no just pointing out the habit of “happytreefriends” gang when they found someone that does not bow himself to them
Fair enough. Keep telling yourself that.
Anyway, I think this topic has probably been talked as far as it can without becoming too unbearable so good luck to you.
i dont need luck, i am not goig to use, or be a mentor.
I just want the sistem to be as i want it, otherwise i will just not suggest to use it if i will met a new player
You are the equivalent of wanting 480 ilvl to clear Normal Nya’lotha. I think we are all well aware of your over the top requirements for a simple mentor system.
Fortunately Blizzard are much wiser and understand that CE or Gladiator have very little to do with capability to help others. Some of those players may well have the knowledge to help beginners get to grips with things in Wow but many will not. And that’s why it’s not a suitable measuring stick.
I think they are a little upset we don’t agree with the hardcore elitist standard of mentors they wish to set.
Maybe I teased too much with the vid but it is what it reminds me of.
No its not the same.
Not at all.
And I’m not upset at all. This is how I want the sistem to be.
You don’t like it? Not mine problem.
We aren’t going to agree, it seems very evident you have never dealt with new players and the questions they ask.
It makes zero sense to use CE/Glad but you are entitled to your opinion. There doesn’t seem to be many that agree with you. It’s not like you get any say in the matter, so it doesn’t really matter. Blizz will set a reasonable standard and new players will be able to get help.
I do not get it though I mean a completely new player that needs to learn basics can learn that from the official site or the tutorial its already pretty hand holdy. I do not see the point in a extra mentor thing. I agree with your statement though that a new player does not think about end game content.
People get stuck and their Google-fu isn’t always up to it. Traditionally people would ask guildies, friends even general chat.
These days most just get told to go Google it but I don’t mind helping people. When the Bee mount came out Stormsong was buzzing with activity. People asking how to do things and people responding and being helpful. A real sense of community. Yes they could all have told each other to go look up a guide but they didn’t.
When something is new people tend to be more open to helping each other. People who come along later don’t get that same welcome.
I also do not mind helping someone who asks the way to stormwind a silly example but as good as any. But there already are a lot of chat channels, tutorials, sites and other things out there. My point is does a new mentor system really add to the game?
Yes it does, end of the story. They have more knowledge period
There were mostly insults towards those who started events too earlier from someone’s very important point of view. On Silvermoon at least. Mark my words, it will be either boost spam or some politics trash talk like old trade or both.
yes about the raid. Not about the topics new players have questions about End of story.
My thoughts exactly
I’d give up, they’re clearly looking to troll people for reactions. Looking at past posts across the forums, they’re all inflammatory statements designed to antagonise others and derail sensible conversations.
I pity them to an extent. They are either a good actor or just very bitter and frustrated at the world.
We recently had a new player join our guild and they were asking questions about proffs, lots of people answered telling them about the new systems in SL and what proffs were currently seen as ‘the best’ and the various uses for each profession. Then one person (yes just one) told them about the glove enchantments you can buy to ‘speed’ up mining or herbing etc. they then proceeded to make some for the newcomer.
It’s sometimes the little things that new players find the most useful
Have you even read most of the comments here? That gnome only wants a mentor system for high level content/end game content. While most new players are not looking for that kind of information.
So do not start posting nonsense about inflammatory comments because they where not.
I did read it all but thank you for the advice.
I did mine on Silvermoon too. There was the odd occasion where people started before a full group was formed.
I don’t believe there will be any boost spam in the mentor channel. It’s not the place for it. They don’t venture out of trade and the odd time they do, they are silenced in moments. If Blizz slap a hefty punishment on advertising in group finder it would be bliss.
Various high end players will mentor but for a cost
I don’t think it’s unreasonable if you play at that level to expect to be paid to coach others, but I agree that’s not what this mentoring system is about. It’s a way for newcomers to be able to ask the typical noob questions we all had when we started.
