I don’t want to have the world buff and consumestacking meta in tbc at launch, it’s the single aspect of classic that I absolutely despise.
Take the most polished part of tbc(2.4.3) and buff the content around the
class-balancing at that patch instead of recreating every single bad and broken aspect of the old patches. I’d rather have the most polished version of tbc rather than having to wait for obviously broken and unintended mechanics to be fixed later on.
Edit: Yes I think they should have the original attunements as well. They nerfed them later on so that people could catch up.
Thanks.

I fully agree with you. As long as the revered heroic keys are in game, catch up badge gear only comes with the appropriate raid releases and the raids themselves are phased tier by tier, not all tiers at once like in 2.0

I’m OK with 2.4.3 ONLY if :
- Revered key for heroics (prenerf).
- All attunements are mandatory (prenerf).
- Raids are not in 2.4.3, no nerfed boss. Take all encounter is their original version and apply bug fix, do not apply HP/Damage/Mechanic nerf.
They can destroy attunements, Honored key for heroics, and nerfed all boss in the last phase if they want.
Do people feel better when raids are harder and fewer guilds kill bosses ? Yes

I can’t remember, when they announced Classic did they announce which patch it would be at the same time?
No but it was one of the first things they clarified.
Back when Classic was announced, they started posting one blue post each week dealing with a different aspect of the game: starting patch, phases, itemization, etc. That was partly to inform us of how things were going, but also to keep the hype up while they got beta up and running.
I think TBC will be very different. TBC as a project likely got the greenlight almost as soon as Classic launched with the numbers it did. Which means that Blizzard has been working on TBC Classic at least since a year or so (which is pretty apparent from the job positions they opened and filled in the meanwhile). This means that there’s a lot less of a need, on their part, to “buy time” between announcement and launch, especially if the leaks are to be believed and we get announcement at Blizzcon, beta in March, pre-patch in mid-April and TBC in early May.
What I mean is that I don’t know - and I doubt - that they’ll shed light on the most technical aspects of TBC as early as Blizzcon, but they won’t keep us waiting for as long as they did with Classic, I reckon. I expect the announcement to be followed by meaty details soon - especially since they’ve shown willingness in the past to adjust their decisions in the face of overwhelming community consensus (think of how they changed from 4 phases to 6, or how they added spell batching, and so on). But to do so they need to give us the info soon enough for us to express an opinion.
Bottom line: one way or the another, it won’t take long.
I don’t agree with this point. Some classes can get bis gear from professions and they don’t need to spam normals just for key access. I found it to be an unnecessary restriction imo.
I agree Tbc should start at 02/4/2023 just to piss off the classic leavers

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind a 2 year break. I bet Activision shareholders would, however.
Last 6 months we got 7 blue posts here. 2 of them was irrelevant, 4 of them was regular announcements.
You guys are funny, do you really think actiblizzion actually put a penny to classic tbc?
Come on, dont be so naive. They will inject any patch with all its bugs, first month they communicate with us pretty often and than they left tbc into the abyss as they did in classic.
Your name fits your post perfectly.
You don’t get all your BiS from professions.
Anyway, revered key = doing PvE to unlock PvE content…

No, please don’t do 2.4.3 crap. I want a challenging TBC, not the same mistake as in classic. The reworked talent trees made Classic bosses too easy. Give us the game as in good old days. Give us the game we loved!
The people who want the 2.4.3 prenerf crap can go and play Retail!

The major talent rework in tbc was done in patch 2.1 not 2.4
Yes, it should start at 2.4.3.
There’s no reason why the difficulty can’t be adjusted, but I don’t see the point why people are obsessing over it. It was a step up from Vanilla, but if you think it’s gonna be supa challenging in 2021… oh boy, are you in for a disappointment.

There were other major changes after 2.1 that will have a huge impact on raid dps and healing though. Such as 2.4 changing spell haste so that it can reduce the gcd from 1.5 to 1 seconds. A huge portion of an arcane mage’s dps comes from 1.5 second casts, before haste buffs such as haste, heroism, icy veins and drums. It’s a ridiculously large buff for some specs/classes.
Then there are the drum changes. One of the most effective ways of preventing drums and leatherworking from becoming meta from the launch is to launch the original version of them. That will make most people not bother, while the hard core players can do if they want. Pretty much as it is with flasks now.
There was no reason the difficulty of classic raids couldn’t be adjusted either, but blizzard pretty much always chose the lazy/cheap solution.

No thanks it’s the worst tbc patch.
heroics felt like normals after this why make the game even easier? it’s just as bad as world buff meta make the game easy mode. patch 2.4 circle of healing gets so overbuffed as well when it becomes a smart heal you can heal black temple just spamming that on cd I noticed how much easier the game was after the change progressive patches are the way forward with disabling world buffs and drum spam
Well, Blizzcon is next Friday, we’ll see.
Using 2.4.3 as base is fine but they should revert some nerfs.
Here is an exemple with only 1 dungeon (Botanica) :
2.0.10 :
- Creatures in Botanica, Mechanar, and Arcatraz no longer respawn as rapidly.
- Sunseeker Gene-Splicer’s Death and Decay now deals significantly less damage and casts less frequently.
- Mutate Fleshlashers now deal less melee damage.
- Mutate Horrors and Fear-Shriekers now have less health.
- Sunseeker Researchers will now cast shocks less frequently.
- The Blue Seedlings in the High Botanist Freywinn encounter now slow players instead of immobilizing them.
- High Botanist Freywinn will now plant seedlings at a slightly reduced rate.
2.1.0 :
- Glancing Blows have significantly less of a chance to occur during a player’s melee attacks when targets are near the player’s level.
- Creatures will no longer Cleave targets that aren’t in front of them.
- Creatures will no longer perform Sweeping Strikes.
- Bloodwarder Protector’s Crystal Strike may now be dodged and parried.
- Tempest-Forge Peacekeepers now deal Physical melee damage instead of Arcane, and no longer perform the Arcane Blast ability on Heroic difficulty.
- The duration of Vial of Poison has been reduced significantly.
- Nethervine Reapers and Inciters’ damage has been reduced in Heroic difficulty.
- Thorngrin the Tender’s damage has been reduced in Heroic difficulty.
- Mutate Fleshlasher’s damage has been reduced in Heroic difficulty.
- The Sunseeker Gene-Splicer’s Death & Decay will occur less frequently and the damage has been reduced on Heroic difficulty.
- Mutate Fear-Shrieker and Mutate Horror hit points are reduced
- Warp Splinter’s Arcane Volley damage has been reduced on Heroic.
- The Bloodwarder Protector’s involved in the fight with the Mutate Horror’s and Mutate Fear-Shrieker’s in The Botanica no longer remain at 1 health and will properly be killed.
2.2.0 :
- The time between casting of Thorgrin the Tender’s Hellfire has been increased.
- The time between casting of Thorgrin the Tender`s Sacrifice has been increased in Heroic Mode.
- Thorgrin the Tender’s Enrage ability now increases his melee damage by 75% instead of 110%.
Just imagine, those are only direct nerf for 1 dungeon.
Meanwhile the classes/talents/items/racials/haste etc… were better each patch (indirect nerf)
If you want to play at punishing difficulty, why don’t you go play mythic+ ahead of curve retail bullet hell frogger.
That’s a lot of changes, and I see the benefit of undoing some of them. We’ve got the PTR, players could test and give feedback. All good.
Now, just by skim-reading, I think some of these changes should be available on release. For example these:
