“dad loves you more than me”: The Subforum.
so vol’jin’s age in Founding of Durotar is a case of tell don’t show. sounds like blizz to be fair.
also the darkspear weren’t distinct in warcraft 1, 2 or 3. they were tree-trunk-dwelling horde lackeys, and have since developed into what they are now. the night elves were distinct in WC3 and have since devolved into “purple humans with big ears and no home city”.
yet for some reason every night elf whinepost is turned into a bray-fest of nonsense by fans of other WC races who are, for the most part, every bit as whiny, as though night elf complaints are unjustified. mote in your neighbour’s eye, plank in your own.
that’s not what we’re doing here.
You are aware that the Darkspear did not exist in Warcraft I or II?
oh aye, trolls were just generic trolls in those days
point still stands
… Yes, that’s what I said. That was my point. I’m not claiming that this doesn’t suck for the Nelves even if I rebuff claims that the Darkspears somehow have it better. Until Legion they were just at a different trajectory, I daresay they’re both in a rough spot right now.
That’s what almost every fan of any race trying to air their grievances gets, I don’t know how it got to this point, where everyone acts like it -has- to be more of a zero sum game than it actually needs to be. It’s truly unfortunate.
Actually…
There were no trolls in WC1. Not even as npc units, if I recall correctly.
It was literally Orcs and Humans…
In WC2 it was the Amani under Zul’jin that allied with the Horde…those are the remnants of the empire that was once hold sway over the forests that are now Quel’Thalas.
As for Trolls being illiterate…that’s an argument about as absurd as Night Elves “getting ignored by Blizzard”, who coincidently also “hates them”. Since there’s actual in game sources who disclaim that ‘fact’ since…oh, try Vanilla WoW.
Still waiting for vengeance for Theramore, by the way. Get in line, elflets.
You do indeed recall correctly, and yes I believe most Troll ruins or settlements had stone tablets, in Zul’farrak in particular there was one you could read; tablet of Theka, in the area Theka the Martyr patrols, not to mention the ancient tablet item which details how you create the Mallet of Zul’farrak.
Not to mention, back in vanilla WoW/Classic WoW every class got a written message leading into their very first class quest, including - you guessed it! - newly created Troll characters. I believe the Shaman one in particular is a message from a Troll shaman who your character trained under.
And yes, when people are annoyingly hyperbolic and ignorant, my first instinct is to get annoyingly pedantic back at them.
Jaina got her revenge lump.
Nope. There were several Horde races participating in the attack of Theramore, and so far the vast majority of them still have standing homes.
Get in line dude. We’ve been waiting to get some vengeance for Theramore since 2012.
Dunno if taking vengeance towards an entire race for the actions of a few is the right thing to do. Pretty sure Jaina would agree.
The actions of a few? Mate, the people cheered and paraded Garrosh around when news came of Theramore’s destruction.
Can you give me a proper statistic how many and who?
I said “the people”, I mean “the people”. What does “the people” mean to you?
So every single Orc, Tauren, Troll, Goblin, Blood Elf and Forsaken was present and cheering?
Yeah. There were like 20000 tauren, 10000 forsaken, 50000 orcs, 48888 goblin, 2228 trolls, and 384845 blood elves.
Can’t argue against that solid evidence!
yep, seems right
Yeah it wasn’t like the bombing of Theramore was one of the big motivators for both Vol’jin and Baine to eventually help overthrow Garrosh… oh wait…
Aside from the fact that Vol’jin supported Garrosh during the invasion of Theramore, and that they would have obviously rebelled even without Theramore, then the night elves also got their revenge.
