Of course he feels attacked, you idiots, who weren’t even there, are clearly blaming him for something that isn’t his fault.
People pointed out they think withholding OOC communication for the “fear of metagaming” is a self-defeating approach - in their opinion.
They believe the rogue warning, based on the information they have so far, was a bit too little - in their opinion.
If you cannot handle opinions without feeling attacked, then a forum might not be the best place to spend your time off.
You mean “demystify”
Arguing spelling mistakes? Really? Just to get away from being proven wrong…?
You’re welcome to post to your hearts content and I am welcome to reply
That’s fine. But when you are rude for the sake of it, then the people posting are not to blame for some supposed “anti-PCU” mentality. They are just reacting in kind and keep future reference. And not irrationally or because they are a “common ill”.
You just said that everyone is entitled to an opinion and this is mine.
There is a difference between calling people “the common ill” and saying “I think this isn’t cool.” The second one is an opinion. The first one rude and inflamatory. Moderation.
I believe otherwise so I guess we’re an an impasse.
That’s fine. But don’t react like a teenager when being called out and told people disagree.
Apparently it is. I have frequently mentioned that I think Rogmasha made mistakes too. The difference is that Rogmasha - whether she believes it or not - said it might have been a mistake. That’s fine. She took the opinions with stride. That is commendable.
He became rude and dismissive, and I called him out on it. And people said they disagree with his approach to communication. They did not call out Rogmasha because she was not nearly as confrontational about it.
Apparently it is that hard to understand.
I will apologize if any of my posts were taken as an insult to Perroy. An insult was not my intention. But I will not apologize for calling him out on being rude.
10 years of backstory is difficult to sum up sadly
EDIT: ah damn I forgot to mention that I’ve been on this server - and in this guild, on and off - for 10 years and therefore everyone should consider me an authority on roleplay
That’s a great argument and all but you could argue that by making it public in the first place it also opened up the chance for PCU/other groups to pursue the RP they like as well- Unless it’d been explicitly stated that this kind of RP wasn’t allowed.
Opinionposting is all great and good but I’m not sure why’s this worth mentioning because I’m free to post my opinion equally to value your opinion?
I’m sure if you ask her nicely she can continue providing you with the welfare RP you rely upon, be it through an alt or reconstructing the leadership of the initiative or whatnot.
Although that seems like a really entitled stance to take, but that’s something between you and the player, not mine to judge.
And I replied pointing out that there’s also value into keeping things surprising- Which it was, for a lot of the players.
Your opinion’s been heard, but we still disagree, based on the arguments that have been given.
10 years of backstory is difficult to sum up sadly.
10 years of backstory are not every single posters problem. Not every negative opinion about an event, action or opinion stems from this. I understand how it might make people defensive, but bringing this up for every time you are rude to a contrary opinion is nonsense.
You don’t apologize if you feel you’ve done nothing wrong. The fact that you’re emitting that you “MAY” have done something wrong is enough to tell you’re shaky and uncertain of your view and are simply keeping it not to lose face.
Perroy & co are not saying they’re sorry because they don’t feel there’s anything to be sorry about. Who knew?
Someone with your venerable experience should be aware that having a great deal of knowledge in a subject and relying on it to leverage their opinion in a conversation goes both ways. : )
At no point did I say people actually stopped RPing in the hub, did I? I said that was the main concern that I saw people voicing. Whether it be a valid concern or not, I leave in the middle. But rather than seeing people who were actively involved in the would-be drama complain about the SL, I’m saying that was the main point of concern. And that is a concern that should be resolved by those in charge of the traveling hub - not the loyalists. Sheesh, talk about a fuss over nothing.
Speaking of a fuss over nothing, I do advise you to review the post you responded to. I literally point out that nowhere along the line, I hold SL accountable but rather the organization of the traveling hub if its plans have truly gone south due to Rogmasha’s disappearance (which, again, I leave in the middle). Where is the “dispute/ire with Rotgarde” in that, exactly? Yet here we are. In merely one post that I have made, I have had the following accusations flung at me:
Bubble RP (where is that even relevant, by the way?)
Dishonest
Vagueposting
Disingenuine
Failure to argue (what viewpoints, exactly?)
And yet, we have people here who are surprised that they’re being told they’re being paranoid. That is baffling, truly. Yes, people have spoken ill of the loyalist group before. Yes, that was entirely unnecessary. But that does not instantly translate to “the entirety of X community is against us”. At that rate, it’ll just result in a self-fulfilling prophecy due to sheer paranoia. And I don’t see what the point in that is.
While you can hardly be blamed for letting those ten years of “oh no, RG bad” sour your judgement, I’d hope you can see that it’s possible to articulate “people think the PCU’s OOC communication could be better, and are aggrieved that their expectations regarding the Hub (vis: avoiding escalating political drama by rping elsewhere) and what actually happened (escalating political drama) didn’t line up” without it being a personal attack on Perroy.
Which is really what this comes down to, when you strip out the drama.
You don’t want to mess with me boy, I was born for this.
