I am a casual, ungeared, ordinary player who plays this game only for having fun with less eye muscle coordination than geared pro players. Today, it took me total of 6 wipes to kill Sylnavas on LFR difficulty. The pro hordie game developers should understand that such a thing is not and no more ‘‘fun’’ to play.
It is really interesting to me that the developers introduced the most fun Raid like Castle of Nathria (Sire Denatrius was a wonderful experience ) but the same team now put on us a terribly boring and unfun SoD. I do NOT care what mythic or heroic raiders are needing but this boring raid should be nerfed on LFR difficulty because this is no more relaxing or fun what we causal noobs are looking for.
I’ve killed it a couple times in LFR, didn’t seem to be a massive issue. And I wasn’t bringing over geared characters in either, mostly just alts that needed some gear. If you can’t do it on the first couple attempts, just wait until your determination stacks get to 6 or 7… typically most groups get it after that, no matter how bad they are. And I don’t think most groups need that many attempts either way, the norm from what I’ve seen has been 2-3 pulls.
In conclusion, a little patience goes a long way! I doubt you’ll be stuck on LFR sylvanas for longer than an hour, and that is the worst case scenario. Unless you’re trying to kill it at like 4 AM or something. Or if you’re a tank for example and continuously mess up the mechanics (and if thats the case, go dps).
On raiding you wipe and try again. I agree the Sylv fight is too long though. But over all my chars i got like 15 kills of sylv in lfr. It does not seem that difficult.
Not one of those things makes the situation legit that a group of people on LFR wipes 6 (six) times in a row on a boss. The situation during Legion last season and during most loved raid Castle of Nathria <3 was not like this. On those LFR raids, you can simply have 1 wipe or 2 but at 3rd try, the unorganized group even with low gear were able to kill the boss. If you guys think that wiping on LFR 6 (six) times in a row is a normal thing, then I have nothing to say to you because this is not normal or heroic raid that you wipe 6 times.
I don’t know if its normal or not. I don’t care whether or not you have anything to say to me, what I’m saying to you is be less bad. Then you’ll kill it.
Hey, you made the thread. Don’t whine when people don’t agree with you.
It’s good to know that someone who is so terrible that they moan about their inability to kill a target dummy can perform a diagnosis over the internet.
What seems to be the issue? What do they need to nerf/remove to make the encounters more doable for a LFR group?
To me 6 wipes doesnt sound so bad, but i’m not the target audience for LFR either. Think its hard for them to make the raids easy enough for LFR but hard enough for it to not just be a target dummy. Sometimes they probably fail with the balance there. I know many complained about n’zoth in nyalotha.
From what I’ve seen, the main reason for wipes on LFR is that people don’t learn that there are points in phase 2 when Sylvanas leaps ahead and you have to catch up and interrupt her before her cast goes off. Once you learn when those points are, you (it only takes one person after all) can stop dpsing to run ahead to be there in time, even if no-one else is.
I’ve done LFR a few times on various characters, and that’s the only place I see consistent wipes.
boy I’m glad I don’t really play this game anymore, seeing how the community has been infested with such entitlement.

The last 4 times, at least, i just 1 shotted Sylv on LFR. Haunted wave are black thingies that everyone sees and can just avoid. It is not doing too much damage since nobody gets damage in the first place. That 1 exception player that does got hit multiple times (because 1 hit is doing no damage actually), can die and the group still finishes Sylvanas.
This is easy to do on a horde biased game which developed by horde players themselfs on horde side, come to ally and see it yourself what is going on here.
It has a stacking dmg, if an undergeared char hits multiply times with it, it becomes lethal by thinking healers are also moving other side of the platform and are not able to heal. Also causal people in LFR are panicking on that bridge when Haunted Wave cast starts, they get hit and fall to their death, especially if raid leader is not chill and gives different warnings every second. This is why this part of the raid on LFR should be nerfed or completely video skipped. Terrible designed raid, terrible. Too boring.
