The new User Interface 👎

Broken things must not be tolerated. So yea there will be as many threads as it is needed until the broken elements are fixed.

Today my ui decided to not save anything anymore. Made a decent ui yesterday but decided to make a small change today and now everything is a mess and nothing saves whatever change i do.
Deleted the cache, interface and WTF folders did not help. Disabling addons did not help.
Got a mess on my screen now and can’t do anything about it :frowning:

I wish I was 16 and unemployed… then I could play wow all the time and complain more about stuff that works perfectly fine on the forums :two_hearts:

New UI is kinda broken.
It’d prolly be a bit better if they fixed the stuff that doesn’t work.

I found that using the default locations for the right hand bars at least mitigated it a bit as the seem to be most affected by this). For some reason moved bars are not forcing the bags to move to the left whereas the default position does. The same issue affected the little diagram for 2seater or vendor mount (and I assume the damage armour diagram)as it appeared under the toolbar if you had moved them.

CTMod (bottom bar) allows the micro (not kidding about it being micro) menu and the bags to be moved but not resized.

Such a pity there is no way to set text size separately. I could use it a little bit larger but then the UI would get larger which I don’t need (apart from that aforementioned micro menu)

I, too, have terrible eyesight. I used to read the Quest Text on Wowhead until I found the Storyline AddOn. It displays a close-up of you and the NPC in dialogue with the text broken up into smaller paragraphs in larger white font on a dark background. Much easier to read and you can use number keys to select from the speech options.

It wasn’t working yesterday but I haven’t updated my AddOns yet. I hope it has been updated for DF.

I just updated my Storyline AddOn and it is working again. This makes Quest text (any dialogue with an NPC) much easier to read. Since I found this AddOn I’ve been much happier and read all the Quests now (I sometimes skipped reading them in the past or went to Wowhead to read the description if it was needed).

easier or bigger? I might give that addon a try for hubby. Thank you

It has obviously escaped your attention, but the UI is not working for everyone. I spoke above about having issues with my eyesight and also having issues with the UI.

As I said to somebody above just because you are not having issues with the UI does not mean everyone is in the same position as you.

If you really are a grownup, you would not be attempting to belittle the valid criticisms that other people have with the UI.

Thankyou for the response.

To be honest I had not considered looking for an addon to help with the quest text etc.

I will probably look into it as a result of your suggestion.

Sadly however I feel compelled to say that we should not have to go looking for addons just to have the game be accessible.

I do not think Blizzard have done any testing with the new UI with the settings set at 114% in the graphics settings.

In this day and age there is no excuse for not doing this kind of testing before releasing new content. It is not like Blizzard are a small company that are just starting out. Accessibility should be an important part of their development program.

I agree with you it is messed up.

People should not need to ask for sympathy. It should be a given that people show understanding to each other. That should be especially the case towards those who have disabilities.

It truly is sad that some people feel like they can devalue others simply because they are sat behind a computer screen. I bet many of them would not behave the same way in their own communities as they would get a backlash.

Having a disability has taught me that life is far too short and that we should see the value in each other rather than needlessly seek out confrontation with others.

Buffs can be resized and placed else were
Debuffs can be resized and placed else were.
My ability bar can be 3 rows on top of each other instead of just 2 long ones.
I can move my quests and make them super small so they dont take up much space.
I can rearrange the dungeon and party group sizes.

This new ui is super nice😁
Wish they also did the main menu (the one with the spellbook and character menu and all that) though appearently someone has been sleeping and forgot to include that.

Forum needs to be flooded with this kind of threads, only way to let blizz know what we think and it MIGHT make them consider fixing the issues… if we are lucky that is.

I wish I was 16 and unemployed… then I could waste the few hours I’m able to play in the evenings in UI builder’s mode without feeling upset about paying Blizzard with my hard earned money to do their job.

I don’t like it either it will take me a long time to get used to it and i pray to god there will be some add-ons that will make the new UI readable.

I have vision problems I’m shortsighted the panels for char spell book talents collection are too tiny i can barely make out things i need a microscope :microscope: .

The action bar takes the whole screen it’s bogus blocks the vision of everything else on the screen.

Thank God for edit function made it at least a bit bearable.

If you do that some windows literally fall outside the screen area.

I’m having a similar problem to many others here. The UI consistently feels either too small or too large somehow. I can’t seem to get it to scale right because every single effing panel has a different size. It’s always uncomfortable.

Both.
The font is bigger but also it’s light font with a darker background so has high contrast which makes it much easier to read.
