Seriously.. why didn´t you just choose PVE server?

Guys seriously… it´s a genuine question. And I just keep wondering why. It is apparent you don´t like PVP. So why didn´t you just choose PVE servers?

It is obvious you are doing your best to avoid PVP. You camp all FPs and dungeon entrances with your raids to prevent people from fighting. You camp their corpses to prevent them from fighting. When you are 1 vs 1 you usually run like a chicken and yell for help and only fight when you get back with 3 friends and then camp corpses.

It´s really apparent you don´t want to PVP as you are preventing the opposite faction from PVPing. So genuine question - why did you choose dominant faction on PVP server, if you don´t want to PVP? You can still re-roll on PVE realms. There is no shame in that. Let true PVP players do the fighting while you can enjoy collecting herbs on PVE server. I feel this is what you seek but you just don´t want to admit it as you would look weak. But nobody will really blame you. And nobody will bother you on PVE servers so you won´t need to spend time on avoiding PVP anymore. Time to re-roll!

It says undead but talks like an alliance…

Maybe because I am somebody who played Horde the whole life on retail but now play Alliance on Classic.

I wanted to demonstrate the faction does not really matter. It does not matter if I am Horde or Alliance. We are all the same players. And what I said still applies regardless of faction.

He’s right, you know.

So you posted from a life long retail character?

No. I obviously posted from the only character I have that is below level 60 so it confuses people at least for a second to think I am playing the stronger faction and I am actually advising underpopulated faction players to go PVE servers. Because that´s what I read every day and I find it stupid. If I posted from Alliance character, nobody would really read the whole post and would just say “go to PVE realm crybaby”. But this is a genuine question and I hope some people will read it and be able to explain why…

Because Zandalar Tribe supposed to be ALSO RP server, not just PVP as it is now. Now I couldn’t care less for PVP, I just want to be on RP server.

Because I played in Vanilla and I based my choise around my experience from those days. I love the feeling of danger and the every now and then ganking etc. Problem is that in vanilla there were 3500 characters (bout 1700 on both factions) while now there are probably 10 000. So its a unbalanced mess that has nothing to do with PvP at all.

It has turned into a gankfest that blocks off all other aspects… Nothing like vanilla at all.

that “roll pve” argument is getting really old and boring.

^this.
In terms of ganking Vanilla after the introduction of the honour system was like Classic before the honour system.
But when it comes to wpvp I guess I just thought I did when I actually didn’t. Found out early on that I didn’t enjoy ganking low hp players who were fighting mobs or just minding their own business, and I certainly didn’t enjoy it happening to me. But what are you going to do.

It’s because people thought world PvP would be fair, and it rarely is.

What we see now is not pvp. Its rankers farming honor. Its not the same thing. A lot (most) of these people only do it for the epic gear rewards.

The problem is the massively over-crowded servers. I just escaped one and I feel reinvigorated.

I enjoy WPvP. Always did. But when servers are 5 times more populated than they were back in Vanilla, you’ll be steamrolled, because Azeroth hasn’t grown 5 time its original size. It’s all the same.

So, hopping off a hugely populated server was the best move I ever made.

You seem to be playing underpopulated faction so I wasn´t really asking you, but I completely agree and that´s why I made this post. Still, next time you might want to read the whole post before replying.

Same here. But still we´re on PVP server so in Phase II I don ´t really mind get killed when fighting mob. As then I usually try to get my revenge which is fun. And I expect the other players to feel the same way. However if you get killed by 60 who is then camping your corpse, it´s not fun. Thank God we have “exit the game” button.

No I actually think it´ s just the opposite. Most people know the world PVP is not fair. That´s why they chose overpopulated faction on PVP server so they don´t need to worry about getting killed. You know… you don´t like PVP but you are ashamed to say I play on PVE server so… you simply choose dominant faction on PVP server.

I agree. Good point. However I chose PVP server so I can do PVP. Currently PVP servers only offer faming fests. Not really what I signed up for.

I also agree with this. I literally ruined my Classic experience because I was afraid I might end up on the dead realm. So I sticked to full Horde dominated server.

It is so simple. Classic to have classic experience i started classic. And as a player who haven’t experienced classic before i could not know how silly to play on a pvp realm. I was just thinking Blizzard will give us a costumer friendly experience.
That is our own mistake to think Blizzard gives costumer a good gameplay experience…

Because phase 1 on a PvP server was bloody fantastic, best gaming experience ever, in this case I was right to play PvP. However, P2 is just boring.

So if I had followed the narrow minded black and white thinking of “hurr durr just play PvE”, then I would have never had that great 1 experience.

It astounds me how obtuse and binary many people who play wow are.

And you get the award for idiot of the year

PvP = Player versus Player

Honor is granted upon player kill not npc, thus farming honor means players killing players. And the game encourages multiple kills as otherwise not even eligible for ranking.

Anyone who participates is a ranker as its only purpose is ranks & fun.

Not to mention if they did not like PvP they could have avoided PvP server and gone to a PvE instead with less contested areas and less focus on pvp… or even RPPvE which hardly has pvp…

Enter PvP sever, go to contested area… you knew what ur risk was.

I’d say there’s an obvious difference between enjoying the feeling of factions mattering, the chance of spontaneous wpvp happening, the world being a dangerous place where you might get jumped and being obliterated with every step you take.

I fully understand the people who signed up on the first experience but would rather skip the latter. Even if you consider it a naive mindset, the difference is glaringly obvious. In that sense I’d wish there was a way to have the first and prevent the latter as it would promote more fun for both factions, also not unimportantly longterm. But it is what it is, hope bg’s will fix it somewhat.

You are correct, I viscerally despise “wpvp” (read: griefing), but RP-PvP realms always had the best, most friendly and laid-back, yet serious enough to achieve results raiding guilds. We all have to suffer through what we must to achieve what we want. I can’t wait to be done with the few remaining dungeon pieces and overworld “tasks” to never EVER have to engage in the human garbage behaviour that is “wpvp” again. What a relief that will be! Can’t wait for some battlegrounds though, where all participants are willing.

Honestly I gave up on that already. Luckily MC is easy so my guild stopped checking if raiding peple have pre-BIS. We all understand farming pre-BIS is annoying as hell these days and good guilds are therefore not requiring that. The only item that I really wanted to have was Briarwood Reed and luckily I got it yesterday so from now on I will only raid. I don´t care about dungeons any more. I will get dressed in MC instead.

I think you misread the post, this thread is talking to people who are ganking others in large raidgroups. Why did they roll PvP server when they are clearly too scared to do PVP.
