Why would anyone be jealous? I think what you mean to say is that some people have enough common sense to see that having a shop in a game you pay monthly for on top of an expansion every 2 years is gross.

I do, by not buying it, easy peasy.
But this is how capitalism works. I buy an album. I buy tickets for the album tour. Guess what? I have to pay for the tour T-shirt as well. Or it’s like popcorn at the cinema, or football club bobble hats, or official Apple accessories… or a billion other examples of additional revenue streams that are add-ons to the main product. Don’t want them? Don’t buy them!

Imagine spending THOUSANDS of hours to grinding out insane achievments like honor level 500 or 100 exalted reputations just to get a recoloured horse while they put in 7 unique store mounts in a single expansion.

These forums are filled with people telling others what to do and are so adamant. “Do this, do that.” Even if I agree with some of the point the amount of self entitlement towards telling others what to do actually shocks me.
When some random stranger acts like that towards me it makes me want to do what they hate just to annoy them.

None of your examples have a monthly subscription fee on top of everything so not even remotely comparable.
Your example would be, buy expansion, buy store mount. No subscription.
Imagine paying for spotify and then having to pay again to hear certain albums.

There shouldn’t be any downtime when the expansion is far from perfect. No time to design individual class sets but they’ll happily design some mount to make some $$.
It takes away resources that could be used for actually improving the game.

What is there on Beta that the art team has left to work on? The things that are far from perfect are systems by and large. Or should the art team suddenly also masquerade as programmers and such?

Not really sure which part of my post makes you think I want artists to become programmers? Also my point it quite cleary aimed at the art team during the course of BFA and not just what the art team have done during the shadowlands beta.
Not a single class set for the entirety of BFA and most armor recycled/recoloured and reused. Meanwhile they’ve happily funneled resources into designing mounts and pets they can sell for cash on the store.
God forbid I actually want resources used to improve aspects of the game we actually pay for rather than on added extras.

Maybe the art team should design cool stuff during the expansion without Blizzard feeling the need to add it to the store.
