It’s just numbers. Normal arena require a team which is balanced by deafult and matched against equals, while solo shuffle is “please join at will”.
It’s like the dungeon finder, a million dps for a tiny fraction of healers available means longer queues. Ranks don’t help on this.
The mode is fine, its just Blizz is not able to implement anything properly. Add to that completely broken balance and you have nothing but mess on your hands.
The active pool has shifted since they gave people free rewards and titles in solo shuffle. Whole this idea with 2400 for gladiator is an old system based on much higher activity pool and also destroyed by r1 players sitting and camping from 2–2.4K for boosting.
So how do we solve this?

By giving percentage based rewards instead of fixed X rating rewards, also by removing SS and making LFG automated queue.
I would call it “killed”, but we replaced one game mode with another. Majority of the players think it’s a good transition, myself including.
Posting adverts to find teammates is such an outdated model, even for MMO RPG.
Also, it’s just the first season of the solo shuffle, I am sure plenty of things can be improved. For instance in game communication other than typing (and by no means I mean voice chat, no one wants to be on a call after an entire day at work lol). But something like better markers, pings and so on.
One way to “save” arenas, would be to… delete 2s : ) 2s was always my beloved bracket, but I believe solo shuffle is just a good replacement - something you can jump in quickly and play to relax and chill (ok I know some people are triggered by SS, but that’s their problem xD).
This way we would focus only around 3s. Not only it would improve participation there, but we would also once and for all solve balance problem, where we see tons of whining posts on the forum related to 2s bracket.
I didn’t like 2v2 skirmish just for the reason you didn’t gain rating, so there was no progress and the ppl you faced where there to gear up. They had such a low gs and no skill with the new leveled class. What’s the point of killing them.
Would freaking love ranked 1v1 and 2v2 shuffle.
Thats why we need automated LFG queue not this 6 round SS bull.
Imagine how many leavers you will have in that mode.
Why do people keep calling it shuffle??? We don’t want/need any more SHUFFLES. I just want to play regular 3v3 ffs by pressing a single button not posting adds in LFG.
Yes and? Just queue for another game and replace the guy that left untill you find a guy that will stick around.
This. The problem is balance. Dragonflight has been a great PvP experience, but now that we are settled, it becomes more and more “Is my class this patch’s FOTM? If no, then, can I win over this patch’s FOTM classes? If no, then probably I should just wait a patch or solo shuffle for the Vault.”
I’m OK with that, but that should not replace Solo Shuffle. It can be addition to the current 3s.
But note there are doing changes more often than ever, and actually balance is not that bad. Obviously always something needs to be better and something worse, but in the past we had plenty of totally dead specs, and right now almost all of them (besides tanks) feel playable.
How can they stop inflation?
The frequency of changes is great. Its the quality of the changes that is the problem. Many of the changes feel untested, something that would take just an hour of playing your class-specc to see. An example, here is the Assa Rogue development the past weeks.
Week before last week: Assa Rogue low damage, easily killed.
Last week: Assa Rogue high damage, capability of killing targets and surviving.
This week: Assa Rogue with 4set bonus are godlike killing many within a stunlock, while Assa Rogue without 4set bonus are back to low damage, easily killed.
It has been a rollercoaster of “this week is really fun to play assa rogue” followed by “guess il park this one for another week”. Same is true for Ret paladin, MM hunter, etc.
Since this expansion has it so easy with gearing, everyone in SS and Arena are maxed out or close to it. The result is that gearing is normalized so class balance becomes the center of attention.

I want 2v2 shuffle.
Just queue up and play.
Same as RSS, the leader should be specc specific.
Also it should be a shuffle not just a 2v2 random queue, where you get the worse teammate and the match is over after a round, before you have the chance to play with another person of the same match.
to be sure u do know that in any other form of real arena where someone leaves the game dont just end?
and the people left win, so it doesnt matter if someone leaves. its normal. they dont want to waste time and they see they have lost so they tap out
its normal practice to leave when u establish that u have nothing to gain there no more
and normally matches only end when the last guy is dead or leaves which makes more sense for me than have rounds end to first guy feed cause he forgot to bind his wall and setup addons so he sees cds
only on this weird 6 round shuffle format its seen as griefing somehow when people leave cos they dont want waste time, when the practice of leaving is actually normal but having 6 round shuffle rollercoaster is not
blizzard are trying to force people stay in something they do not want to stay in any longer and that is the most weird
like theres people in real life that refuse do things they dont want to do even when threatened gun point, how do u force people do something they dont want to do on a video game then?

Not really sure why you’re asking that to my post, but there’s deflation as well. If they want to, they can artificially deflate it. But that would carry its own repercussions, because making people across the ladder drop rating isn’t generally something people enjoy, so usually they just tend to let seasons run its course and then start the next season with the artificial deflation cranked up in the settings.
