Targeted Corruptions and Faster Cloak Empowerment

That’s what I mean effectively making it “more number, more better” and providing no benefit to the player.

It is not a catch up if you increase the price. Making it pointless since as I pointed out alts are ALWAYS going to buy essences before corruption

The echoes for essences is the catch up we got before, and it just stays there. it is going nowhere. We get now something extra on top of that system for corruption.

Well. This inflation wasn’t targeted to make alts life’s easier or harder. They remain un-changed.
The main focus was on echo horders.
A direct quote:

So apart from a number just changing from 500 to 2500 physicialy(and not in value). Alts dont gain anything and they dont lose anything either…so…your complaining about…what exactly?

It feels like this is the case of:

Blizzard…simply…cant…win lolz

How are you “punished”?

You had the benefit of them for how long? If you bought the ones you didn’t need for completionist reasons then thats like whining you got punished because something you wanted became available at a shop after you spent all your money on crap you didn’t need.

Forum logic I guess.

It was already a catch up mechanic and it wasn’t introduced yesterday so by now everyone should have all the essences they want on all their alts. They kept the price the same for essences but now we can buy corruption with it. It’s not unreasonable at all.

So my guildmate and i have been playing our mages as mains this whole patch and are currently on 11/12M. I got all my Rank 3 and he’s only missing Ripple in Space. Eventhough we both played this content a lot, he gained 28k Echos while i gained 0. Masterfull Rank 1 costs 3k, so i guess Masterfull Rank 3 would be ~ 9k. So when this Patch hits live he’ll be able to buy 3 Masterfull Rank 3 Corruptions with which he will upgrade his 475 loot.
One 475 BoE with Masterfull Rank 3 goes for ~ 7Million gold.
So i effectivly lost ~21M gold compared to my guildmate, because i got Ripple in Space Rank 3.
Blizz can we, uhm, like not do it that way? Feels kinda bad tbh.

Then you buy it a week later.

Snort, what kind of logic is this even?

I have like 12-15k ish echoes of nyalotha on my mage so I’ll be able to buy masterful r3 once its available at the local vendor. I havent gotten a single masterful r3 since 8.3 launch. Rng kicked me right in my trollish b… eee blue head. They are finally removing immense corruption RNG and people are still going to whine.

I don’t think this is a bad idea tho. I mean this whole random drop thing just gave ppl advantage over others, especially in arenas.

For those who worry about arena: People with such op corruption are already present, but this time you will have the chance to become even with them. In my honest oppinion they should disable corruption at arenas for good.

People who are thinking retrospectively: I don’t get the idea. They come up with something as a solution to make the game more enjoyable. Its like you would ask compensation for what was bad in a previous content. Makes no sense to me. They are trying to enhance gameplayer experience.

Just a random thought: How about being able to “destroy” our well stacked wardrobe of useless corruptions into echo of nyalotha? Just like you do with azerite armors.

Again increasing the price is a net zero increase.

Which makes it pointless other then to inflate the numbers to make the amount you receive feel better

They could have made buying a vial 350 echoes but they didn’t why because 1750 makes it feel better then 350.

There is no reason any of the corruptions prices couldn’t be divided by 5.

As I pointed out originally and you have repeated essence purchase IS the catch up mechanic.

Increasing both the gain and the price is net zero for the sake of increasing the number.

If they increased the gain and kept the essence prices that makes alt catch up easier since they will then be working towards corruption, again no alt will buy corruption over essences. Which makes the price increase pointless except “more number, more better”

So you are angry because the numbers are not small enough for you… Now that’s top tier forum whining.

On a side note its gonna be hilarious when you kill carapace and nzoth and your 485 drop gets random useless corruption and you cant even use scroll on it. Oh this is gonna be glorious.

Ok. Now this going straight in some weird conspiracy theories.
I will repeat once. ALTS ARE NOT AFFECTED. This change is NOT aimed at them. The price is not being reduced or increased. it does NOT affect them?

I already told you the reason why the inflated the prices and sources.

You are pretty much complaining that 2500 is not a “pretty” number and you like 500 more cause its…your “lucky” number? What ever.
I am sorry…but my brain is being wrecked now…
People complain about THAT too now?

Lets might as well discuss the color of of the sky. I like the blue color in that sky more than in this sky…cause…why not? Nothing is making sense anymore

Again not about the numbers.

The point is that making the cost of essences 5 times larger does not help catch up.

That shouldn’t be a hard concept to grasp but apparently it is.

It also amazes me people don’t understand the psychology of numbers in game theory

Is it going to hurt? You also get 5 times more.

O boy…

Ok 3rd time the charm.
THE SOURCE IS ALSO GETTING increased 5 times.
Here. Did you get through?

Whats the difference between getting 125 echoes for assault and price of essence is 500
And 625(5x 125) from assault and price of essence is 2500(5x500)

For havens sake…

“Now that i think about it, 500 was always too much, stupid Blizzard

But isn’t that the point they are trying to make. If there is no difference why bother scaling it by 5?

Unless i’m getting confused too xd
