Slow download speed

Are u joking rn? XD it’s too simple. I even tried to install fresh Windows, disable ipv6 in router etc so…XD

it worked? :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope this is something Blizzard looks into asap. We shouldn’t have to use VPN’s or other third-party apps to be able to download patches or games properly :stuck_out_tongue:

Please fix this, havent been able to play for hours now. 7kb/s download

Fix this please

same issue here, I’ve uninstalled battle net and now i cannot install it back, im stuck on “updating” process lmao

Jeesus christ, so extremely incompetent replies from Customer support. If lots of people complain on slow speeds you CLEARLY have issues on your end. Probably peering issues.
I’m using TELIA as carrier and my IP is 217.208.15.XX. now go and tell the real techs you clearly have issues with your infrastructure.
Update: I tried tunneling through another provider and it worked. So you do have a peering issue. It was working fine through 89.160.97.XX.

This looks serious. Why there is no any respond from Blizzard yet?

I downloaded free ProtonVPN app, switched my IP to Netherlands and managed to download in seconds. Try using that guys

This is not we suppose to do. Use third party apps to patch or download our games we payd. I’m still expecting a statement in that case.

Download very slow/stuck on initializing. Country of orgin Norway

I just opened up bnet and the update is just endlessly initializing. I have now restarted my pc twice, re-installed the bnet launcher app and checked all my updates for my pc. I cannot update ANY games and I cannot play any games either because trying to go around the launcher just ends up in the servers being incompatible for me.

Found a solution, pause the download and start it again, it will start with some better speed, then slow down again. So just pause it again and start it again, do that until its downloaded.

took an hour to download 50mb in Norway, then I tried scan and repair and it completed the remaining 250mb in a couple of minutes.

Currently downloading at 301 MB at a speed that suggests it’ll take 2-3 hours. With a gigabit connection that has no issues otherwise.

The VPN trick worked! Thanks! Installed Proton VPN (it’s free), set my IP to the Netherlands, and it downloaded instantly.

actually works lol, not a fix but it helps significantly

Same problem here.

Often the updater is stuck on Initializing or “Waiting for another update…”. If the download actually starts it’s typically around 10-50kb’ish, sometimes it also jumps up to normal speeds (1Mb+) only to return to to slow 50kb and even going back to “initializing” where nothing happens. It goes up and down like this until it might finish half a day later.

I have tried to update same computer (laptop) on two different internet connections, same behaviour on both connections.

Reboot your update servers!

Stuck on “Initializing download…0%” for half an hour.
Downloaded Proton VPN as a poster suggested, connected to Netherlands, and after a few minutes the download was done.

I dunno much about computers, but downloading a free software to be able to fix the game i pay monthly just doesnt seem right.
