TODD…
You’re finally awake!
How did you even post that without 10 characters? What black magics did you use?
I’ve got friends on the other side…
Everyone in this thread gets a slap on the wrist, and if you disagree you get…
Starting drama over something that has been agreed upon by both parties in public, the fornication is wrong with you guys, jeez.
(edit: thanks didn’t notice the double there)
Hit or miss I guess we never miss
You know, this entire situation just proves that:
- Communication is key. Not some cryptic “but I sent some rogues to do a fake attack!” communication. Clear cut, very easily understandable: “We are here to get away from OG. OG wants to come here. How do people feel about this?” communication with the other leaders and officers. It’s amazing that we are taking the piss across four hundred posts when a simple: “Hey, we want to attack you tomorrow! Any objections to that?” in whisper could have solved so much.
- When an entire group of people is trying to get away from the usual RP and do something new, bringing the usual RP to them pisses them off. Go figure.
- That apparently when two or three members of an entire group are talking to the Alliance, you are immediately in danger of having a 40 member RP legion knocking on your door one day to the other to halt the entire thing for rebellion.
But hey. What do I know, as someone who runs as a GM on some of the biggest LARP events?
Talk to people.
OOC communication? But then you could ruin a big plot or spoil something.
We communicate for every big event OOCly, be that Kosh’harg or RP-PvP campaigns. How is this suddenly any different…?
This reads like you’re misrepresenting pretty much everything, seeing as the entire Rotgarde VS Rog thing is an agreed upon scenario and a longstanding tale.
Communication was not at all the issue here, people getting offended on behalf of others is the issue.
I too am very important and a big deal in LARP and my cabinets smell of rich mahogany
I too RP in Los Angeles. How cool!
I ate soup with a fork once
how strange that people who are suspected of rebellion get the hammer brought down upon them
almost as if it’s fitting to sylvanas’ regime isn’t it
quite odd hmm
Communication was not at all the issue here, people getting offended on behalf of others is the issue.
I am not at all getting offended on anyone’s behalf. Neither Perroy nor Rogmasha are on my radar. I am stating that I think Rogmasha and Perroy could have done some things better and read the mood a bit more. They are free to disagree.
Don’t attribute that to “being offended.” That is absolutely tone deaf. It’s me stating my opinion based on what I read. If they want to disagree, they are very much free to do so and tell me why.
I don’t particularly care about you or your guild. Whatever floats your boat.
But when you are willingly taking the piss out of people and ridicule them, then don’t be surprised when a sizeable portion of the server doesn’t like you and act like it’s a surprise.
You can argue with me on level and disagree in a respectful manner.
how strange that people who are suspected of rebellion get the hammer brought down upon them.
Whether it is IC correct or not is not even remotely the point. Just because something can work ICly does not mean it is (mood and circumstances considered) a good idea to push the issue OOC.
Let me know when you start, because at the moment you’re swinging into a discussion you clearly know nothing about trying to tout your credentials in an entirely different medium as though they’re relevant and as though they make your unwarranted opinions useful.
so you are basically saying that because it might upset a few people ooc, we should not stick to our ic prerogative of trying to quash rebellion wherever it should raise its head. this does not sound like very good rp to me- why should we completely suspend our ic motives just because it MAY upset someone ooc? the fault lies with the person getting upset for bringing ic into ooc, not on us
Speaking of which… retrieve the barrel.
Think there’s a difference, man. It’s kinda strange to get offended for somebody else (esp. if you don’t really participate in the Horde scene/weren’t there) but it’s probably perfectly valid to be offended for yourself?
If something screwed with you/your character, and you thought it sucked, I’d start there rather than defending somebody who doesn’t necessarily wanna be defended.
I’d say there was also an issue of communication to address (although the relevant parties have been over that already), whether that’s particularly anyone’s fault is up in the air, but I can take that one on my mantle gladly.
As mentioned above;
Kotur did have a lot of things planned out for our (and the other some 30+ that planned on showing over the week-long) stay; and I can understand he’s a little miffed at having to shelve that for an indeterminate amount of time.
Should I have told him that was a risk? Probably, yes - though we’d been left largely alone and any encounters before the one two days ago were sorted out with me before going forward, so I wasn’t sure it was going to be necessary.
sidereus broke it i’m sorry to say
Was that post directed at me? Because I can’t quite tell. I do have Horde alts, and I am not really defending anyone there…
Just a theme I noticed - I occasionally check threads, but I don’t follow them so much. I woulda had to scroll up and read your arguments to you with my monstrous wit.
