See Taxania’s post above about profanity. It is used very rarely. I don’t really want to RP with Jax Teller from Sons of Anarchy who justifies their lack of creativity because Garrosh called Slyvanas a b**ch that one time.

It’s used very rarely because this is a 12+ game, but the truth might just be that people curse just as irl. Just that Blizzard can’t do such.
That doesn’t mean you have to do such ofc…
#1 would have me roll my eyes and feel inclined to disregard it, #2 would at least keep my attention while also providing some amusement.

I’d equally criticize people who constantly write about murder and torture. It’s a game for ages 12 and up.

Because it’s a PG12 game and the Karens would go wild, not because people don’t swear.
Parental filter should keep the bad words away, though I would argue that any 12 year old on the Internet has already heard or played games with curse words and murder.
Also in WoW you murderise about 90% of Azeroth’s population, anyway.
ok but do you do so in any graphic way or while constantly launching out F and C bombs? or do you just whack someone in a non-bloody fashion until they groan and fall over?

I mean there’s quests where you mow down people with a machine gun and guts fly everywhere. Abominations are literally stitched up people. There’s gnoll human skin tents. Hillsbrad human farm.
The game may be PG12 but it’s not exactly My Little Pony.
Sure. But these are exceptions to the rule, wouldn’t you say? Most of the time, it’s as I said. You whack people until they take a nap.
RP should, in turn, treat the particularly graphic stuff as exceptions to the rule, and not a constant.

There’s no argument to be made, the game has a setting that keeps the bad words away from the poor kids. They’ll be called worse in LFR, anyway.

Curse words in Warcraft are used very sparingly (if you ignore something like Garrosh calling Sylvanas Windrunner a b1tch in-game).
In RP, meanwhile, people love dropping bombs left and right. And even if, even IF we go by the weird 
logic of “normal people do it” I doubt it’s normal for people to yell them out loud across an entire city like Stormwind. Neither is it very cool in my opinion when a military commander on a battlefield in RPPVP begins madly calling his enemies C-words instead of… you know… giving orders. Just a WeirdChamp.
And if we go by the logic of “hehe hoho haha kids hear curse words by that stage anyways in LFR or something”, I assume ERP should also be allowed free reign just because Goldshire exists…?
Spoiler: no, it shouldn’t be. That’s just a very weak argument.

Kids 12+ are playing much worse games. Left 4 Dead, GTA 5 and Postal are a few examples. Not that I agree with overly described violence. Though I saw on PCU forum thread an information that Dirge of Teldrassil violently removed a taurens tail. ???

This is some American tier censorship, we’re okay with showing dismemberment, people being put in WoW Auschwitz, forced undeath, children and women stitched together but we’re going to e-mail the sponsors because someone uses the F word?
