and blaze licking tentatively at the divide-- Almost as if prodding for an escape. Momentarily, the flame transfigured itself from non-corporeal to nigh physical
Should anyone else but the Arcanist have been present, they could behold how the blazing fire took on the shape of a pair of heads-- Gaping maws, filled with rows upon rows of broadsword-like teeth and fangs. Draconic visages that spewed forth a trailing fire of their own. The echoing roar of what could only have been described as an ancient, slumbering beast could be heard rolling through the Halls-- With its source, Ny’arra.

They collided with the ruby’s inner wall, crashing hard against the seemingly impenetrable barrier that was created by this Arcanist’s ring. Soon thereafter, the Draconic shapes flickered-- Afore dying out again, being whisked back to flits of blazing fire instead; shapeless yet stirring.

Mephastis would have examined this last, violent reaction-- His eyes wide in shocked anticipation and terror. He sat down thereafter and chanted incantations aplenty. Hours he toiled there, making sure that Ny’arra would not shatter.

The Monastery would not survive their onslaught if it did.

Liberation! The Crimson Inherent has begun their assault on the Scarlet Halls. They took up arms to face the dreaded enemy, for far too long have these abominations sullied these sacred grounds! Commander Clifford and a team of Crusaders set into the Training Grounds, making noise to drive the enemy out of their hiding. And indeed it had worked, slowly the undead emerged, one by one.

The Crusaders quickly postioned themselves defensively to balance out the number disadvantage. The Undead seemed to act more intelligent than the usual Scourge, being able to improvise and adapt to situations during the battle, alas they were cut down by the combined force and leadership of the Crusaders.

After the Undeads Vanguard fell, the true evil had shown its face, a Crimson clad Death Knight, leading his Scarlet Elite against the Crusaders. After a long and bloody battle, the Scarlet Elite succumed to the tactical superiority of the Crusaders. With his forces beaten, the Knight retreated further into the Scarlet Halls. Some asked to chase the Knight, but the Commander told them to hold and establish a postition on the Training Grounds, in order to prepare for a final push against the enemy. In the coming days the liberation of the Scarlet Halls will reach its climax, with the victor to be decided

“Finally, the Scarlet Halls are ours Once more! Glory under the Light!”

In their hearts, they knew the Assault would finally begin. The Monastery held its breath, waiting to see which side would make the final, daring move. As fortune would have it, the Crusaders moved first. After the Commander informed the Men that the Crimson Death Knight was hiding in the Armory. When the orders reached the Crusaders to finally Liberate the Monastery, their morale soared. For better or worse, this would be the beginning of the end

They began pushing themselves through the Undead lines, slaughtering evry undead they could find and drawing ever closer to the Crimson Death Knights position. Once the Line was cleared, the Crimson Death Knight was waiting for the Crusaders inside the Huntsman’s Cloister, along with a detachment of his Guardsmen. The Battle was bloody, The Undead had them outmanned by a three-to-one margin. Many times the Undead could’ve broken then line and focing them to fall back, were it not for the resilience and iron will of their troops and Commander.

With the Risen Scarlets defeated, the Crimson Death Knight retreated once more into the Hall of Champions, along with his own personal guards. Locked in one-to-one combat with the Death Knight proved to be a difficult task, for all the time the Commander had struck several blows against the powerful undead, he would follow up with a heavy hitting counter, alas with Tenacity and Faith they prevailed. As Clifford cut off the hand of the Death Knight with a swift motion, the runeblade fell to the ground, and the Death Knight to his knees, accepting his fate.

“Now your Service has finally ended, may the Heresy that you have brought be forgotten, and be remembered how you were in life. I banish you to the Nether, never to return”

With that The Commander sliced off the Head of the Crimson Death Knight, the Scarlet Halls was finally theirs again.

With the death of the Crimson death Knight at the hands of Commander Clifford, the Monastery Assault had broken the back of the Monastery’s Risen. With the Armory in thier control, they can now provide Weapons and Armor for those able to wield and wear them. This day marks a glorious victory for the Crimson Inherent.

Tonight, Cardigal Thondius was a new member of the Brotherhood. He was allowed to bear the scarlet flame and the crimson armor. He felt the Light inside his veins telling him he was right. He was right to join this order of Light’s crusaders. So proud Cardigal was tonight.

