Indeed. So what do you think of all those who feel outraged or damaged by the removal of something like that, as if the game was ruined forever by such changes?
What I mean to say is that sure, I would love for more proper content ASAP, but since I agree that the accusations were rightful, the ripples of in-game repercussions caused by the accusations are something that I can easily shrug off even if I donāt find them necessary.
I donāt think we need to know in detail who was hurt or how exactly, and I donāt think we are here to pass judgements on the rightfulness of their feelings. Thatās what the lawsuit was about it, an we are not lawyers.
On the other hand, if a company of such size is willing to āwasteā that many resources on such thingsā¦ then they probably had proper reasons for it, even if we canāt imagine them.
I havenāt seen a single person argue that the whole game is ruined because of this. Not 1.
We just find it silly and pointless and a contradiction of their stated goals.
Well, I think this is probably the crux of the issue. None of us can really imagine what these reasons actually are, and this obviously makes Blizzard look tremendously silly.
Another core part of it is that it feels as if Blizzard are transporting their in-office issues to the playerbase, where they do not belong. We have many problems in this playerbase, but /spit isnāt one of them.
āEvolution of Creative Contentā ----> Replacing women with fruits, renaming NPCs like āConcubineā to smth else cause itās offensive (to whom, the management?), deleting some emotes from the game for what reasonā¦?
Aināt knowing there was such a lawsuit enough explanation?
To me it is. The rest is a matter of privacy.
I can agree that /spit wasnāt a problem to me. But I also donāt think that the removal of /spit is damaging to me. Iād have to consider myself insane and reconsider my entertainment schedule if it annoyed me by any extent.
As a matter of facts I think itās well within Blizzardās right to remove an emote (that can still be customized with /e) because āsomething happened to someone working for themā.
I donāt think they are transporting any of their issues to me by removing this. Why would it? It doesnāt limit my freedom to type a rude emote, if I ever wished to. (Although I never found it necessary to, lol).
No, the lawsuit does not explain why the toxicity level of the playerbase is a focus.
In my personal experience, the toxicity of this community isā¦ fairly minor. Most of the toxicity arises when you are dealing with the LFR/LFD/BG system by far, which doesnāt surprise me in the slightest.
Then thereās a few game mechanics that make peopleās heads pop with rage, which in turn leads them to become toxic. Keys that lower themselves are a good example of this.
The real problem in this community is bots, boosting, and gold buying, but no focus whatsoever is being allotted to that problem.
I meanā¦ /moon never knew it was in the game tbh. I tried and basically does nothing but an emote text. My char doesnāt drop her pants. If itās not visual, why removing it?
For burp and fartā¦ these are involuntary bowel movements that occurs normally. In some cultures burping after a meal means you are praising the chef.
And fartingā¦ oh well that happened to me while I was typing here soā¦I donāt find it offensive
As said to othersā¦ for all we know, someone specific may have harassed someone else specific through it.
Since I agree that the lawsuit was rightful, this mere possibility is a legit explanation to me.
Besides, Iād feel insane and selfish if I thought the damage done to me by the removal of something that silly was more important than the feelings of someone who may have also been hurt through them.
But thatās just me of course. I try to avoid farting loudly in public in real life, tooā¦
