So you are saying the writing is good? The defining element of this plot we have in BFA is that my little brother of twelve would be able to write something more satisfying and coherent for both factions.

Its an interesting plot, with several “morally grey” plots, and the lore is immersive and being told in the best way yet (quests, cinematica, cutscenes, books, youtube amazing cinematics).
So yeah! I love the story!
While not my approach probably, I do agree with the Sylvannas initial opinion that War is unavoidable. Even Thrall says it on crossroads cinematic, we’ve come to this again and again… he just went afk

I dislike the story too, though have enjoyed much of its presentation.
But the story is not yet over. Maybe it can be salvaged for those of us that aren’t enjoying it. I just don’t know how. The worst part is that it probably wont end when BFA does. Regardless of what happens (excepting for crappy get out of jail free card like “it was all a dream” or “time travel makes things right”), Teldrassil is not going to go away.
As for Sylvanas, we have no idea what her reasons were at this point. We can comment on what we’ve seen, but its all just speculation. Making assertions like people already know the whole story is just muddying waters at this point.
And though she apparently survives BFA, do we know in what state? I don’t think its been confirmed that she will still be Warchief. So she could be imprisoned, fleeing, exiled, cursed or something else. Even if not, people are forgetting that Blizzard’s statement was that she will not die ‘that quickly,’ obviously implying that there may be plans to do away with her at some point in the future.

I don’t see how can it be salvaged to make both Horde and Alliance people proud of their faction, as they promised when they launched it.

I thought she was pretty clear that the whole barbecue plot was settled on before she signed up to Blizzard.

Don’t wanna pin this on one guy like I said but Steve Danuser is the lead narrative designer. How much sway he holds over the direction of the story is anyones guess considering their mantra of “gameplay first”.