Right after this verry sacred moment, the Brotherhood went in the valley. There they noticed tracks
Weird tracks, they leaded them to a massive Spider surrounded by webs and nests
With the power of Light they managed to burn the eggs and the evil spider. He was so proud
The Light helped him to throw his blessed hammer right into the ugly face of the dark spider. Today was a good day for Cardigal Thondius. But he still has a lot to prove to his Brothers

Intrigued by the sudden appearance of a new star in the skies, Lieutenant Ballard decides to call for a patrol towards the Foothills. It was clear that the appearance of that dull object was not a good omen. Never had stars obscured the sun before. Losing no time, the Crusaders got on their horses and rode for the Foothills below Alterac slopes.

Their fears soon proved to turn true. It was a necropolis. Sylvarus, the Stygian Star, was crowning the mounts of Alterac with its presence. Casting its shadows upon the mountains, it was as if it sought to defile the land itself. The proclamation of Holy War against this new Scourge offensive was soon uttered upon the fields. The Light willed it !

The faithful started building their forwards camp, planning their assault on the unholy citadel. Tents were placed, fires were lit and consecrations were uttered. So much effort soon wasted by the devastation rained down by Wildhammer Gryphon Riders who crashed down their stormhammers upon the Scarlet camp.

Battle soon ensued and no side seemed to take a clear advantage. While the dwarves were boasting their wings, the soldiers were boasting their faith and crossbows, trying to take down the gigantic beasts. Much blood was drawn and many belligerents were left knocked out or bleeding out. To their dismay, the riders had to retreat, lest their gryphons be hijacked by the Crusade.

A bitter victory for the Crusade. Survival is always a victory. Yet, those wounds would postpone the assault on the Citadel for some days. Without an able body, faith can not carry mountains.

Thanks to the Knight Gryphon and Clan Stormhammer for yesterday’s event !
The Crusaders are now in the Foothills, plotting to lay a hand upon the Stygian Star or its inhabitants. While we may not be logged on everyday, we are open for a meeting (most likely hostile) if you notify us OOC.

Tonight was the night. The Crusaders were finally rested and healed for their assault. A whole day of contemplation and prayers behind them, they implored the mercy of the Divine to carry them through their holy endeavour. Tonight, they would strike down the Stygian Star with the fury of a thousand sun.

Calling upon the rally, Ballard gathered his faithful and marched for the towers of Alterac. Their elevation and shape would provide the perfect ritual circle to fit their needs. Circles of Holy waters were etched into the floor of the construction and the Censer placed upon its center. Holy Magics were invoked, gathering the Light into the Censer of Stratholme.

Alas, the ritual was cut short ! An ambush of undead surged into the tower and barred their retreat path. Blades were drawn and shields opposed. Steel, faith and magic clashed in a cacophonic orchestra, each musicians trying to outperform the opposing one. From one side, the Holy Censer imbued the Crusader with the power of the Light while the soldiers of the Baron welcomed the Void into their very selves.

Both sides suffered heavy wounds. Alas, the undead endurance was too much for them to overcome. Tearing a hole into the veil of reality, the Crimson Arcanist relocated the faithful to a more favourable position where they were promptly followed by the Grim Gest.

In order to protect his soldiers, Lieutenant Ballard implored the Holy Light for its assistance. A massive dome of Light formed around the Crusaders, fueled by the collective prayers of the Scarlets. On the opposite side, the Baron was convoking the void with his black tongue. Blasphemous words resonnated within the Twin Serpents ranks as their power of shadows rose.

Ballard finally unleashed the Holy magic : the bubble twirled and fired a vortex of holy winds towards the fiends. The void cultists did the same, their power concentrating into a beam of Twilight Devastation. Light and Dark, Good and Evil are locked into cosmic battle – the air grows thick with doom and the ground trembles in fear. The forces collide – a grand explosion follows !

Both sides were thus pushed away, exhausted and forced to retreat. The Crusaders slowly walked down the slopes of Hillsbrad back to their camps where they met with more Crimson Remnants. Battered and broken, they needed to focus on their recovery.

Thanks a lot to the Grim Gest for this epic battle. Hoping there’ll be more to come. Beware beware of us. Your Citadel will fall!

Dire reports from Tirisfal brought the attention of the Crusaders back from the slopes of Alterac. Indeed, there was words of Argent infestation within the Scarlet Palissade. It was decided to take a look into those rumors and ensue the escape routes of the faithful stay assured. Caught between the Forsaken Hammer and an Argent Anvil, the Scarlet would most certainly perish.

