So what’s the point of Player Housing?

I don’t really agree there, there’s plenty of game that allow some expression of creativity, is it as limitless as you can do with a piece of paper and a pencil? probably not, because games are inherently confined by what is possible inside of them.

Now if you want to talk about full unbound creativity, you’re right. A game cannot give you that, but argueably neither can life, because even in life, we are confined to the tools we use to create, the functions of our body to create with, the capacity of our minds to create new tools with to further our creation.

And its fine, I don’t need blizzard to be vissionary, I need them to put down a good piece of content to chew on.

RTS and RPG’s were neither new and unknown concepts but man did Blizzard make a banger with WC3 there, for my RTS I’m a huge AOE2 andy but WC3 can easily and proudly stand next to that giant, maybe even a little above it if I’m being objective.

I’m convinced if I just keep trying to convey what part of my post was the meat of the post eventually people will catch on, lord knows I’ve focussed on the wrong parts in others in the past as well.

Projection isn’t going to work here, buddy. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Oh then you haven’t talked to Brotchen enough.
He’s going to keep trolling you. Forever.

He’s a “real” roleplayer, show some respect Tah

Oh yeah, they used to be more original. At least, in adopting ideas of others.

Thats the point, the blizzard, that made wod, is not the blizzard, that made midnight.

If you want to argue, how innovative was classic wow, that’s fair.

Midnight housing is not about innovation

It’s about selling us housing as an empty feature. And then making us buy content with additional payments

Midnight housing is like if warcraft classic came out, and all you could do is design appearance of your character, but could not do quests, and run dungeons, and do PvP. All those features being time gated and locked behind feature payments.

Had any other game created a design-onlu housing system? No, or at least not any people here can name.

I think, blizzard probably understand this, but why do more, if they can sell us the design minigame now, and the actual housing gameplay later?

Or here is a prime possibility- abandon housing completely. Why not?

If we complain it was supposed to be ever green, blizzard can always say , “wdym? We added a new chair to the shoo last expansion". We support housing fully”

XD XD XD

It is what it is

You are literally being off topic here, how are you still not banned lol

I know, you want to protect your feelings, but it’s time to face the truth

Housing is useless for RP unles we can actually RP in it

Okay…..explain me this…..genius statement.
What’s preventing you exactly from doing roleplay in housing, Mr real roleplayer

Let’s say a man is roleplaying a blacksmith.

Then he wants to build a forge. he farms all the furniture. And builds what looks like a forge.

Can he actually RP a blacksmith there?

No. He can’t store his ores. He can’t make a new sword. Etc.

He can stand there and write into chat “I melt ore” “I forge a helmet”.

That’s fine for some people, but that’s not how RP works.

Why does an RP player pay 50 EUR for this?

Can’t he just then do it for free in a chat?

how can we stop that to player from playing Conan instead?

What’s he roleplaying?

And that statement IS on topic?
Oh, you.

Yes. You can.
Because real roleplayers can ‘pretend’.
When I’m sitting at a table roleplaying, I don’t need an actual sword when I’m slashing someone. I don’t get a cage and release a raccoon on the table when I’m summoning my familiar. I don’t need a stove to ‘roleplay I’m cooking dinner’.

Man, oh man.

No that’s called play pretend

Roleplaying is when you go to a blacksmith, buy a sword, go to a legacy tailor, who manages to produce clothes from the universe/time you are interested in, buy that, and then you and 100 of peoole.like you stage a roleplaying event.

Sitting on the ground and pretending you are cooking a dinner by mashing together clay, is what children do

Roleplayers research, how bakers used to make bread in the past, and try to recreate it, or try to do something like elven bread etc.

There is a difference

And what exactly do you think roleplaying is? :upside_down_face:

Roleplaying is playing someone else’s role.

Like when you play wow, you can just play the game - count parces, collect mounts. You are Tahra playing the game

Or you can pretend to be a paladin. Help.the weak, heal people, do paladin quests, worship the light. That’s Tahra roleplaying a palading

There is a difference

Pretend you say?

So…

Right. Right.

I’m going to stop taking your bait posts now.
Have fun trying to get others to reply.

Maybe you should, because you don’t understand them.

For example, you say “pretend”, like it’s a key to something. Pretend is just a verb, tha has different meanings in different sentences.

Play pretend and pretend is two different things. First is an expression, second is a verb. You seem to not understand the difference

You are really confused here.

Basically, here is what you don’t understand:

Saying something out loud or in your head is not roleplaying.

Making a potion in wow can be roleplaying.

we can’t make a potion in our house, we can just say we did. That’s not roleplaying

Or at least, it’s not roleplaying for a lot of people.

So let’s not pretend midnight housing is going to be an all-out hit with roleplayers

A lot of roleplayers will be disappointed they can’t roleplay in their own house

He have allready decided that he not like new housing and think no matter how they would have added housing to game he would find something how its but maybe on future they add example forge to game shop with differend styles and versions so he can rp smith on his house. Biggest and most cool forge addon IS ofc only for best blacksmiths only for very cheap 99$ Limited edition available only short tine

Exactly, we will be able to buy ability to RP later for extra eur

He just doesn’t understand how someone can have fun with the system as is.
Because he’s not a creative mind. Or he is and he’s trolling; that’s also a distinct possibility.

The devs have already stated they’re going to carefully add utlity to housing in time. And until then; it’s just a canvas and some brushes; and we get to create works of art (well, the ones of us who are creative, anyway).

Who knows where housing is going to end up. They might already be planning stuff we never even thought of. I’m going to keep an open mind. This is just iteration 1.0 of housing in WoW.

It’s iteration of wow level designer 1.0

Let’s see if it grows into wow player housing 2.0

Maybe it does and we can pay for it

But it’s highly unlikely it will be at least as developed as wow housing 1.0 (garrison) was

Same thing here. Nah its not going to be garrison that talk is just silly even compare those.
