Stop defending the Transmog set from the shop

I’m agreeing with you. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Lol i got that much. I better get to bed instead of haunt these forums, starting to misread things

I have given examples on how they cut content from the game and where things that were supposed to make sense to show up in content, appeared instead on the ingame shop.

The fact that someone still has to buy these tokens to be able for someone else to buy them through ingame currencies is making Blizzard money anyway.

If these things were supposed to always be “available to players” then why did they add them to the ingame store in the first place?

Linking Taliesin’s garbage rhetoric on this thing doesn’t explain why Blizzard is somehow trying to “reward loyal players” with something they have to buy. Either way this promotion is gone in a few months but the set still stays onto the shop.

And like you said, yes you can farm the gold needed to buy these things from the store, but the token price isn’t a stable line, the token was nearing 270k at the beginning of BfA for example.

Let’s throw out all your useless moving of the goal posts and call it what it is. Blizzard is charging you money for something that you’re paying for already. Doesn’t matter how hard you try to justify this behavior.

Second of all, wether you buy tokens with real life money or with gold, it ends up favoring Blizzard anyway. It’s a very quiet milking machine but it works because some people here are too blind to see it.

Third of all, that you can claim these practices are a way of players “funding Shadowlands and game quality as a way of thanking Blizzard” is another dumb statement considering that Activision-Blizzard had a record profit last year, but are actively cutting costs within their company. Did we already forgot that they’re going to close their branch in Versailles.

So no, I don’t agree with Taliesin or anyone who is defending Blizzard on this take, and because of “bbbbb but the ingame shop has been a thing for a few years” doesn’t mean we should be okay with an increased activity for Blizzard adding things to the store the last 2 years.

It is completely absurd that “loyal” players are described to be the ones who pay Blizzard the most money, while you have players who are playing this game since vanilla, who are subscribed for a period of time here and there, still end up in the gutter.

If all it takes to be a “loyal” customer is to throw money at Blizzard, then you need to open a dictionary.

I like how they sell stuff in the store, I just don’t want it.

You mean like Amazon, where you pay a monthly Prime sub and still have to pay for extra movies / TV shows?

Edit: and I had an annual sub for a cinema chain once, didn’t include popcorn. And a season ticket to a football club usually doesn’t even include the match-day programme.

If i got the conversion rate it shouldn’t be TOO bad relatively speaking.

Let’s see, on the EU Token price has generally been hovering 190.000 to 200.000+ for 20 Euro Buy recently, and 13 Euro “Sell” that means that at 20 Euro as a price point the Mog is roughly 2 Tokens worth of Gold, so let’s say 420.000G in case it is a “Bad Day” for buying em and good day for selling em., perfectly managable if you want em enough to get them as a longtime goal, It’s “just” like 6 Teebu’s Scorching Longsword (It is like 70.000 on my server at least, though it is a RP one, so prices can be a bit skewed).

And im saying that as someone who ain’t too hyped about the Cash Shop to start with due sour grapes back when we COULDN’T buy Store Credit with gold, just noting that it ain’t exactly a Brutosaur-tier grind if you gonna buy tokens with gold to get the Store cred and it is MUCH cheaper then some of the stuff that has people demand Gold Cap on the Normal AH or participating in the BMAH on the regular.

Well i just got it as a gift from blizzard due to i always pay every month so i diden’t even on purpose buy it. I’d prefered a nice holy transmorg instead.

Even Spotify has two levels, the free with ads, or the premium where there is no ads and can download!!!

So point was?

At least here with WoW, you have one price for subscription per month (cheaper if taken as 6 months) and you can get all and everything you wish just by playing the game.

If you think a 400k~ transmog (since you need 2 tokens) is bad you should see what people pay for 1 piece of T3, and that’s just 1 piece not a full set

How does farming for months for a stupid low drop rate (Sha mount) count as a okay to obtain in game but as soon as you say to people you can farm for about half that time for a guaranteed store mount that’s suddenly an unacceptable way to obtain a mount in game.

It’s like people are drawing an arbitrary line just because. Most of the store mounts are quicker to obtain than rare drop mounts and require significantly less alt management to improve odds as well.

Would people be happier if a vendor sold them in game for exactly their token worth? I mean that’s essentially what is going on here is it not? People salty about a “shortcut” to said mounts, but they’re not locked behind a paywall at all.

right and? you can pretty much earn everything in the game without gold so your point is irrelevant

Are u OK with tokens? Well here is some thoughts

Because this is the latest ‘damnyoutohellblizz’ bandwagon that everybody feels the need to jump on without actually understanding the issue. I bet there would be an even bigger outcry if the mog was only available to those who purchase a six month sub, as opposed to now, being able to obtain it by playing the game.

This

This is the reason why it’s so sh*t

You are geniously a sheep a big sheep on top of that. Open up your eyes and look why people are actually upset.

These mounts and transmogs are among the best designed mounts ingame hell the transmog set is even 3d.

Yet it is behind a pay wall for a game you already pay every 2 years for a NEW expansion while paying every month a subscription.

They literally put their best work into stuff which you buy for 20 bucks or even more and try to advertise it behind a goodie you get for subscribing 6 months to the game.

This whole tactic is used to keep their players even though the content they deliver is trash, what BFA was. And which logically the explaination for 7 store mounts is.

Hell in 8.2 we got like 10 recolours of rays, even the prestige Gladiator mounts are recoloured proto-drakes which is insanity.

All these kind of unique store mounts should have been ingame rewards.

Then why do so many people want the Gul’dan Mount, Jaina mount etc. which are all obtainable in-game and look pretty damn great.

And the amount of people looking to finish their Legion tier sets to mog cause they like them too.

You make it sound like 1 transmog set in 15 years (cause 3 helmets doesn’t make a full set) is the end of the world, to top it off it’s not even that good looking unless you’re gonna play Night fae.

And they can still be if you’re good at farming gold. Each mount will cost you 2 tokens which is about 400k~ gold. Which honestly isn’t that bad. Buying all 17 costs 6.8m~ gold which is a bit over the longboi but you get 17 instead of 1.

The problem with people whining about this is that the same people have no issues buying tokens to fund their gametime but as soon as something else is added in the shop you’re all of a sudden outraged and so mad

The point is Blizzard should not triple dip, it’s free for me when I buy with gold but Blizz are still making 20 euros if I buy a token through someone else. It’s scummy when you pay for an expansion, pay for a monthly subscription and then on top of that have a third revenue stream.

Blizzard has three, that’s where the problem lies.

Amazon is a retailer though, prime is just the streaming platform which is more akin to battle.net. I don’t expect to get free hearthstone cards or overwatch skins for playing WoW.

Again, still two revenue streams, not three.

I have to disagree - the transmog is pretty rubbish imho, I wouldn’t pay £1 for it so I’m glad I get it for free. The wings look good on my spriest in shadowform for Halloween but I’ll not be using any other mog elements. The mounts are OK, but not top tier - neither the mouse nor steamscale are amongst my Favourited mounts. If I had to pay more than the monthly sub price over six months for any of them, they’d really not be worth it imho.

I understand your point and get while you are disappointed, but as I’ve pointed out in one of my earlier post this is perfectly typical, normal behaviour for any company. In fact, many companies do far worse to their customers - insurance companies, energy suppliers, credit card companies etc. This issue of a very small number of vanity items being available only to people who sub for 6 months or pay on the shop is a tiny insignificance.

Pray tell…what are the three that are a problem?

Expansion, subscription, store. Two is fine, three is greedy.
