TBC: Rerolling to Horde?

Hi. I’m currently playing Alliance on a PvE realm but it already feels like Horde are getting slightly more. Heard that it will be increased in TBC

If I want to DPS and most likely will play a hunter, is there real much benefit of rerolling Horde? I don’t mind leveling again, as it’s fun. Not sure if I’d benefit from/enjoy the endgame more

Cheers

Short answer: yes.

It will be much easier to find raiding guilds (as most player in TBC will be horde). You should go orc BM if you want to min max

It’s mostly minmaxers and/or PvPers who will reroll Horde en-masse. I assume there’ll be many 20/80 A/H PvP servers. But 20/80 is barely playable, so many out of those 20% Alliancers will server transfer to PvE.

In the limit, we may face a situation when all the PvP servers are 99% Horde, while PvE servers are the place where Alliance can play and keep being Alliance-dominated.

If this logic is correct, it’s wrong to reroll if you’re on a PvE realm.

Only if you are into super min/maxing otherwise it does not matter at all.

If you care about battlegrounds at all stay Alliance, many people will reroll Horde for PvP minmaxing and to avoid getting slaughtered in open world which will make battleground queues significantly longer than they are now, meanwhilwe you will have an easy time gearing your characters with premades.

Alliance PvE us the best place to be if you’re not a hardcore min maxer, raids and dungeons aren’t that difficult compared to endgame mythic content

I’m 90% sure that a lot of people will be rerolling horde… especially on PvP realms
What’s the point being alliance in TBC, when horde have better paladins(AoE silence+seal of blood) / shamans? xD.

PvE realms wouldn’t be so bad, so either people will reroll horde or transfer to PvE realm, so they don’t get heavily outnumbered.

All PvP realms will be at least 20/80, in favour of the Horde, because of meta-obsessed nerds. I won’t ever roll Horde, because I have some sense of loyalty to my faction that I have played for 15 odd years now.

So, in case the playerbase decides to ruin PvP realms, I’ll have to reroll on a PvE one for the first time ever.

Long live the Alliance!

You can transfer characters from pvp to pve realm, I hope they will enable it for free if they create tbc servers

Heh, it’s funny how I know the wow from only Horde side, but long time ago when I tried Alliance, it’s totally somwthing different, at least in early leveling. I was lost a bit, because didn’t know absolutely the alliance quests, Deadmines (as Horde I have never played there) and in all Alliance capitals I was lost like a little child.
Back to topic: if u like Alliance, play Alliance, since nobody except yourself should force into have the best combination of race/class. If u are not min-maxing, play whatever you want.

Sure, let us all roll Horde for TBC because Horde is better. Who cares about faction balance and BG queues as long as we all can take our Orcs to Outland and try to get the tag on the stupid moron that remained in the Alliance!

1 thing is 100% certain. All PvP servers will became monofaction after 3 months.
And 3 months after that they will became flamelashes with 2000 horde and 18 alliance online. I can tell you a secret now, and you can thank me later
Reroll to PvE realm before its too late

Yes, you should be horde for TBC or transfer to PVE which will be my choice. You can opt to try and be hardcore and stay alliance on a pvp server, but I guarantee you its gonna suck and be frustrating.

That would be me! Though, I will likely move to a PvE realm, eventually. Not gonna give the Horde twits the satisfaction of killing me even once!

the powergap between horde and alliance racials are very exagregated

Yes horde have slightly better racials, but they will only make a real difference for the top 10% of players that are PvP’ing, or fighting for those 100% logs

only the most hardcore players reroll for the racials, the rest probably rerolls cause they have gotten this false idea that horde are superpowerfull compared to alliance so there is no point in playing it.

Dranei racial is very powerfull for PvE, 1% hit for the entire party with 100% uptime, is probably one of the most powerfull PvE racials in the game.

Blood Elf ret paladin are being described as gods in some forum threads, which is simply not true at all. they become quite decent in PvP, but for PvE they are still pretty bad, most raids that care about their roster, only bring a single ret paladin/arms warrior, for the damage buff and blessing. So i think quite a few ret paladins will get a harsh awakening once they get to 70.

If I could convince my guild since 15 years switch to alliance i would have played alliance in classic and tbc.

I dont belive in the ret paladin hype somehow will make everyone go horde for pvp.
They will still be garbage, avenging wrath is dispellable so is the seals.
I dont remeber meeting a singel ret in 2s and 3s on glad rating back in tbc.
True my memory might be failing me and the private server meta might have change things abit.

Blood elf ret paladins deal competitive damage if they are willing to farm dark runes and use them on cooldown, while alliance paladins won’t be able compete with melee dps, but you will always want 3 paladins in a raid and 1 ret paladin to refresh judgements that holy and prot paladin cast on bosses.

Same spec paladins don’t stack well in TBC, but having one of each spec is always better than bringing some other class in 25 mans.

Blood Elf Ret Paladins are better than Human/Dwarf/Draenei due to Seal of Blood so they have the advantage there. But this is only one spec of one class.

Blood Elves’ racials aren’t that impressive, not compared to Undead or Orc anyway.

If there will be a swing to Horde, which there most likely will be, it’s because people that like to play pretty characters can finally do so on Horde.

Just look at history. Vanilla was roughly 70% Alliance 30% Horde which evened out to about 55% Alliance 45% Horde in TBC - solely due to Blood Elves. Not because of Seal of Blood or their racials, nobody gave a damn about those. They just wanted pretty sparkling elves.

So when we are in a situation where in current Classic the factions on EU are almost evenly 50%/50% (don’t argue this based on personal experience being ganked in open world, check the consensus sites)…

In TBC we could be looking at something like 65% Horde to 35% Alliance.

You are missing the fact that people today are min maxing and it revolves around pvp, old content is piss easy, APES went alliance and every warrior rolled gnome for escape artist even though human weapon skill is by far the strongest pve racial.

Every ret paladins that gives a damn about arena will play a blood elf, just like most people will play undead for triple undead RMP.

And than in Wrath everyone will faction change back to human because horde racials will get nerfed and humans get pvp trinket as a racial just like every big pvper was alliance in patch 3.3

Like I said before casual mentality is very rare on pvp servers, on pve servers you get the taste of old vanilla atmosphere where people play what they like instead of what is fotm

I ll tell you who doesnt care about the faction balance. Blizzard. I made a 60 level pally in Flamelash EU. There was so much more horde players, server died. What did blizzard do? Instead of merging the dead servers, putting a limit to populated faction, they asked me to pay 25 euro to move to another faction. Im not gonna risk “leveling another char to 60 to not pay blizzard 25 euro” for your BG queues.
