Maybe? I can’t remember who posted it – there was an ‘effeminate male’ priest-in-training in it.
Ah, not mine then! Wasn’t sure if you were referring to my topic and the screenshots there - my bad.
I did not want to initiate a witchhunt. It just irked me that people sexualize what can be someone else’s identity IRL.
That is the screenshot I posted. It is “as is”, so no edits or mods (lol?) were used.
Your posts were however using homophobic tropes in them, though, so I’d say you were fairly called out on them. I do think people are a bit triggerhappy to also paint every person as a homophobe/racist etc, but that’s moreso because by this point, most of us are very tired of the same arguments being used ad nauseam.
I do hope you see now why you were called out, otherwise I worry you might not have learnt as much as I had hoped.
By mods, ppl referred to the cropped pic in the summary, since the walking animation gives them a wider look that in-game you can only achieve through specific 18+ mods.
(However, to see other characters as this you must have the mod installed yourself, so it would’ve been a little dumb to suggest that, @whoever suggested it)
I understand that, and it doesn’t only stop with androgynous identities and so on. But in this particular case it’s not even that sexualized, but we as readers can’t see the rest of the person’s TRP. We don’t even know if they’re trying to be androgynous or trans, since all we can read about that is that they’re an effeminate man.
The female model can fit better for the role, especially when you look at it from behind. Instead of having to ignore all the hyper-musculature all over the body, you just ignore the chest. Until we get appereance sliders, most people will just make do with what they have and what’s easiest for them. You might not be able to ignore the breasts, someone else will struggle viewing the roid-men of WoW as effeminate.
Here you go dawg.

There’s a lot more like it, it’s depressing really.
but, like… why the sl*tmog…
why do they have to be a priest…
so many questions…
They saw that Argent confessor and Whitemane, then thought.
"HMmmm DiS muSt bE hOW PriEStS DreSS."
There’s also the ulterior motives, but they all deny it.
Well i stated facts. And facts>Feelings at least in my opinion. For example redconning is considered bad writing. Thats a fact. It has always been and blizzard has been called out for it before so as many other companys and writers have been. However in the case with the skin colours it gets deffended. Not because blizzard did anything different but they did something that will get you into heavy fire if you dare to critizes it.
You may have noticed that i never denied you guys your opinion. I never denied that there are horrible people out there who come from a Homophobic position that treat you badly. You guys on the other hand keept denieng that there are people on your side of the spectrum that do what i mentioned. Shoving stuff down your throat, overmentioning there sexuality/gender, playing to hard on a stereotype. When i mentioned any of these you always just sayed “Nah thats just you guys perception of it.”
You are denieng my experience and effectivly calling me either a liar or a homophob cause you don’t even wanna think about the arguments i made because your premise already is that my arguments are wrong and made up from a homophob side of view.
This is what i meant with my post. Just because i did not fully agree with you, you ignored all my arguments and went on an emotional level.
Dalefug, the human characters that were given the new diverse skin features were random NPCs in Stormwind, mostly white cloth vendors. This is not a “retcon” so severe that it has any impact on the world in the slightest; it is not as if Anduin Wrynn woke up black.
Maybe it is just me, but please everyone. NEVER say this. It pings so many red flags its almost unreal.
ben shapiro has entered the room
next up: ortellus in a bikini
why is it fine when they do but when i do it i get arrested??? /s
It does for many people and i don’t see when it became shamefull to be rational instead of emotional.
Yes. And thats why its not bothering me. Thow we have a story how humans came into existanze in wow that does not realy support these changes but since its a rather irrelevant change i don’t mind it.
Say who now?
Audience cheers.
“He is so brave.”
To elaborae.
That exact phrase is incredibly common among well, certain political groups and homophobes.
Its also not “facts” but your own Subjective opinions.
Finally, emotions arent bad.
yeah and it’s not the same way that humans came into existence irl. humans in wow are literally metal constructs that have been cursed to have flesh.
vrykul are not all pasty white with ginger hair, some of them have darker skin tones, and there’s been at least 12000 years of evolution since the first humans appeared
Honestly Dalefug, quit while you’re ahead mate.
I understand why you’d think that, because Blizzard has done an awful job at showing non-white humans in the game/lore up until now. However, they have always been in the lore:

For Asian representation, you as a Classic character should know that there was a human face option that has prominently Asian features. This was removed in WoD, because Blizzard butchered the models.
Worth noting as well that the largest reason for a lack of diversity in early warcraft/Blizzard can simply be explained by Blizzard just “we didnt really think about it”.
But times change and these characters always existed in universe.
Okay, so…hypothetically, let’s say for argumentation sake this is true…
It didn’t get defended. Nobody defended retconning blood elves becoming black overnight. They’ve always had different looks that match the sun aesthetic. Constant exposure to sun does what? And even if they didn’t, it’s not a retcon to say they can also be darker coloured. Nobody took away the pale skin colours.
In some NPCs that did get changed, I don’t think anyone was notable as Mogi said. Who cares about those? I want to see someone start up a campaign to stop the rEtConS because their favourite tailorer NPC (or whoever, idk who got changed lol) became a POC.
There’s always extremes and bad examples everywhere you look. In some cases, it’s not just ‘an opinion’, though. What you perceive as shoving stuff down your throat/overmentioning their sexuality or gender is a very common homophobic trope that is used to devalue a LGBTQ+ person’s opinions/character purely on the basis of their gender or sexuality. In media, even a smaller LGBTQ+ role is very often critiqued as ‘shoving the propaganda down the throat’. See: Night Fae covenant questline.
It’s just very often, what you’ve parroted are used in highly homophobic contexts and carry the connotations which you might not have intended to, hence other people’s reactions. By this point, in several different forum threads no less, the same arguments have been repeated and rebutted over and over that most start losing their patience very quickly.
Humans have always had POC skin colours. They simply got expanded on, so there’s not even a retcon when we’re talking about humans only.
Someone who popularised the ‘facts > feelings’ meme, when failing to argue with high-schooler first-time debaters on social topics. The person has moved on to become a pretty big embarrassment overall, but as he consistently holds very conservative talking points, his one-liners are still being used by his viewerbase. Hence the red flags.
