Thalyssra is a terrible ruler

I think ‘ruler’ is the wrong word here -
She’s making it up as she goes along after her people fought a bloody civil war that could have had world ending consequences. Then they lost their power source that had sustained them for millennia. It’s a lot to deal with in the space of an expansion.

The parallels between the Nighbourne and the Belves are much stronger than with the Nelves - in every way possible. In my view they joined Quel’Thalas - the Horde are just a necessary part of that alliance.

Do those exist?

Well of course the do. My main Horde character is a Nightborn Shadow Priest. The other races do simply not appeal to me as much…especially their hunched posture…damned stand straight you are not slaves and beaten down…them again I also play a Bloodelf Paladin…

No, you don’t get to pretend that she joined the Horde just to spite Tyrande since there are several other more important factors here than Tyrande’s feelings. They were brought into the Horde by a race that was very similar to the nightborne in culture and in experience since the Belfs were nearly wiped out themselves, had to overcome addiction and their culture is heavily focused on magic. Saying they joined the Horde just cause Tyrande is dishonest. No doubt Tyrande’s lack of diplomacy contributed in Thalyssra’s decision, but much less than Lor’themar non judgmental and understanding approach.

I never said she was a Void Elf, I said she’s their leader. Turalyon isn’t exactly a Lightforged Draenei, but he’s still their faction leader.

Why did they have to join either faction? They could have just been neutral.

I just don’t think someone should join a faction just because some race appeal to them more, then would Tauren join Alliance because they like Night Elves, literally whole Kalimdor is Tauren and Night Elves being friends and helping each other in dark times.

Major problems though.

Due to Tyrandes Decision, Thalyssra had 2 Choices

  • Remain in the broken shores, ALone with 0 Reinforcements in a City which had been Sacked during a Civil War.
  • Join the Horde. which would not only protect her people and city but also bolster their numbers among creation of new Alliances.

Thalyssra wasnt present for almost all the war campaign, her Largest Part is being Sat on the boat. lol, She didnt personally set fire to the tree, none of the horde leaders did, Slyvanus Did. and even with numerous Conflict in opinons they were still apart of the horde when these things happened.

Its not exactly easy to walk out of somewhere with a Single Race and make a Enemy out of 2 factions. Thalyssra was in the factions Debts.

She didnt overthrow Suramer. We did.
She didnt kill Elisande. We did.

Tyrande would have never accepted People who Abandoned ELune and turned to arcane Addiction. Effectively Nightborne are blood elves, but descending Night elves and not High Elves. they are effectively the same thing so of course bonds between these two Races would occur.

after being left with the only option being staying excluded from Help, on a broken island within a City which was Sacked from a Civil War. Yeah Sure. Must be easy to Live like that. Both factions could turn on Suramer in this circumstance.

If Slyvanus Went After the Nightborne they’d of Been wiped out lol.

Actually she did, she was among the people who rescued Baine and Fought against Slyvanus’s Troops throughout that Plot, She didnt act before others did however… but she would of been stupid too

1 Race against a Entire Faction Would of caused the extinction of her Race.

Joining neither faction and remaining alone also Had high potiental of extincting her race.

tbh ur asking a Horde Character about her opinons on her Enemy Faction. More so, Night elves which are proved to hate one ANother massively… its Not Abnormal for you to Exaggerate your opinons in these matters.

Liadrin was Intending to recruit the Nightborne not only this at potiental of losing Allies to her Worst enemy.

not a case of favorites.

Shes in a position where she needs allies and has to join someone.

Option A Said No
Option B said yes.

She did what brought her people the most protection realistically. the Alliance Wouldnt comit genocide reguardless… where the Horde would. So she would have just been killed off by Slyvanus if She said no or fought against Slyvanus’s crimes.

not saying the Writing is the best, Nor her lead up is… but tbh ALL the horde racial Leaders looked horrific lore wise throughout BFA. Baine watched a World tree burn with 0 Fight back.

realistically when looking at the other options, she didnt have Alot of choice in what her next step had to be.

I actually do main Night Elf too! She is my fire mage while nightborne is my arcane mage…
And what do you mean…

The first time they stopped burning legion alone, I’m pretty sure when Azshara tried to get Sargeras into Azeroth but failed because night elves(kal’dorei): Malfurion, Tyrande, Illidan…

Second time it was with: Orcs, Humans, and Night Elves together. I mean almost whole Warcraft III is about that.

How dare you! Thalyssra is the best. I hope to see more of her.

Neither Thalryssa or Tyrande have been very well written, and sadly they aren’t the only ones who have suffered.

I can so relate to that. I really liked Tyrande’s early character but as expansions go on it pains me to see most of her interactions with non Night Elves.

I feel in BFA Shandris is promoted to be the more likable leader while Tyrande goes on to become more hostile.

My dislike for Tyrande stems from that stupid questline in Valsharah

MY LOVE!

They really did do Tyrande dirty.

honestly you have a point, why didn’t they make nightborne like pandarens ?! a dual race. i mean Thalyssra can’t make and force every nightborne to hate the alliance and side with the horde.

a people freed from tyranny and the legion being “forced” to side with 1 faction and despise the other makes no sense.

Two things:

  1. The Pandaren who joined the factions are basically two schools where each chose the opposite faction. The Nightborne are a society. Their leader chose to join the horde. Splintering from your society to join the Alliance means abandoning your home in Suramar, and possible even your family.
  2. It’s a pretty known fact that Blizzard doesn’t want to create another race like the Pandaren which will be available to both factions.

Tbh this is the truth :frowning:

I mean given the situation it’s understandable thalryssa would join the horde, but it was mainly the writers who wanted nightborne to be horde so wrote it to force the concept of nightborne becoming horde.

It seems mental that the nightelves dogpiled suramer aswell for tyrande to suddenly reject the nightborne race :joy:

These days the stories are their to justify blizzards decisions, not blizzard following a story anymore

Let me remind you that if it wasnt for that old Nelf druid and his super tree the Nightborne would have no food source :stuck_out_tongue: what did these arseholes do in return ? Oh yeah they helped to burn Teldrassil and committed genocide on the Nelfs… ! I have no sympathy for these backstabbing snakes the Horde can keep them :unamused:

Given the situation or given the nature of the NB elves? Cause there’s some conflict there. Let’s stop the BS for a minute and stop pretending the nelfs are just some hippie tree lovers who just wanna love everyone. They are not. They are savage and distrustful of magic users. Which is exactly what the NB elves are, a race of magic users who are addicted to magic. So there’s that little conflict of interests and a lot of contempt from the nelfs, Blizzard didn’t pull Tyrande’s reaction out of a hat.

On the other hand the belfs were happy to befriend the NB because they share the same cultural hobby and even more important they went through the same unfortunate series of events that threatened them with extinction. So the blood elves could at least empathize with the NB elves.

People saying this isn’t “right” either really don’t have any idea what they are talking about, or really would rather have had NB on the blue side. It’s just an assumption cause the convenient dismissal of important factors about the story of the NB elves joining the Horde.

You’re are not the only one, this sentiment is growing in the playerbase as people grow more sick and tired of the faction divide.
