What could possibly have a poor 4-year-old child to do at 6 AM? 
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I understand if it’s a family of commuters or w/e. But surely, even in the north there ought to be many ppl who live relatively close to their workplaces. Either said workplaces start crazy early or I don’t really understand this tendency to wake up super early. I mean, if your office has a 9-17 schedule, what would the point of waking up early if you are close enough? And you people surely have holidays and weekends too - what’s the need to wake up at 6 AM then? I generally wake up at 11 AM whenever I am on a free day
Speaking of which and raiding in general. A lot of people don’t bother with the same old raids, because you won’t get the current bis there. A lot and I mean a lot of players are farming honor/ranks in groups (or try to) to get the rank and the pvp gear. Has nothing to do with the amount of guilds, free time or schedules. Raiding just became obsolete in the current phase.
People are people, I for example woke up early my whole live, even if it meant only 3h sleep due to a long night before. Just cant sleep during daylight.

He wakes up then. No matter how late he goes to sleep. Besides, I work 07-16 and GF work different hours some earlier then that but most later.
Yeah yeah I’m not questioning your specific circumstances. I just find it odd that this seems to be the norm in northern countries. Like, do all “normal” commercial establishments start working that early? Here where I live most shops, except food stores and a few others, and almost every kind of office (public or private alike) don’t even open before 9 AM or so.
I think office is 8 here but almost all industri, handyman job, most stores open/starts at 7
On the actuall topic of OP, I believe AQ will break some guilds up. After all, C’thun is by many recognized as the first actually challenging encounter of Classic. (Others being Loatheb, 4 horsepersons and Kel’Thuzad)
You will have some guilds disbanding after a week or two of wipes on Osirian trash/Huhu/Twins/C’Thun and their capable members applying to the guilds who are doing better. It’s all a natural circle.
I said long ago that a few months into Naxx it will be farmed by coalitions of top guilds, as MANY people will drop out after KT dies and TBC date is known.
Alternative suggestion: can you please disband?
I don’t really understand. If you are struggling with recruitment, it’s your reputation. Maybe you’re not as hot as you think.
People should give chaos a chance. I’ve never liked the idea of following a schedule. Especially, if someone else determines it for me. It might take years to build something, but when that is ready you will be able to go to sleep, wake up, and do stuff whenever it suits you.
As for why there are too many guilds…if there are indeed too much, some always collapse, and raiders rejoin others. It’s natural stuff here in wow.
I think some guilds will disband during AQ40. It is my understanding, that AQ40 and Naxx are more difficult than MC and BWL, so some guilds wille disband due to not being able to down a boss.
So let it sort itself out during the next couple of phases, where I think we will see some guilds disbanding.

there is a lot of recruitment going on this days by old well known guilds!
most of them need healers! & some needs warr/rogue
So i can guess that A LOT of players keep losing interest in wow classic & quitting.
it has nothing to do with guild reputation or if they are casuals or min/max guild!
it is just that an old game with nothing new to introduce can’t keep everyone attached.

Im 28 not 82, plus I workout 5 days a week, maybe you should do some too if you are under 30.
When I worked on cruise ships I even slept less.
