Token's coming

https://wago.tools/builds-diff?filter%5BFilename%5D=token&from=1.15.7.60141&page=1&to=1.15.8.63829

Type “token” in the Filename field and there are files which were added in the latest WoW build, like interface/store/wowtokengold.blp and some others, which clearly related to the token in the shop.

Wow, just keep it out of Era and I’m happy.

Edit: my suspicion is these files are added along with a lot of other files from the last TBC version which was live on ‘19 classic. That’s when they introduced the token, so it would make sense for them to be there. Either way - I don’t really care for Anniversary etc., as long as they keep them off Era.

It’s kind of obvious there also will be a level boost with the prepatch, and some are betting they will offer a level 70 boost before BT or Sunwell.

I was googling priest gearing using PvP currencies in the prepatch, and most Google results were RMT. If people pay over 300 EUR for a boost, then IMHO Blizzard should price their boost at 250 EUR and put a yaht icon on the website for every 10 sold…

Iran going to be out of buisness

No, it won’t have effect on RMT because of price difference, most people will still buy with RMT

It is simple. People who are farming or offering services (boosts, summons and other) will base their prices on RMT gold price, it will be just too expencive if you buy token. Those people sell their services for gold, and if nobody buying their gold, they won’t offer services because they doing it only to make money. But people still need those services, so they will buy RMT gold. Those services will be just too expencive if you buy them with wow token gold

Just a fact, when they released token in WOTLK, it had no effect on RMT gold price. RMT gold price and demand stayed the same, not big % of players bought gold in tokens.

and … I suppose I could care less if I really tried.

Botted gold is so damn cheap right now, I can’t think of WoW Token pricing to have any significant effect.

Heck, I suspect that people might be even speculating to buy botted gold and purchase WoW token with it instead of regular subscription and ACTUALLY saving money.

/s regardless Iran will be out of buisness.

I’d love to see an Iranian boost people to gladiator with 300ms and constant disconnects when power goes offline.

Lvl boost is not as widespread in TBC as it is in 60.

I don’t buy or need anything from AH because I have enough time to grind mats, consumables and BoEs. With tokens the AH prices will go through the roof. Good for me, bad for casuals without time but enough money to spend on tokens.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, because:

  1. TBC raiding is much less gold-dependant
  2. TBC introduces daily questing for gold

The situation is naturally going to get a lot better and WoW token is not going to change that.

Crowded zones after start causes high demand for herbs and ore.
Primal might and primals are the most important resource for the best gear.
Same for crafted gems and meta gems.

Of course items will be sold for much higher prices with tokens in the game because anyone can get gold easy and legal.

On Spineshatter atleast there are guilds that will control elemental plateau 24/7 and create coalition and just as you mentioned bots will control all the nodes for mining and herb with druid characters.

Mega server problems. But gold are less valuble in TBC and the only problem casuals will have are epic mount and scryers / aldor rep early on. Raiding cost almost nothing in TBC and you can earn that gold from dailies.

But everyone can make a mage alt and just run dungeons for unlimited gold.

You need terocone that can be big bottleneck on TBC PvP server. Same as plaguebloom right now.

True, but that is the only costly item from your standard raiding consumables list. Food is cheap, bis oils are from Vanilla and flasks are purchasable from vendor. Dark Runes will be costly, but that’s absolute overkill.

Not from 1st phase, and not every alt will have rep for it

But its needed for potions that you use every fight. We dont know what price it really will be, but its equialent in classic is plaguebloom (herb that also can be farmed only in few locations), and its price is insane right now on PvP server, 10-12g. With TBC inflation, we can easely expect 20g terocone on PvP megaserver

For progress as healer you will be expected to use it

If that happens, pop goes the champers. :champagne:

They can do as they please on Anniversary Realms, that ship’s long since sailed - as long as it doesn’t impact Classic Era.

There’s always level boosting - or ONE level 58 boost - which doesn’t include Paladin/Shaman depending if you play Ally or Horde.

I totally agree! I don’t really care what happens to Anniversary, as long as they keep their promise of letting Era stay in its current state indefinitely. Introducing the token on Era realms would let a huge part of the playerbase down, and most likely lead to a lot of active players unsubscribing (myself included).

Too bad the price will be absurd like all other things they sell on their shop
