Some of my alts are stuck on unacceptable servers. When will they reopen so I can play & transfer them again?

Some of my alts are stuck on seasonal servers. When will they reopen so I can play them & transfer them again?

Also I have a lvl44 UD rogue deleted in TBC-classic but I could make a clone of in classic but can’t yet because the shop won’t let me do it yet. When will I be able to?

They are gone forever. You have had 6 months to move your SoM characters and you knew the servers would close.

Cloning has been gone for a long time.

Like you I also lost everything and I had no idea that they had planned to delete all my vanilla work. I’m not reading their blogposts and I don’t use social media. So I wrote a ticket as soon as we were going to enjoy some vanilla again and I noticed it was all gone.

Anyway after quickly realizing what they had done I inquired if they could give me back all vanilla characters I had spent so much time on. I was informed that they would not do that and that any further inquiries into the subject could be considered harassment of Blizzard employees and THAT was something they could act on.

I have never seen anything like this before. It is beyond me how they treat their customers. So don’t expect anything from them. I’m sad to say it but your characters would’ve been safer on a private-server… Oh how I regret convincing my friends to play on official servers. I even used the argument that our work would be safer there… Jokes on me I guess…

Except they’re not gone. They’re on the exact same server they were on, the Era realms were new not the TBC realms and you had to choose to move to Era. TBC was the natural progression for the realms.

I always hear that people “didn’t get the memo” regarding the characters being moved on (or in SoM’s case, deleted).

Like you, I’m not on any social media and I’m not reading blogs by Blizzard, nor do I watch many YouTube videos about the game (apart from random lore stuff). Yet, I knew of this thing because it showed it quite clearly whenever I opened battle net before logging in to the game. It was kinda in your face there.

Ah I see, well then I can understand that you noticed it. I however usually take long breaks in between my wow-gaming so I never noticed it there either. And I don’t play any other games that use the launcher.

Regardless it’s beyond me why they did not even bother sending a mail to everyone who was about to loose their characters. It would be such an easy thing to do.

I have had two or three 6+ months breaks. Maybe I just happened to play just in time for it to pop in my face.

Most recently a few days ago when I saw that the final chance to transfer som characters was on the 28 th.

The cloning service was up for two years. Those breaks of your must be extremely long.

And compared to a two year break the time levelling a new character is abysmall.

Actually I had multiple characters with epic mount, professions and fully pvp-geared. It was a huge time-investment. I don’t find it unreasonable to expect Blizzard to at the very least send a mail to everyone affected before deleting it all.

But they didn’t delete them. They are exactly where you left them.

No, they are not.

I assume you are talking Classic Era characters - they are now in WotLK.
If you talk about Classic SoM, they are still there and you still have the time to move them - but hurry up, that window closes soon.

This blue post is pinned to these forums & has been since before you made this thread. (if indeed you mean SoM server?). As for the Rogue, even if you could restore the deleted character it would still be on the realm it’s on. No way to move it to classic era servers. Cloning is something that was allowed in TBC classic only for a limited time. If you wish to play classic era, your only (current) option is to roll a new character.

The timing of this thread is perfect. 3 days after announcement of SoM realms final termination and last chance of transfering.

And to make sure you added Cloning service whine on top. Are you so unlucky or just not playing this game at all if you are missing all the announcements of such major server changes? And do not start about Blizzard not sending you a delivery with personal invitation card to take action to characters you rent from them. Every discord that has classic news feed, every streamer, every newsletter allready mentioned closure of SoM1 realms in February this year when Blizzard mentioned that SoM1 realms will be removed in the future.

I don’t see any problem for a player really playing this game taking free character transfers in a 6 months period and character cloning was there long enough to make desidions of going to TBC, staying on Era or both.

You just didn’t cared for years and/or wanted to make a trolling post. Well it is time to be accountable for your lazyness.
