Seriously.. why didn´t you just choose PVE server?

Of course no one in my guild checks Pre-BiS. We just clear everything once a week in around 2 hours. It’s just a pet peeve of mine that I need Bonecreeper Stylus and Sublime Wristguards to say to myself “I did my reasonable best to gear myself and not slow my guild down”. Also I really want that pink cat mount. Just because.

I got it, but my response definitely did not show it haha. I feel the same way the TO does, and I’ve noticed plenty of people do too, even those who are part of the dominating faction on their pvp server.

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. It’s hard to regulate that tho.

I always played on pvp serv since vanilla. Now when I have wife, kids and full-time job and only 1-2h per day to play, every stupid 10 min corpse-run just wasting my time to none.
And… Mb im just getting old - but from level 1 to 53 I didn’t start any WPvP by myself. I got a few fights in P1, won some, lost some, but i didn’t really feel that I wanna start WPvPs … Back in the Vanilla wpvps during leveling felt fun to me - now its not. On 60s - yeah, but im surely dont wanna spend a lot of time for that also

So only now I really thinking about rerolling to PVE - just for safe leveling and pve. As for PVP - we will have BGs which are the same for all kind of servers.

Yeah I was considering the same. But the PVP system in simply annoying on PVE servers. If the PVP could be turned on and off in cities only, I wouldn´t hesitate a minute.

Flagging for PVP for 5 minutes, gank somebody and then unflag so he can´t kill me back… seeing how many people are enjoying torturing other people… no thanks, I believe many people would be abusing that mechanism to kill me and then enjoy that I can´t kill them back.

Hi, I was not aiming at you with that last comment  just generally

This is PvP (Reality not expectation) - coming from a PvE server player. I think you should roll PvE OP

but you can just turn off ur pvp flag as well so he won’t be able to kill u without your willingness. Doesn’t it work that way?

Yes it does. Which is why I don´t like it. Killing tigers in STV without having to look around? Without being attacked by another player? Without the joy when I return the favor to him?

No… that wouldn´t be wow…

Time to reroll to horde, same as PVE.

I find it really fun, I play on gehennas overpopulated and horde favored in numbers. Whats fun imo is getting a whole raid together and take back BRM from hordes and when we arrive there is a 2 other Ally raids there fighting. So now there is 3 alliance raids roaming inside blackrock mountain on different locations smashing in to horde raids left and right.
I honestly don’t understand what’s needs to be ‘fixed’

Players that think wpvp should be fair don’t belong on a pvp realm. When you attempt to join a pvp realm for first time, the ui should ask some questions first… if your responses indicate that you think wpvp should be fair, it auto moves you to a pve realm that needs more of your faction, and locks you out of pvp realms.

That’s just the point, nothing on a pvp server is regulated, it’s pure anarchy as opposed to a pve server where you yourself are in control whether you have pvp turned on or off and therefor the difference between getting ganked continuously or whenever you chose to let that happen.

I rolled on a pve server because during vanilla i rolled on a pvp server, i know i didn’t like that, i had nightmares from it which eventually made me migrate to a pve server during tbc. And no one who calls me whatever weakness synonym will get me to roll on a pvp server ever.

Everyone who can’t stand the ganking, horde just as much as alliance should realize that a pvp-realm is unregulated, there’s no honor or decency code at all.

Because this wpvp is nothing like vanilla wpvp and that is what we were expecting. It may be like pservers but I have no idea because I never played those. Simple and concise, hope it’s helpful

Can i ask why you didn’t roll on a pve server if you just wanna do BG and duels ?

The thing is, it should regulate itself; these big raids should not even exist because it is a seriously inefficient way of earning Honor. When you combine the factors of: 1) Killing lower levels; 2) Being in a large group; 3) Diminishing returns on repeat kills. All these three things mean the honor you get per kill is very small.

You would be far better off, going to somewhere just yourself or maybe two or three of you (depending on how busy the area is), and killing people of higher level who are closer to you.

I believe the problem is that it’s almost impossible to be just the 2 of you (on the dominant faction) as I see masses of hordes in every mid to high level zone and the lone ally is being hunted and camped by everybody until they log out… To make it short…it may be impossible to balance with the current overpopulation on the realms as 10% means alot more in terms of the effect it has on the game playability than it would for lower numbers.

I’ll try to answer this as constructively as possible.

Times change, people change and the player base changes.

PvP back in vanilla was a different kettle of fish I feel. The game was one of the first true MMO’s that allowed all kinds of people to come together and the social impact was near unprecedented.

15 years on and after a decade of hyper aggressive multiplayer games such as many FPS’s and battle ground esk titles (pubG/Fortnite etc) people’s attitudes and morals have just naturally weakened a little.

Yes folk ganked one another back then too but there were fewer mindless trolls roaming around I’m their herds.

Me and my guild rolled a PvP server without question as we had fond memories from our time in BC. But the times have changed and we’ve all noticed it.

None of us feel it’s bad enough to want a transfer to a pve realm but we did make the transfer from Gandling to Bloodfang simply to escape the overwhelming faction Imballance.

To sum it up, some folks memories of what PvP was back in the day have simply been misplaced or it just isn’t what they remember it to be :slightly_smiling_face: Which is all good and steps will be taken until they find comfort/enjoyment once again :hugs:

GLHF!

People had good memories of Vanilla and didn’t expect to have 3x to 5x more players on the same landmass, which turned fun PvP into a massive gankfest.

Because i thought it would be more like vanilla. Not a pack of animals at every corner.

People like you have their brains so full of something other than brain matter, that they fail to realize that WPVP was not like this in vanilla. Leveling was possible, ganking happened, but it was more often individual players people of similar level about as often as it was someone higher.

Now it is organized and detrimental to the gameplay experience of those who are on the losing side. You have next to no chance of fighting back in most cases and if you want to form a raid to fight back, you will not be doing what you were initially setting out to do.

Which to people, who are not complete basement dwellers with unlimited time, means they do not get to do that dungeon they had put time aside for. And when this happens pretty much daily, it means they do not get really anything worthwhile done outside of raids.

If you want Classic to die, that’s a perfect way to go about it.
