Its nice that people can remain hopeful, I personally is rather skeptical. Especially considering they have actually -lied- before. Not just ambigously/vaugley like with the burning of Teldrassil, but flat out said something that then wasnt true.

Best example being for the Siege of Orgrimmar patch where they specifically said several times that Vol’jin will -not- be warchief.

I think their problem is that they want to be subversive and have people shocked and surprised by their story moments, but no one every is because it’s usually super predictable.

Like when they tried to make the burning of Teldrassil a mystery, but everyone was thinking it was going to be Sylvanas, so they told us that it wasn’t. Then it was.

You’re right in that it is exactly their problem. Blizzard is -very- passionate about those “cool moments” that they are willing to do anything to make it happen, be it lying, altering lore etc etc.

Heck they could have the ending to BfA have Arthas showed up, having been ressurected by Bolvar and wielding a purified frostmourne because it’d be a “cool twist.”

What Blizzard really crave for, more than anything, is for reaction videos where YouTubers/Streamers they watch cinematics of story moments and start weeping on camera or are visibly shocked at what they are seeing.

The one thing I am actually excited for in BfA’s story is Vol’jin’s story and Bwondsamdi/Talanji. It is geniuenly interesting for me.

The overarcing war plot and N’zoth is just more of the same usual boring schlock.

Tbh I don’t care about character motivations or whether something is logical anymore, I gave up on that a long while back. Just have to accept that WoW writing is never going to be top tier, it only just creeps into mid tier. I’m just along for the ride.

It’s convenient that they appeared all at the same moment to comment on it, sure, but calling it a “false-flag” is a bit disingenuous. It was a joke in poor taste that could legitimately be flagged under the rules of communication that Blizzard have.

I’m as guilty as the Gnome in question for replying to it and adding to it, tbh. If I got flagged for it I’d know why and wouldn’t be mad, except for losing my sick gif posting abilities. If I was just getting flagged down to hide my comment though, that’s another thing entirely.
