If fights required hard skill and reflexes, it would be even more unfair than if you needed an addon to warn you about a mechanic coming up in 5 seconds. Planning cooldowns for overlaps is the raid’s collective job and is essentially what “beating a fight” is about.

So… exactly what I’ve said? Currently you have mechanic A happening at exact moment and DBM warns you about that, so what’s your point?

Overlaps are mainly there to have the encounter/phase become more challenging. Call it a soft enrage if you wish as more often than not if those scenarios can be avoided groups will try to push the dps to skip it. They are also mostly the only really dangerous part of a phase like during Ras P2 where spark/ring/shield are coming in close succession and are the only real “imma kill you now” part of the phase.

Didn’t raid too much current tier, so can’t say anything about that. All I know that I stopped retail raiding (late Nathria) due to overload of overlaps and fights being schematic. While challenging encounters can be fun from time to time I just got burnt out from keeping eye on everything (partialy cause I was RLing most of the time). I used WAs to make it easier, but seriously - it shouldn’t be this bad. If current tier is different then it’s good, at least they decided to move away from that approach.

Blizzard needs to take the first step. They need to remove visual clutter from spells and design boss mechanics to be clear and visible.
Restricting addons would make the game unplayable, or at least unenjoyable.

I see it as two sides of the same coin. They gotta fix them both - but I fear fixing the classes means new expansion.

Some UI elements from addons need to be put into the core UI, too. DR displays for instance.

If you can’t tell the diffrence between those you can’t tell the difference between anything in WoW. They are the most obvious spell effects I’ve seen in years. Both your rods and cones would have to be severely damaged, maybe the lens nearly entirely destroyed, for you to be unable to tell them apart. And certainly little chat markers won’t help - they move less and have less distinct shapes, and they’re smaller.

I don’t wanna hear about how people not paying attention means vision impaired people can’t do it.

at least flashing proc works for you (im rogue main but outlaw plays so garbage now im on a vacation)

Watch the god damn video if you don’t believe me. Also , i didn’t say ban the add-ons for everyone , but the competitions choice which add-ons make the fight unfair to ban in the competition.

That is your opinion, but I disagree. Having no addons in the game would have made the game a way worse experience for all the players playing it through the years. There is a reason that almost all players used some form of addons to edit/personalize their UI. This is because blizzard made a terrible job designing the UI.
