Thank you, but this is not for me

Depends if you speak about OG/TBC or Wrath. The latter is indeed not hard just time consuming. Classes are overall stronger than they were in previous expansions with more of them being actively strong like Paladins who are like night and day between OG and Wrath. But even as Priest (Discipline) there’s not much difficulty other than mana needing refill after most AoE pulls. Really only pure healers really have it hard on their own

It’s true that Wrath mobs are far weaker than their Classic era equivalents, I don’t have nearly as much respect for them, and most of my open world deaths in Wrath have been due to falling damage - in fact I’ve managed to solo all-but two of every group quest in the game. Only two I failed on was Basic Chemistry which cannot be soloed, and the one to kill those big dogs in Icecrown ramparts which stack a nasty healing debuff on you, making Mend Pet ineffective.

I meant in General. Even in Vanilla Zones most mobs aren’t exactly a threat unless you do something absolutely dumb like luring way too many mobs in while one of them has some sort of interupt/Silence since our classes are much stronger than they were back in Vanilla. As for group quests… Ones I couldn’t solo in Wrath so Far were March of Giants but that’s mostly when I was on level since damage of the constructs was too much and the quest in Borean Tundra since the target was a mage with a nasty powerful spell which is something my Paladin can’t really negate.

These people don’t have logic, they only have an agenda. They will say anything to promote that agenda. You can never have an honest discussion with them about RDF.

When you talk with normal people you can discuss pros and cons and at least agree to disagree but these people will never admit to any argument or fact that doesn’t support their agenda. They always make straw man arguments, move the goal posts, lie and deny facts of reality. On top of that they spam and are conspiracy theorists.

There’s a trick to doing March of the Giants. Find the lone elite mob Megalith, kill him (he hits like wet noodle when compared to the other giants), use quest item. Repeat twice.

I’d imagine that you’re right when you say vanilla mobs are not as hard as they were, due to Wrath power creep, I’ve not had first-hand experience, as haven’t played any low level chars since Wrath launched, and won’t do until I know for sure I won’t be forced to upgrade to Cataclysm. My memory is reliant upon my original 2008 experience.

But I still maintain that vanilla-zone Wrath mobs/quests are still harder than retail versions. They still may not offer up a huge challenge for experienced players, but they’re still harder.

I’d be surprised if most classes at low level (unless they out-level it, or are super twinked) can just run into big packs of Gnolls, murlocs etc. and AOE them down in a heartbeat without a care in the world, and walk away at 100% health. Some caution and care still has to be used - but my limited experience with retail is of me doing precisely that. It seemed almost impossible to die, whereas a fleeing mob, episode of carelessness, or bad pull could totally do that in a vanilla zone.

I managed to kill easily all low level zone elites. But ye, dks are really strong. I only had problems with Zul’Drak arena, soloed only first boss at 75. I had to return at 80.
With priest on vanilla back in 2005 i stopped playing at level 35, i did 39 on classic era but at those point mobs were too much hard (most of them elite) and time consuming to kill that i stopped. With hunter on the other way i never had problems levelling. This class disbalance always pissed me off, it is much better in wrath (ye everyone is op but noone really struggle when solo level).

Oh yeah, and one in Borean, which I also can’t remember name of, seems to be heavily luck based.

First attempt he seemed to get off a huge crit (or something) on my pet, who died, and so did I when Feign Death was resisted.

Second attempt, same thing happened, but I lived thanks to FD.

Third attempt went like clockwork, no huge crit, my turtle survived and I won.

Helped a few people with it since then and same thing happens. Sometimes my pet takes a huge damage spike, sometimes it doesn’t.

From the mouth of people who, quite literally and earnestly proclaim “RDF killed WoW”.

Most wont touch it cause, no one plays it, so the arena rating is way lower than it ever originally were, meaning optaining equal rating to original wrath isnt just harder cause of more skilled players, the MMR system is actively making those requirements far higher percentiles than they originally was meant to be.

Generally that is true, but from what i could clearly see, the biggest losses in the games activity was clearly when the content was too hard like Vash and SWP. People were leaving in droves, which wasnt the same for BT at all.

Cause you are comparing a what 1/30000 competitive pvp spot title vs some random pve events. Push for rank 1 speed parse guild or nr 1 all stars on your class and both things will also be severely engaging to get to.

Nobody said that. Or can you produce a quote?

Just a 2 minute google search, I’m sure I could find more if you really wanted me to.

“for me”

Thats a hell of a lot of different than to say RDF killed WoW.

Dunning-Kruger.

Oh, I see, you want me to prove through quotes that WoW is literally dead.

I gotcha.

That’s not gonna happen. For obvious reasons.

So why are you claiming this then?

Cause they literally did, see above.
