I know your fight or flight instinct is kicking in because you got quite simply owned, but perhaps you should pick flight this time instead of being a

It was done in the span of a minute, and without any particularly graphic language. I never said I was against the concept of any kind of hurt or violence in WoW, I said

So uh, I’m not particularly sure of what you’re arguing here.

The only thing you own are the food stamps you get monthly

Man runs out of arguments, instead starts crazily throwing around personal insults.

Truly, this means you win the discussion  it’s ok king everyone’s wrong sometimes, just own up to it and carry on.

No. I’m actually going to like all your posts from now on.

I’m gone for a few hours and all of a sudden this happens.

y u do dis

I don’t know where people live but IRL I’ve never seen others swearing in stranger’s faces at random.

I think swearing in WoW is an attitude that doesn’t amplify the setting but rather belittles the atmosphere. It prevents you from taking things seriously and deprives you of that enchanted feeling that should govern the setting of Warcraft. It can be broken sometimes, but it’s very easy to abuse it.

I am going to have a hard time to RP with someone who swears a lot just because he wants to get a vague sense of reward from his words.

Well… I’ve seen it, but it was a drunk dude, so it doesn’t count.

"When participating in communication of any kind (chat, voice communication, group finder), you are responsible for how you express yourself. You may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others.

Hate speech and discriminatory language is inappropriate, as is any obscene or disruptive language. Threatening or harassing another player is always unacceptable, regardless of language used. Violating any of these expectations will result in account restrictions. More serious and repeated violations will result in greater restrictions."

Blizzards Terms of Service here on communication. Quite frankly swearing is out of the question here especially the C word. So that ends that.

Who the hell uses that?

I use damn, dang, darn, s**t, hell. and then on forums I might say titmonkey, that’s as far as I go online, unless I write to friends on Disc/real ID.

Some people do, you would be surprised. The words you used there seem fine and dandy though.

I prefer using non-serious curse words because it’s more fun, and people won’t expect 'em.

Since I’m new to AD It’s been a wild ride. Here’s some of the worst types from my short time here:

  1. ERPers that chat you up and pretend to be this nice person and then show up and try to ERP you.

Had one do this to me, thought they’re decent and then BAM. Level 1 Rogue with the “Tamer” title trying to approach my night elf from behind and all in whispers. After I asked them what the hell they are doing, they just ran.

Hats off to those who straight up ask for a yes or no. At least they’re honest.

  1. People who cannot contain themselves.

Is there an authority? You bet they’re not only questioning that authority, they’re questioning their very existence.

Is there a moment of silence that is appropriate for the present RP? Is everyone else quiet? Is there a public figurehead or some form of leader speaking out loud? You bet they need to be the only one speaking in the room, they need to self insert their opinion for all to see and they’ll make sure to question everything that is being said and done in Low right next to the unfortunate victim that has to answer any of their questions which usually have obvious answers to anyone around.

  1. People who roleplay soldiers but will defy direct orders.

Why are you doing this? Do you think IRL soldiers pout at their superiors when they disagree with something? Do you think an IRL sergeant would be quite happy with your brooding character who refuses to work with others?

  1. Druids of any kind that spend all their time in their animal form, producing appropriate animal noises and aren’t feral. Cats in specific, someone mentioned them above. God bless your soul, I can’t stand these.

They’ll do a mandatory meow too.

  1. Elf RPers or Draenei RPers that have thousands of years under their belt but are no different than a frustrated teenager. “Why yes I know every druid form, every arcane spell, I’ve seen the war of ancients and survived Draenor, but have not become older or wiser in the same amount of time.

I don’t mind swearing in roleplay but I reserve it for when I really want to put emphasis on something - this isn’t to say I don’t swear casually OOC. I’m from a rough-ish part of the UK and that’s my everyday. If it wasn’t for the forum filter my posts would be blasted with expletives but that doesn’t mean it works just as well in WoW. Comes across as jarring to me, esp. overuse of the ‘c’ one.

I think other ones are pretty fine to use, too? Bastard, for example. Bloody, pissing, these are all super tame.

When it comes to swear words, haven’t seen hard F or C being used by NPCs before so just in terms of validity on whether or not you’d have it as common speech, I’d probably say no. You can sprinkle in more appropriate ways to convey the same things with one nanosecond of thought.

In fairness the only ones that use speech like that liberally are leatherclad clowns that have descriptions in TRP about being clinically insane.
Make about as much sense as Draenei SPPEIKINK LIKE ZIZ TO VE SMALL OZZER RAZES.