Once at the Palissade, the disappointment was grand : no Argent or Forsaken was in sight. Tempering their lust for heathen blood, the soldiers of the Light elected to spend the next few days within the protective walls of the Palissade. Indeed, their wounds from their assault against the Necropolis were not quite mended yet. Tents were laid out, tables erected and fires sparked under the command of Lieutenant Ballard.

Peace and quiet was shortlived, however, with the arrival of more Crimson Clad soldiers. A whole procession of them penetrated the enclave, following the Spectre who fancied being called Dioni. The head of this expedition soon requested an audience with the leader of the Inheritents. Due to Clifford’s absence, Ballard stepped forwards and invited the other Scarlets within his encampment. “Welcome them as Brothers !” he proclaimed under the dubious eyes of his soldiers.

While the two warbands got acquinted with each other, Ballard and Irwin sat around the wartable. Through uncharacteristic diplomacy, Iwin asked for a pact of non agression. He would hold the Eastweald and the Inheritents would protect the lands from Tirisfal to Hillsbrad. Unsatisfied with so little, Ballard pleaded for a united Scarlet Front. Their enemies were numerous and only through unity could the Crimson Flame endure. Terms and conditions were met
And alas, the accord has to be sealed through blood.

Brother Marol was henceforth called forwards to pay for his past crimes against the soldiers of Dathrohan. Ten lashes and two brandings were required to atone for his sins. Madness once more caught on to the Scarlets as they tortured their own on the altar of the Crusade. While the soldier was viciously lashed, the soldiers of Dathrohan relished in his agony. However, the Inheritents gritted their teeth in disapproval, smiting Ballard through their gaze.

Lieutenant Ballard knew it. There had to be prices if the Crusade had to endure. And he would make the choices that’d benefit the Scarlet Crusade as a whole.Such was the burden placed on his shoulder. It would all come to fruition once Lordaeron would be free from the taint of the Scourge, the heresy of the Alliance and the shadows of the Forsaken. The Light willed it.

The Inheritents struck a bargain with another Scarlet Chapter and are currently residing at the Scarlet Palissade (Old Tirisfal). If you want to meet, feel free to send us an ingame message to set up something.

Days after the Inherent and the met to discuss the terms of a united Scarlet front, their Commander arrived at the Scarlet Palisade, ready to hear the demands to Seal the accord.

Just as the Commander arrived, the Adherents of the “Crimson Legion” as they say, considered a succesor chapter to the Hilt of Dathrohan, have captured a Human presumably wanting to join, shouting their procalations of faith and threats of harm against the captured heathen if they were to speak against them.

The verbal Hostilities shown towards his men, mainly Arcanist Mephastis was a thorn in the eye of the Commander. For him this wouldn’t stand if it were to come to an Alliance.

The Negotiations were tense. Many of the Other Soldiers would share viewpoints and actions viewed critically at best to the Inherent. One of the Reasonable men on the negotiation table proved to be Sigismond de Rouen. A man which both the Crimson Legion and Inherent share respect and was chosen to be the Negotiator of the two sides.

Many times petty arguments errupted during the negotiations, often being quelled by the Leaders of the seperate orders and De Rouen.

Alas after much turmoil, both sides agreed to the terms laid out by De Rouen, whom was also elected as the Leader of this new Union by Vote. The final accord was sealed and the Union between the two orders had begun, going by the name “Dathrohan’s Verdict.”

Thanks to the Seal of Dathrohan for the Meeting.

I wish I had a Human character right now :sob: :sob: :sob:

well as a former scarlet rper who was bored of the toxicity and ic and ooc drama
i’m probs not gonna go out of my way to rejoin the scene at large or anything (i’m quite happy and quite busy with my current rp chars)
but i was wholly expecting this to just be another of those kinds of guilds to keep a cautious distance of ith the expectation of it ending the same way guilds like the sov’s second iteration or the sigil of the seven ended up. or, in more recent examples, well, that certain one in duskwood

i’m actually rather pleasantly surprised by this thread for the most part. obviously not surprised at the people more wary of the concept (happens every scarlet thread) and trolling (also happens most every scarlet thread) hmm. i more than likely won’t return to scarlet rp, but my scarlet still oocly sits in my alts list, begging to one day be dusted off and permitted to rp again

so, if i had to pick a scarlet guild
 maybe this one.

and im also curious to see interactions with, ahem, non-zealots

edit: clarification, sounded like i was an ex-member of this guild in particular but i am not
