have not seen any forging over +5 to base for weeks.

Which shows you judge everyone the same and don’t read responses or arguments for/against. Nothing in my reasons as to why TF/WF doesn’t work includes someone in LFR getting a max TF with socket and extra stat.
Using your example we could even twist it and say that those having self esteem issues are those who require mythic raiding level rewards for doing open world content. But I’m not so petty or ridiculous.
Blizz recognises there is an issue but don’t currently know how to fix it.

i wonder what made you think im speaking about mythic level rewards.
the thing which blizzard wants to achieve is people playing game constantly not just short after patches. and they are achieving this with TF and gear that is aviable out in world.
what people need is constant slow way to get gear upgrades. and BfA is succeding in this like none expansion before - world is full of people doin WQ , full of people doin WF , full of people doin islands and full of people doin Mythic + / raids.
the only ones complaing about current model are those who look for self worth and self achievements in game instead IRL. those who measure their worth by comparing gear to others.
and thats clearly the price blizzard is more then willing to pay because this kind of gameplay is unhealthy in first place.
and you should know, that some players need a goal to work for…
If there is no BIS, what are these players supposed to work for then?
for example, I am kind of minmaxing my priest… I always try to get the best gear possible for the content I do (which means, if I do Heroic, I want the best gear possible for Heroic… but this is now impossible, because the best gear possible for Heroic = best gear possible for mythic).
and since my goal is unreachable, I have no reason to repeat the content, which Titanforging was created for in the first place (goal was to make players repeat content more often) but I have NO reason to repeat content, if my goals are unreachable… (beating jaina on heroic is nice and all, but it doesn’t make me repeat the content)
getting a specific Item level is useless, because even 1 piece procced too high, messes up my stats…
there is no goal to work for with TF, so no reason to repeat the content for me

Most of this thread is full of hatred towards mythic raiders and ridiculous judgements about why they may or may not like TF/WF system.
I really hope the system goes. I am hopeful because they are at least recognising the issues for some of the playerbase. That it is one big horrible amount of RNG that many dislike.
The game worked fine for many expansions without this system. I don’t think it’s helping to keep players engaged. I think it’s a gimmick that they thought would work out well but it’s made loot less rewarding.
There are no doubt players who like the system. I think it’s detrimental to the game and gearing up.

Cutting edge, gladiator, loremaster, collecting mounts, pets, etc and various other achievements or simply do content that you enjoy.
This idea of BiS being THE end goal of world of warcraft is seriously distorted and this is a product of YOUR perception. Even before Legion there were people who didn’t bother with gear because in X months new gear will come along and make the current one obsolete. You never had the best gear, yet after so many years it’s mind boggling that you’re still trying and see no other reason to play the game.
Also if you’re killing a boss and a +20 item level upgrade with socket is not rewarding enough for you because a +25 item with socket and tertiary exists, then something is very wrong with your brain.
you only do these ONCE this doesn’t make you repeat the content…
collecting mounts or pets? not interested… I have some favourite mounts or pets, I don’t need more than those, besides, the mounts recently are ugly (for me at least)
beeing finished with a character makes me happy, it shows me, that I have worked towards a goal and that I have reached it

They should work on obtaining the best gear possible they can in the game, even by using multiple progression paths in the same time if need be, and on reaching the achievements in the game which matter like curve and such.
Yes you do especially with your current progression with one +2 mythic dungeon done in time , and with just 5 bosses killed in a heroic raid, and no more than twice some, yes I believe you.
Not true since for the heroic the azerite pieces from the raid still exist with the best traits, and that is BIS obtained from the heroic. And there are some other items in it which are rly good to.
I think how your problem is that you don’t know what you even rly want tbh, if there wouldn’t be now multiple paths of the progression and if we heroic raiders would have just to gear from that one tier and be unable to advance further when it comes to gearing the people doing that content would finish their gearing even sooner and there would be no point after the content would be cleared to do anything anymore for those who wouldn’t get into the mythic raiding.
Well since even the earlier times in the WoW I’m used to carry multiple items of the same level with me so that I can optimize my gear better depending on the overall gear I have and the items I receive. And getting one piece of the higher item level can improve your overall performance in the game, that one doesn’t need to be BIS.
That is your view with which I don’t agree with.

Ok if you want to just gear for the heroic raid, and not advance further during this season, than you can get all BIS from the heroic, get the azerite gear pieces from the raid and some other items and you are done.

So get all baseline items and don’t use proced ones if you think how they will mess up your stats. The Blizzard doesn’t create the raid encounters around proced gear anyway.
First of all, those were examples.
Secondly the willingness to repeat content, for whatever reason, comes down to individual. Maybe you just want a specific trinket, maybe you want all transmog gear, maybe you want logs, etc maybe you don’t care and once the last boss dies you take a break from WoW.
Also the line you draw when it comes to repeatable content is arbitray, i mean if an item you need to feel complete has a 20% chance to drop you’re perfectly willing to repeat content. But when if that item is 10%? what if it’s 5%? what if it’s 1%?
What’s that magical number that makes you to repeat the content?
Lastly “being finished” with a character is again very subjective and differs from person to person. Obviously you were never “finished” because new and better gear is constantly added to the game. Even without TF, should the game wait for you? should blizzard delay crucible of storms now cause someone like you is unlucky?

that requires me beeing lucky and getting them baseline in the first place
The point where i know that just having the item drop is enough RNG in the process and not rely on maybe a 10% chance for it to drop and then an extra 5% of that for the item to TF up to its max, then a good maybe 20% for it to proc with a socket and then another perhaps 10% to get a 33% chance at the best possible teritary stat.
Even without these being exact numbers at all then it’s easy to see how adding them up makes it close to impossible to get the single best item for a slot. This gets even worse with raiding where you have one shot each reset, not counting coin rolls, to get that item.
Most items I got from the BOD raid are not proced, besides azerite pieces can’t proc, and there is that nice feeling when you get proced items which you wish to get, + if some item can proc for a nice level if some secondary stats are not the best for you but the main one is increased for a good amount than in most cases that is an upgrade for you. For me that entire thing is not a big deal about which I worry much in the game, coz I’m playing the game a lot and I’m getting upgrades while playing it and also optimizing my gear all the time for the better performance which I did even before forging become a thing in the game.
