Good or bad, it’s more content. And people should be happy we finally have some.
Still a bit miffed that big man Dath’Remar doesn’t even get a flavour text mention in Zin Azshari.
SMH my head.
Yeah no you’re wrong here. We got content all around in WoD…
Content =/= Good. You can have pretty terrible content. You can solve a problem and actually make things worse (AKA Blizzard’s fun police).
I know you mean well.
Paging Island Expeditions. Paging Warfronts.
Etc.
More content in itself is always good, but the quality of that content is a very significant factor. And nothing I saw in the trailer really stuck out to me. I’ll just watch youtube videos of quests and drop into 8.2.5 when inevitably they add a catch up mechanic within the catch up mechanic so I can gear in a day.
Honestly if islands weren’t a race and warfronts weren’t a slog I’d be more keen on them. Unfortunately BfA dungeons are both since everyone and their mother wants to do M+ which is an enforced speedrun, which I hate a lot, and the dungeon design is just crap in BfA, to be blunt. I’m very much going to wait and see what the new stuff is like and how itp lays out long before I resub.
Looking at Nazjatar’s story and who are leading the factions there, I doubt the area will be used for RP-PvP due to the fact that Lor’themar and Jaina do call a truce so long they’re fighting Azshara. Even if they do swear to fight eachother if one side crosses the line, assuming that they are still united after Azshara’s defeat, no battle between the factions actually occurs there. This could be seen as a safe place for people who have no interest in fighting the war, and people who want to fight will be commanded by their faction leader there to not go up in arms against the opposite side.
Can’t wait to farm my AP once again! Weeeh!..
I’m looking forwards to Mechagon, I enjoyed Karazhan a lot so it’ll be fun to go about a new megadungeon. The island itself looks pretty cool and I can’t wait to see how it all works.
Nazjatar looks visually stunning and Eternal Palace seems like it’s shaping up to be a pretty solid raid. I’m looking forwards to meeting the goth Jinyu and Unshackled.
enthic gear represents a pretty great direction for the expansion (when RNG has been an overwhelming criticism for the right reasons), Eternal Palace gear looks like it’s got some interesting new effects, and so does Mechagon.
feeling pretty positive about 8.2 bros…
There’s TBC-style PVP objectives, and also Call to Arms quests. Depending on how canon you want to take those, it’s fairly plausible that there would be! I don’t imagine there will be much, given that it’s current content resulting in a lot of traffic. I’m not sure if they’re active with warmode off, though.
Yeah I see your point there. In contrast it could be seen as fighting Azshara’s minions, and for reasons stated above, it seems the truce between the sides holds, especially since Lor’themar states that Azshara was beaten because of the unity of Alliance and Horde. If there was any fighting, I believe it would be kept on the down low. Or it could just be an implemented mechanic to satisfy some PvP urges.
I think it mirrors Isle of Thunder in that the Horde/Alliance are sieging a greater foe while throwing punches at each other on the sly, really.
I’d agree, but on the Isle of Thunder they were still at war. Here, an agreement is made not to fight. Either way, any fighting that does occur would be kept on the down low so that the commanding figures do not know, or it doesn’t happen in lore.
Though during the IoT storyline a big point was made about not fighting each other, near the end with Taran Zhu.
8.2 just does it earlier.
Blizzard : This will not be a MoP 2.0.
Also Blizzard : Proceeds to make MoP 2.0 but just earlier instead.
New patch is good, but we will see how long the fun will last. I give it a month at best until we are back to farming AP, RPing, and (some of us) progressing the raid and PvPing.
New M+ affix is horrible and I’ve yet to see a single serious M+ player on PTR giving any positive feedback on it. It’s going to kill pugging in M+ completely and significantly slow down the runs.
Them putting more effort into essences than fixing actual classes is also concerning.
More AP grinding, yay…
On the bright side, we get flying, Tauren heritage and the patch will be a great time for neutral RP.
So to summarize, I’m not hyped about the patch in the slightest, but I am looking forward to it. I just don’t have any high expectations anymore.
I didn’t say it couldn´t be bad. I said I’d rather have something new, good OR bad, than nothing at all. Ofcourse we all want it to be good, but nothing at all is still worse.
It’s going to kill pugging in M+ completely and significantly slow down the runs.
I’d say the pugging has long since been killed. I lost count how many times I’ve been declined by people cause I’m a fury warrior and not a rogue or a demon hunter 2-button meme. I’ve given up completely, same regarding raiding. It’s completely pointless and a waste of time considering I can get equally good gear from afking in a warfront and get a 415 titanforged item.
More AP grinding,
I don’t mind the AP grind, WoW always had a certain grind and goal you’d be able to work towards. If Azerite actually ends up being interesting, I don’t mind it. Besides, it’s not much of a grind if you just do a few table missions, world quests, etc.
I just don’t have any high expectations anymore.
I don’t think anyone has.
You know what I do have High expectations for?
Vulpera! Vulpera! Vulpera! Vulpera! Vulpera!
Looking forward to every Tauren RPer using the heritage armour next week. Myself included.
Some say that AP grind, tokens of the game developer’s vision, are necessary to maintain MAU.
But they’re wrong, teacher. AP grind is to blame.
I won’t but I will definitely use the heritage Totem with this mog.
I was hesitant to say anything but this is the spoiler thread: I was interested in the tauren heritage quest, but alas, it’s just a vehicle for their half-baked “void isn’t all bad gais!” spiel. You could replace every tauren in the questline with an orc or troll and nothing would change. It’s hardly even a tauren quest and does nothing to address their position in the world. But from what I gather the dwarves also got a raw deal on their heritage quest, so it’s not unique to us. It just irks me because the BElf one was pretty solid, but I guess Blizzard continues to believe the only races in lore are humans, orcs and elves.
At least the armour is dope.
